We hosted our wedding at Ronin Art House 2 on 2/3/23. Keagan, who manages the Rōnin Art House 2 venue and Jamison, who manages the adjacent space next door called .Five are extremely professional and responsive. They worked with me on my multiple revisions to the contract to change times and other details we didn't realize we needed until the week of the wedding. The venues are both well appointed and .Five was a truly unique place to host our cocktail hour. We received many compliments on the character and unique feel of the venue afterward. All transactional items are simple with Rōnin--online and paperless as well. My only recommendation is that if you use this venue, you will likely need to also rent .Five for additional catering space. We rented .Five for that purpose and host our cocktail hour while Ronin 2 was being flipped from ceremony to reception and I did not realize until after the wedding that our caterers did not get to use the space at .Five due to the fact that we were using it for the cocktail hour. I thought there was more space in the back, but relied on our planner to work with the caterer. I should have confirmed this all myself. After the wedding, I was told by the caterer that the delays in serving dinner were due to not having enough space for food prep. I also had a number of caterers turn down quoting the event due to the inability to use certain equipment they required on site. If you are serving a simple buffet meal, this might work; but if you need space for plated meal set up, you will need all of the space in .Five for your caterer. This was not an issue resulting from venue management. This is just something I would want to be aware of if I was booking here. Overall, this venue is beautiful and perfect for a wedding of around 50 people. I would definitely host here if I had the chance to do this all over again. read more

yesterday was my daughter wedding and I paid quite much to have my makeup and hair done. It was hot in there and we even had a fan in the bridal room. it was only 3 of us occupying the room. I said well I'm going to step out to cool off. Even the general area was hot before guest started coming. So, before wedding started my hair was all frizzing and was going back to its natural curly look ( It was silk pressed and curled. we only had about a hour and a half before it started. The guest was using there plate cards to fan there selves, Before wedding started I had to put my hair in a different style and my makeup was blotchy because of the heat ( not the makeup the makeup artist she was awesome). Ronin 2 is so beautiful. My sister had an event here and because of the natural aesthetics of the venue there was little that had to be done to decorate. Keagan was more than gracious throughout the entire process. A beautiful venue along with good customer service makes for the best of both worlds. I did put a deposit dwn because during that time COVID-19 looked to not be doing soo bad in Houston, we were in green zone. I'm thinking by the time shower come, we would be even better with COVID-19. , but that wasn't the case, Houston Texas was now in red zone ,cases were at the highest. Texas was doing so bad with COVID mayor Sylvester Turner, Mandated that we go back to shut down, clubs and social gatherings. I reached out to Ronin after seeing this on news asking if they can refund my deposit back due to COVID-19 have worsened and that mayor said to cancel all gatherings that is more than 10. Ronin 2 refused to refund my deposit. This saddens me because they know what's going on this coronavirus is not a joke. It's selfish and very inconsiderate. I will never do business with Ronin 2 again. Ridiculous for y'all to do this to anybody that had to cancel there event because of coronavirus. It's bad and people are dying and I'm a nurse and I'm seeing this daily and to know and see you don't care is ridiculous. Anybody that had to cancel due to the spike in covid you should refund them at least half of there money back. read more

Had a small gathering here for my sister's 30th and was very pleased with the professionalism I experienced. I was wary about gathering during a pandemic but they gave me capacity guidelines as well as details on how they clean the space to minimize risk. We came to Ronin 2 for a birthday party and the venue seemed like a nice place. Although it was in a very sketchy part of the city, I still felt pretty safe because there was police around. We rented this venue for a child's birthday. The coordinator was very helpful during the whole process. We were able to do a virtual tour, which was very convenient and the place was surprisingly much nicer in person. I loved the way the main area flows right into the patio. It was just what we needed. Beware of this venue!!! Do not rent their space. They were very unprofessional and had no empathy to the world crisis (pandemic). We had a scheduled rental of their venue for my niece's baby shower my sister paid her deposit and the following week Major Turner mandated masks and social distancing!! At that time she called them and they refused to refund her the money!! I think that places like this should be more considerate of the crisis that we are in and have some type of empathy knowing that this is out our control!! My niece was so upset because this was her and her husband's 1st baby and now not only her family can't be with her doing delivery but this was super stressful trying to get these ppl to refund her money!! And they continued to refuse!! People don't have money doing this time to just throw away like!! I just feel they could have handled this situation a little better and more professional because it's not like my sis cancelled herself!! No this was a city wide mandate!! These types of places should just be closed until this pandemic is over!!
