This is one of my favorite places to get burgers! All the employees are very friendly and helpful. Do yourself a favor and get the french fries and sweet potato fries! They are unlike any others I've had anywhere else. My favorite burgers they have are the Flipside Burger, the Mikey Burger, and Shawn's Burger. We had a great experience here! The onion rings are amazing. The batter is so full of flavor. The sweet potato fries were delicious also, nice and crispy on the outside. We tried the fried mushroom and asparagus combo- it was ok, nothing to write home about. Both our burgers were delicious. I had the burger with brie which was amazing. My fiance had the mushroom burger with an Impossible Burger patty, which he said was delicious. I am not a frequent reviewer on these sights, but I felt compelled to write after our amazing experience at the Flip Side in Hudson. We had a fairly large group that included several kids, but we were seated almost immediately. Our waitress was very sweet and was extremely accommodating! We all enjoyed our time together as well as our meals. My main reason for posting this review is because of the absolutely amazing follow up service we received from Cat the manager. My husband left his prescription sunglasses on the table and we didn't realize it until we were back home in Colorado. We called the restaurant hoping to have them mailed to us at our cost. Cat went above and beyond her responsibilities and mailed them back on her own dime. We moved away from Ohio 24 years ago... with all of the negative news that we are subjected to on a daily basis, it's nice to know that Hudson is still home to some of the best food, and nicest people we've ever met. I had no idea how small this restaurant was so it made sense that I heard the wait times were so long. Grateful for reading the review that said they used the wait list feature so I quickly went back to Yelp and jumped on. Walked in, gave my name to the hostess and only had to wait until our table was cleared/cleaned. When we left, we overheard that the wait time was an hour. Despite the photo of my Inverted Veggie burger looking lost on the plate, it was filling and just the right amount (the presentation did give me pause). Husband liked his One Red Door burger with Brie cheese and crispy onions. We shared the truffle oil and Parmesan cheese fries (burgers do not include them) and we were fighting over the last crispy remnants! Tempted to try one of their signature shakes but willpower won. My one complaint is how noisy it was. Could barely carry on a conversation. The music where we could only hear the annoying repetitive beat didn't help. I rarely ever say anything bad about a business but, this was the rudest experience I've had with a restaurant in years! I finished Towpath bike trail and wanted to try someplace other than Winking Lizard. I found Flip Side on Yelp. I saw the new "Waitlist" option so entered a time 20 minutes since it was a 15 minute drive. I could not get internet. Waitlist was not completing so I called the restaurant and told them I was trying to get on waitlist reservations but couldn't get internet so I wanted to make reservation for 4. The girl became rude and told me they don't take reservations. Phone was on speaker and my wife looked at me like, "why is she being so rude". Her attitude got me a little upset but, I said nothing about it. I then asked if we got there in 15 minutes how long would wait be. She said no wait. So we drove there. When we walked in we were asked if we were on waitlist. We said yes and gave our name. She said, sorry, your waitlist is only good for 10 minutes and it's expired now and we'll have to wait at least 20 minutes. I said first of all, you told me you didn't take "reservations". Second, you just told me on phone 15 minutes ago if I got here in 15 minutes there would be no wait. I see that after I got internet my waitlist reservation went through. It's actually showing I have 10 more minutes according to your rules. I then asked for the Manager. It took 7 minutes for Manager to come talk to me. I explained all of this. The Manager then said, we don't take reservations. We have. "Waitlist". This upset me even more. I asked why she was going to play semantics with me. I then reminded her the girl on the phone told me there would be no wait when we got here, WITHOUT "RESERVATIONS OR WAITLIST"! The Manager said she'd see if she could get us a table. I told her don't bother and left. I have reviewed so many restaurants across the country and even ones with not so good experiences I still tried to stay positive. This is the worst experience I've had in a restaurant in years. I will never go into this place again. The girl answering the phone could have nicely explained they have a waitlist, not reservations and been honest saying there would be a wait instead of lying. read more

Everything is always very good. The manager Cat is always checking on tables and asking how you're food and drink is. If its not great, she will fix it and make it right without hesitation. Recently got take out and was impressed how well the food held up after the trip back home. Packaged very well. Burger combinations are delicious and the fries are on point. I would open the top of the fry container once you pick it up, otherwise they are a bit soggy once you get them home. Kids and this adult loved the mac and cheese. read more

I called to order and they said it was a 1 hr wait but I was ok ordering so that I can pick it up but the hostess left the phone on the desk for 45 min and never answered the phone. I had to hang up and call back again several times just to get thru. The manager on duty was "Cat" and was busy to take my call. Show some courtesy to your customers if you are busy and don't want to take orders then don't answer the phone but have some courtesy to the customers and show some respect. Probably my favorite burger--and I eat a lot of burgers because of my job. The burger chemistry is what makes them so good. My only suggestion is that take out burgers should be packed deconstructed. Reason is that the burgers are so juicy that by the time you eat them the bottom bun is soaked. Other than that, this is my go to burger place for family and business. read more

I think this was my first local place to "bookmark" on Yelp! I am so glad I read a review & put it on my list! Went there with my boyfriend & son on a Saturday afternoon, 12:30, actually. We took the last table- right away we knew it was meant to be! Others behind us had a long wait, but none of them seemed to care- they waited outside and it was 35 degrees! I nuzzled into my chair, enjoying the bitchin' chairs! The interiors were fabulous! It is very warm & welcoming. I love the tables, chairs, graphics, etc. & the menu is so damn cool! The space itself is small, but well designed! I posted a picture of the bathroom because I liked it so much! We ordered the mac & cheese with brisket for the three of us to share- O M G! I was honestly surprised to see such a place in Hudson. Hudson has had its share of mediocre Italian restaurants, relic restaurants from another era that haven't quite kept pace and so on. Flip Side is actually a great burger place with local ingredients and unique preparation which is common in Cleveland but not in Hudson. The best part is that they not only brought Cleveland food to Hudson, they kept Cleveland prices. Definitely pay it a visit if you're in the area. If you have to drive past Flip Side to head to Bar Cento, don't do it. Save the gas money and enjoy a similar experience closer to home. read more

While visiting family in Hudson I had the chance to eat at Flip Side. I think burgers are a favorite among everyone in the family so this was an easy choice for us to make on where to go for dinner. When we arrived we were greeted quickly and told that we could really sit wherever since so many tables were open. The restaurant itself isn't that big and so I can only imagine what it is like during a busy night. Luckily for us, we could grab a table quickly and not be crammed next to other groups. Our server brought over menus and offered to bring water over while we looked over the menu. She came back with our waters and asked if we needed other drinks. Others ordered beer and iced tea, but I just kept with water. The menu has a lot of burger varieties and some salads too. Since I am a turkey burger person I opted for the one they had with avocado and knew my decision quickly. Others ordered burgers of all sorts and there was a cobb salad on the table as well. The thing I think is strange is that the burgers are served alone and you have to order fries as a separate order which means you are sharing with everyone. It was okay for us to order a basket of fries to share, but if you don't like the people you are dining with or if you don't like sharing this could cause a problem. The basket of fries easily fed 3 of us. The burger I had was really tasty; difficult to eat with my hands, but I made due. I did have to use the fork towards the end since my avocado slid off the burger and I couldn't use my hands to pick it up. From what I remember, the fork was heavy and sturdy. Our sever came to check in on us often and made sure my water was always filled. She did a good job with bringing out refills and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, this is a nice spot in Hudson. I can see why so many people enjoy the food. It is good and fresh. I think the only downside is that fries aren't automatically given with the burger, but again, ordering a basket works if you are willing to share. read more

I flew into town for 30 year High School Reunion and was craving burger to tame the hanger from Kepner's last night and morning work out. A friend recommended this place so I stopped in to check it out. Ponied up to bar and was greeted immediately. I ordered the Infamous One Red Door Burger with side of plain fries. Flip side has the best burgers, fries, and shakes around. I like that you can order all burgers without a bun. My husband and I used to go all the time. My favorite was the Mac and cheese with pulled pork. Even after switching to a mostly plant-based diet, we still went and found their veggie burger to be delicious. My only complaints are that all the fries are prepared in animal fat (which tastes delicious but left us feeling a bit sick), and there's no option for having them prepared any other way. The only other small complaint is that if there's a wait to get in (and there's usually a wait to get in, at least pre-Covid), there's really nowhere to wait, so you're typically forced to wait outside. Pro tip: plan to go between 1:30 and 5 to beat the crowds. read more
