We love finding these little gems while we're on vacation! What a great place on the square! There were tours going on or a pub crawl, so there were lots of people on the street. The place was packed but we were seated quickly and told up front that it may be a few minutes and asked for our patience. That's all I need!! Honest and upfront! These folks were working their tails off! Seemed like everyone walked in at the same time and slammed them. Truly, they didn't miss a beat! Well worth the short wait! Everything was fantastic! Hubs got a pasta, daughter got strips and I had a BLT wrap and the most amazing mashed sweet potatos with a brown sugar cinnamon topping. The Mac & cheese looked so good we had to get that just to try it! Holy cow!! Check this place out!! You will not be disappointed! Side note, seeing all the burgers go by, they must be the rave. The food was great and we received very generous portions. I don't think I've ever had such a giant piece of chicken on a small bun; next time I will ask for it to be cut in half for easier consumption. Hubby really enjoyed his Maple Bacon Burger and the fries here are excellent! We sat in the window which made for great people watching. Had my yummy Lemon Vanilla Bourbon Smash been cheaper, we would have stayed longer to enjoy the sights. I love the Steak Salad, Asiago Chicken Sandwich and MY FAVORITE is the Mediterranean Veggie Pita Wrap... O M G! You may remember this restaurant as Main Street Cafe but if you haven't been there since then, you need to go back. The makeover alone is worth the visit! Came here for an early dinner after a Castle Noel visit. Easy walking distance and right on the Public Square (hence the name) which is adorable for pics as well! Lucked out and got a nice happy hour discount on our appetizers and we ordered three which was a good amount for our party of 7 (including two kids): soft pretzels, spinach and cheese dip, and stuffed mushrooms - all excellent! I ordered the chef selection sandwich which was a crispy chicken sandwich and it was very good. I really enjoyed their rosemary fries but not everyone in our party did - the kids meals come with regular but still tasty fries so perhaps ask for that if rosemary is not your thing. read more

If I could give 10 stars, I would. We were seated right away. The atmosphere is a whole vibe...love this place. Our waiter Shawn (or is it Sean) was awesome and made great recommendations. The dirty martini was perfect. The food was delicious and I mean all of it. We ordered a lot of things! The pretzels, stuffed peppers and Mac are all awesome. The 17 Special handheld was chicken with Brie and pistachio cream and other amazing accoutrements...it was outstanding. My wife suggested dinner at 17 Public Square recently. We arrived just before the dinner rush and were promptly seated. They offer Pepsi products, so I requested a Mountain Dew. As an appetizer, I requested stuffed peppers. For dinner, I requested the arugula salad, my wife, a burger and fries, and my son, fried chicken with mac n cheese. We were told that the chicken would take approximately 25 minutes to prepare and my son was okay with that. Five minutes later, the appetizer was delivered. The stuffed peppers were tasty and I very much enjoyed them. The rest of the food was served about 10 minutes after that. I requested my arugula salad with no blue cheese and it was basically a large plate of arugula with a vinagarette dressing on the side. It had some sliced dates in it. The salad was not balanced. It was just mouthfulls upon mouthfulls of arugula. This salad needs to be revamped and I don't recommend it with or without the blue cheese. My wife's hamburger was delicious and the fries were good. My son really enjoyed his chicken and mac n cheese. We'll be back to try more items. read more

Handmade 1/2 lb burgers cooked perfectly on toasted brioche buns with homemade rosemary fries. Some of the best chicken tenders we ever had. Locally sourced juicy chicken in crispy homemade buttermilk breading. Maple burger was good but lacked the sweetness I was hoping for. Will try the Bacon fig burger next time. read more

Super cute bar/restaurant right on the square. We were able to get a table for lunch quickly . Took a few minutes for a server to get drink orders and meals were out in about 20 minutes. We got burgers for lunch and they were yummy, come with rosemary fries which gives the underlying aromatics of the whole place. Looking forward to trying other menu items. While I was in town, I decided to check out 17 Public Square! Let me tell you, this place is a hidden gem! Bartender Chris was so friendly and provided such great service, for that alone, I would be back to dine in! I wasn't that hungry, but the stuffed peppers and fried chicken plate sounded really good, so I ordered both! More leftovers to bring home, which I was okay with! The stuffed peppers could have been a meal in itself due to the portion size! It had the perfect amount of spice to it and the red sauce was a perfect addition to the dish. The fried chicken took a little longer to cook, but was so worth the wait!! Crispy on the outside and the meat was so juicy on the inside! Plus, the pairing of hot sauce and honey on the side made it even more unique! I can't forget the mac & cheese that came along with this plate! It was amazing!! Check this place out! read more

This used to be a great go to place in Medina. No more. Gone are the booths that were conducive to relaxation, replaced by jittery high stools conducive to leg cramps instead. The floor is highly waxed, giving the feeling of being on ice as table and chairs slide effortlessly around if you shift your position. We ordered drinks and appetizers initially. Apps were pretty good, drinks felt more like mocktails. At $10 our maple old fashioneds had zero hint of bourbon, just very sweet. If you order fries, be prepared- they are heavily salted and the rosemary is overwhelming. Yuck. Burgers were ok, nothing special. All in all, an expensive disappointment. I try to be as straight up as possible when I review things so let's get into it. I love this place. The alcohol? Well-priced. The food? Absolutely stellar. I'm partial to the Mac and Cheese with Honey Sriracha Chicken. I would eat that every couple days if I wouldn't ballon up to 350 lbs. The service? Fast, friendly, knowledgeable. Rebecca (The Bar Manager) is amazing and we went out of our way to sit at the bar just to hang with her. The ambiance/vibe? Relaxed, friendly, classy. Let's phrase it like this, you'd want to take someone here on date night. I come here at least once every two weeks and if I lived within walking distance, I'd be coming here more than I should. My party of 4 got there at noon when the doors opened. I felt like I was served yesterday's left-over cheeseburger with bacon (that I did not order). It was dry and with old, brown lettuce and lifeless dried out red onions; not crispy. The waiter said I did not have to eat it and "they would just give it to someone else", while he made me the correct burger. I wanted to dine with my party and not sit there and watch them eat their lunch. I started eating it and was not charged for the bacon. I took half home. Mass confusion as I walked into the place. Even though there were people enjoyably sitting at the tables and servers starting at me, I couldn't figure out the status of this establishment. Was it open? Was it closed, was it in the twilight zone? After about 7 minutes milling around uncomfortably, going up and down between a level of the restaurant, a server approached (finally) to tell us that the kitchen was already closed and they only have 30 minutes left and if that wasn't enough time then we shouldn't sit down. That would have been more than enough time for me to pound a nice cold brew but I did not feel welcome. I felt as if the "eyes" of 17 square was on me and it didn't like me. Please wait to be seated? If you're a vegan, vegetarian or gluten-free, there are really not any options. I ended up having a plain baked potato. However, when they bring any kind of accoutrements, it comes in little plastic container, so I felt like I was eating at a table but really eating takeout. I went here on Halloween night. At 7pm there were only two waitresses handling about 20 tables and there was only one cook too. They were running around and thanking people for their patience. One customer stood up and asked us all to tip them well and clap for them which we did. I just wanted to write here as well and thank them for doing their job so well while short staffed. Growing up in Medina I visited this restaurant as it was formerly Main Street cafe I believe, I always found it beautiful and classy but stuffy. We chose to visit after the remodel and I was highly impressed with the update of the dining area and entire restaurants, some of the same aesthetics were kept but it is now much more modern and comfortable. I love having 17 Public square in Medina! The burger and fries we ordered were delicious and the waitress even had the chef split the burger in half for my sister and I! The seasonal cocktail options were unique and yummy and the waitress helped us choose, she was absolutely accommodating. The service was superb and you could tell the staff was all friendly and happy to be working there! I can't wait to bring family and friends back! read more

Not sure what happen within the year .. but the fries are gross and so greasy... our bacon fig burger was missing the bacon and the server said that they were short staffed .. and didn't even do anything about it... my food was suppose to come with a salad... and did not ... my kids burgers were dry... they didn't eat them. I used to worked at this location when it was Main Street Cafe years ago and I wanted to check out the new 17 Public Square when I was in town for the holidays. Great customer service. Our server was fantastic. He was very polite and had great energy. The ambiance was cool and sleek with the rustic/historic architecture of the building exposed. The food was great!
