Doesn't look like much when you drive past - okay, I'm using the canned Yelp message there - and, if you arrive at night, it's likely that you'll drive right past it. The Palladium is located on a one-way freeway frontage road, so you can't make a U-turn to get there if you pass it up. But it's not one to avoid. The Palladium is not a franchise of a nationwide company named after Arthur Murray or Fred Astaire. It's a local concern, and doesn't offer as much as the other two studios I listed. I've gone to their Latin events, and here's what it looks like: They have in-house instructors, and also bring in people from outside Houston. (I wrote about California's Kathy Reyes in two prior reviews, I hope she's reading this and makes the trip to Houston some time!) They have classes, and they have dance parties. Both are run well, charging market rates. Lots of parking. One medium-sized dance floor, two smaller studios. The bar sells drinks, both alky and non-alky. Restrooms are deep in the bowels of the building, down the hall to the left. The people who come are a good company, and are fixinta learn to dance better and to have fun. The social dance community of Houston is smaller than in other cities, so there's much overlap from one instructor to another, and it's likely that you'll meet someone there who you danced with somewhere else. I haven't met any snobs yet, but you can't assume that they won't be there. I first went to the Palladium for New Years Eve. I've been several times since then. The experience was similar to others I've been to in other cities. I've had a good time, and never drove home thinking "well, that was a waste of a hundred mile drive one-way." Beaumont simply has nothing like The Palladium, likely because few people in the Coonie Triangle are interested in ballroom or Latin dancing. Really great dance classes - very friendly to beginners and very easy to follow. Took salsa and bachata classes here and would highly recommend going here. Sign up for classes ahead of time and be sure to account for traffic so that you make it in time for class and if there is a line at the check in. read more

Scheduled a dance class through PassClass for 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM. I arrived a little early around 7 PM just so I can make sure I was there on time. Several of us arrived early only to be told that the class was at 8:30 and they had forgot to update their time. There was no real remorse about having us be there so early.She asked if we were gonna stay because the wasn't gonna start for another hour and a half and went about her day. Some people chose to sit in their car however I was on a tight schedule and had to leave. It was very inconvenient and very unprofessional. read more

This is one amazing venue for Latin dancing and lessons. Highly recommend. Always great atmosphere here and good music.

You might have thought on the outside you pulled up a warehouse, and the signage is nonexistent. The suite is 101 by the way. But it's a Very nice new studio on the inside. The decor is inviting. I watched a couple classes before I took my own class. I do wish there wa a bathroom inside the studio. They sell water for $2 in case you forgot like me! read more

Went to their Salsa Social that's the second Saturday of the month. I loved that they have free lessons and then open 3 dance floors. You can learn and then have fun showing off what you learned. They have rooms dedicated to bachata, zouk, and the largest dance floor is for salsa. Each room has excellent music, some seating, mirrors and a great floor. You can tell they take pride in the place. The instructors are super nice and will show you the basics if you miss the lesson or need a refresher. In the salsa room you can buy water, Gatorade, pop, etc. It's BYOB right now but I didn't notice a lot of alcohol drinking, people were really there to dance. It was fun popping in to each room and dancing with different partners. As a female, it can be frustrating when a guy leaches on to you all night but the men here did not do that. Thwy respectfully asked for a dance and thanked me after each dance. If you happen to get a sticky guy, at least you can escape into one of the other rooms to get away. Somewhere between 11:30 and midnight various dance teams performed the different styles of dance. What an awesome deal. For $15 you can get a dance lesson, dance to excellent music on professional dance floors, and get a highly entertaining show. They also offer a series of dance lessons for various levels so you can take classes and get to know more dancers. I didn't take any photos because I was too busy dancing. I took video of the performances but can't upload videos to Yelp. I am so glad I found this place! read more

Newly moved to Houston and have been looking a dance studio that offered bachata and salsa classes. I found The Palladium, as it is a great place to dance in and I have met a lot of new people and all the staff are very nice. A pair of instructors stood out like a sore thumb though! Leaving a bad taste for this place. I Loved Joey's classed level 1, 1.5, and 2. I took Sebastian's bachata class and it was okay. However, I have taken Keith and Jas/Jaz and DO NOT TAKE THEIR CLASS. First, who in their right mind would give these two permission to even teach a dance class? I have taken dance classes before and by far these two individuals by far have their techniques way off, the guy does some weird moves with his hands and the lady well she is full of herself and VERY RUDE. I am a paying customer, and I do not pay anyone to be rude to me I rather not give my money to that business no matter how much I love it. Although, everyone else is so nice there from staff to students by far if Keith and Jas/Jaz keep on teaching their they will loose clientele. read more

I love this place! Everyone is so welcoming even though it's always scary to try something néw. The instructors are very sweet, patient, and super fun! During covid they make sure everyone is wearing masks at all times and they take your temperature at check in. I love that there are hand sanitizer stations between dance partners so we can still enjoy partner dancing! Love it here! read more

This is the best place I know of to learn salsa, bachata and Cuban-African dances. The instructors are very structured and supportive; especially Oscar, the director. He is always energetic and gives at 100% every lesson and brings out the best in his students. His team doesn't just teach the steps, but also proper technique and styling. The venue is gorgeous! Oscar and Thalia have done an outstanding job renovating this place and my hat goes off to them! However, I've heard from several people that this place is not the most welcoming and I would have to agree. Thalia is the sweetest however, I cannot say the same for Oscar, the owner who runs a tight ship. This man rarely has good things to say about his members but is very quick to criticize. I have been going here for 3 years and am reminded why I dislike it every time I go. The mood is a bit pretentious and having been on a few of their dance teams, it is also not very inclusive. It seems that they have a tight bond with the veteran members but is practically impenetrable amongst any newcomers. You're lucky if you even get greeted by the instructors. Also, the teams do not feel like teams, they feel like work. Dancing used to be really fun before I started coming here. There was absolutely no opportunities to bond or get to know your "teammates" (other than socials which is when most people are dancing and not doing much mingling). The invitations to holiday events seem to be more exclusive to veteran members which also made it worse. My advise is to take the time to get to know your members and "teams" by providing opportunities for bonding and team building outside of dance. I feel this would help improve the high turnover they are currently experiencing on some of their teams by promoting a sense of camaraderie. If you're new or visiting, I would definitely recommend coming here for a class or social however, don't expect to make any friends or feel welcomed. I definitely never did. read more

Great studio to learn how to dance, salsa, bachata, afrco cuban, hip hop. If you have 2 left feet like I do this is the spot for you...lol the instructors are very patient with you and they take their time to teach you. I love it there. It is very spacious and clean great environment over all. I recommend this studio to everyone. read more
