10/10 Experience - A True Gem in Houston!…read more The Community Collective is easily one of the best venues I've worked with in Houston. From start to finish, the team was beyond responsive, communicative, and incredibly flexible with our needs. Every question was answered promptly, every detail was handled with care, and I truly felt like they were as invested in the success of our event as we were. It was so great the first time, we booked it again the following month! Easy to access, parking was perfect! The space itself is beautiful and versatile - perfect for anything from intimate gatherings to larger scale events. But what really sets this place apart is the management. Everything was seamless and well-executed, which made the entire planning process stress-free. Teeba, Ms. Jackie, Patrick, Jerrol and the rest of the Collective team, I am deeply appreciative of you all! If you're looking for a venue where professionalism meets hospitality, this is it! I highly recommend booking your next event here - you'll leave just as impressed and satisfied as I was!

While the company has been around for several years, they've been in this location since 2023. Housed in a thoughtfully repurposed warehouse, the space is raw and full of potential for just about about any setting from weddings to art exhibitions to corporate gatherings. It reminds me of other spots I've seen in other areas of the city, but this location in The Heights makes it a prime location. There is close to 10,000 sq ft of usable space, complete with bathrooms, a waiting / welcome area, bar area, prep kitchen, high ceilings, and function rooms (changing / lounging) and is completely ADA accessible with ramps. While the Wi-Fi and ventilation are a bit on the weak side, I am pleased they're still options. As with many centrally based venues, parking may require coordination for larger attended events, though I suspect the neighboring brewery (#1) may end up taking many of the spots. The neighborhood setting definitely adds to the space's creative energy and being next to a popular BBQ place (#2) doesn't hurt either. Overall, I'm so impressed with the venue and hope to find myself coming back for other events. I have no doubt given the space's versatility, that it can really transform into just about anything. I was an invited guest at an impossibly posh private event here and I was very impressed with the space inside with multiple rooms of upscale decor touches as well as the polite valets that were handling a large crowd efficiently and pleasantly out of doors. I don't know anything about this part of town. The trip down here had mild "first few moments of an episode of Criminal Minds" vibes as the uber driver was taking deserted, dark back alleys through heavily industrial and/or abandoned industrial areas. I was not sure if I was going to find myself carved into pieces and safely stowed in his freezer in what I imagined what would not be a very nice apartment at all or what. But then the abandoned warehouse rows finally parted and then you could see the super upscale looking joint kind of sticking out off in the distance with the bright glam lights and the valet boys hustling about the lot. I don't like large crowds, but if I had to be a part of a large crowd again I would do so in the handsome event space within. It is part industrial Brooklyn nightclub vibes with the wide open spaces and reverberatory noise, but part family bat mitzvah vibes that you could bring everyone and really make it family style for the whole evening. Perfect space for wearing that fancy hat in your life out of the house where you mingle with fancy people where you don't know half of them half as well as you should like; and like less than half of them half as well as they deserve.

It's fancy and it's mostly used for work parties and for rich people. There are two distinct Houstons going on and this is the lucky and more well heeled (boot heeled in some cases) half of the city, the half that ordered the skyscrapers built, such as the amazing one this club is inside, but not the half that actually went up and built them. It's still amazing, even if not to my taste. And the richer half (or 5%, or 1% as the case may be), are missing out on the greatest food in the country hiding away in the poorer and less fancy parts of Houston. Yelpers are missing out on those too.

Onto the food; I went there with my bosses and co-workers, for a total of six people, and we all felt quite comfortable. The food was great. This is sort of an upscale buffet. The duck was delicious (according to my co-worker), the salmon was delicious (according to my other co-worker), the pork chops were delicious (according to my boss), the chicken was delicious (according to me). Yes, I had the blackened chicken-it was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The sides were awesome, creamy sour kraut, devil eggs, asparagus, mashed potatoes, risotto, wild rice, all of which were really good. The salad bar looked good but I did not even bothered. I was too busy with the good stuff. Potato soup, so-so. Desserts: I had the mango crème brulee and I was not impressed, but the butterscotch cake and bread pudding were delicious (according to the mates) Note: You gotta go to the 37th floor and switch elevators to the 39th floor but it is worth it! Note II: My boss picked up the tab since he is a member so I really don't know the amount on the check....sorry about that.

They have a vault on the first floor, this area is used for the VIP section. The food was so good, I especially loved the tenderloin pictured below. There are two flights of stairs near the stage and two at the back, these can be used for a dramatic entry. The chandeliers stand out as do the pillars and the ceiling. When the tables were all set out for dinner the hall looked absolutely splendid. I agree that it was the decorators job, but the it can't be denied that whatever was already part of the hall added to the effect no doubt. Located in Downtown, its at the heart of the city of Houston. In case there are events held there and no food supplied, there are hundreds of bars and restaurants, all you have to do is step out. They had a flight of stairs going to the basement, and a changing room on the same floor, these two I could not explore more, but, judging by the huge, clean restrooms, these must be good. We did face a confusion at the parking though. In the morning when we came in and paid for parking, the guy explicitly told us that if we were coming for the reception after six then we need not pay again, but when we came back in the evening there was different guy who would not honor what was told. Ultimately when we left the venue at 10 pm, exit was free flow as in ticket was not needed, so my guess is the first guy was right. That was an inconvenience that could have been avoided. The wedding was a grand success story and I wish the couple the greatest happiness and I was glad to witness it in this beautiful hall.
