Lovely coffee shop + bookstore in Georgetown! Worked from here for on a rainy afternoon, enjoyed a delicious lunch + coffee and browsed their beautiful wall of books for sale. The cafe is counter service downstairs - place your order, grab your food and beverage, and go upstairs to find seating. I ordered the turmeric chicken bowl which was hearty, filling and delicious! I also got a lavender ube matcha special which was delicious. This spot is known for their matcha drinks, so give one a try, Fast WiFi, ample seating, and a lovely ambiance awaited me upstairs. Maybe this was just an off day, but unfortunately my experience at Flor was a major letdown. We specifically drove from Arlington to Georgetown because we've been searching for an Argentinian-owned bakery/cafe in the DMV for a long time. When I saw Flor describe itself as being inspired by the cafes of Buenos Aires, I was genuinely excited. As someone who loves spending time in Buenos Aires cafes whenever we are in Argentina (which is every year), the idea of having a similar experience close to home felt almost too good to be true. We arrived on a Saturday around 9:00 a.m., just an hour after opening. The cafe was busy but not overwhelmingly crowded, with most people ordering coffee and breakfast sandwiches. To my surprise and disappointment, they had already "sold out" of medialunas. For a cafe that draws inspiration from Argentina, it was hard to understand how one of its most iconic pastries could be unavailable so early in the morning, especially on a weekend. At 9:00 a.m., breakfast service is still in full swing. I would have expected more inventory, a second batch in the oven, or at least some indication that additional pastries were coming. I understand that popular items can sell out, but running out of medialunas so soon after opening felt inconsistent with the experience Flor markets. Since trying their pastries was the entire reason we made the trip, it was genuinely disappointing. Maybe I caught them on an unusual day, but as a first visit, it left me feeling misled and underwhelmed. With so many coffee options closer to home in Arlington, I'm not sure I'd make the drive again. I'll probably stick to the small Argentinian bakery in Alexandria for my medialunas. read more

Originally came for their popular matcha, but 5 stars just for the Steak Empanada alone-authentic and genuinely Argentines make the best empanadas. I ate it so quick and will definitely be getting multiple and different types next time. Got a Berry Matcha which was good. Good quality matcha powder was used and they made the Berry cream fresh from scratch. It took some time to wait since they ran out of berry cream, but I didn't mind. The ambiance, vibe, and upstairs bookstore/seating area really seals the deal- it's such a hidden gem! Next time, I'll try more empanadas and perhaps an Alfajor (Argentine dulce de leche cookie). Pretty interesting flavor combos with their seasonal specials, but I'm unsure that I would pay for the Yuzu Matcha again (over $10 without tip...). Service was pretty standard and there's seating upstairs and at a patio level, but expect to have to wait to find availability during peak hours. Would recommend you to try this place once, but I don't think I would come here again just due to the price. Cute little cafe in Georgetown. There is an indoor area where you order your food and an outdoor area with tables that's outside. I believe they have another upstairs area but I didn't visit. I wouldn't advise being in a rush if you were to visit because it does take a little bit to get your food. My husband and I stumbled across this hidden gem in Georgetown and we are so glad we did! It is a book store/coffee shop and they have the cutest little reading nook upstairs. My husband got a coffee and BLT, I got a peach tea (delicious) and a steak empanada, which I will 100% be going back for. The empanada was amazing! We decided to check out the place and went upstairs to the library/reading nook. They had a ton of books for sale. Most, or all, I noticed, were in Spanish. Super cute up there to get work done or read a book. Then we went to check out the patio, which we ended up eating at! It had lots of tables and most were taken but we found one! The 3rd floor looked to be a great place to get some work done, but they did have policies limiting computer usage (which is fair since the space was fairly small) My fiance and I each tried a coffee, split an almond croissant, and I got a breakfast platter while she opted for a breakfast bowl. And, bathrooms are sparkling clean. As it's a popular place, a line forms, of course, and the front space where ordering is done gets to be pretty crowded. great addition to dc and georgetown. very cute coffee shop, very good coffee. but very popular and they run on their own time - an espresso and drip coffee took 20+ minutes before 9am on the weekend. empanadas are delicious, try as many as you can. the other argentinian pastries were also tasty. but skip the canelé, it's a sweeter version that does not have the proper outside crust. one other gripe is they won't make an iced cortado, but will gladly charge for an iced latte and just put in less milk to get the cortado ratio - never understand why shops do this read more

A great addition to DC's coffee scene. I'll get the one negative out of the way up front - it is extremely popular, which means on a Sunday after, there was a very long line, the place was totally packed shoulder to shoulder, and it took about 25 minutes (!) just to get a coffee. I'm not sure I have ever waited so long in a coffee place. To their credit, the place is well staffed, and they were working hard to get the orders out quick. That said, the space is bright and lovely, they are very welcoming, and it really feels like a third place rather than a soulless corporate coffee spot. Up the stairs there is a nice outdoor seating area in back that was very quiet and laptop friendly. Up another level you'll find the upstairs space, which doubles as a bookstore and seating area. It has a nice mix of tables, couches, and arm chairs. Perfect for reading. They have a no-laptop policy during the lunch rush and all day weekends, so keep that in mind, but as long as you don't need to do work, this is a perfect setting. The coffee is good - the oatmilk macchiato is my fave, but they also have complex seasonal creations if that's your thing, plus an ice cream machine to make affogatos. Cool touch. There is a large selection of pastries and savory dishes on the menu, too. I had a trio of empanadas, which come $5 apiece, and they are very nice. Fresh, served hot, and filling. Found this cute coffe shop/book store while exploring Georgetown and decided to grab a matcha and see how the vibe is there. There was a line nearly out of the door but I stood in it and was not disappointed at all! The service was so kind. The nitro matcha machine was down but my "normal" matcha was still delish! I checked out upstairs and there are books you can buy and plenty of seating available. There is even a kiosk to place your order upstairs. I can see myself returning to relax upstairs with a nice meal (all of their food looked amazing) and enjoy the peacefulness there. Im not sure if there was a way to get upstairs for people with mobility setbacks. I would call beforehand. There was also an outside seating area after going up one flight but the bookstore area is another flight up. read more

Does not live up to the hype- super disappointing visits. The first time I went I ordered the vanilla draft matcha. He started to charge me for vanilla and oat milk, when I asked why he's charging me for a draft latte he said "Oh the draft latte is out of stock, we're making them by hand". Would've been nice to know this before ordering! I just tried it again and was charged 99 cents to add vanilla to my espresso latte, which I couldn't taste. The order was done pretty quickly and then I was able to take my food out to a nice courtyard seating area. There were mosquitos out that day so eventually we moved inside to the reading room which was really nice! If it's not during quiet hours, I recommend sitting in there if you can find a seat.
