I went when they first opened and it was underwhelming. But I gave it another go and was blown away. Obsessed with the categories and way they've built out their cocktail menu. Everything I tried I loved. The vibe was perfect and the bartender was very knowledgeable and helpful. We placed an appetizer order and never got it....didnt even care. Drinks are so good.

Had a great first experience at Hemingway's Underground. Upon walking in at the street level, you descend a flight of stairs and suddenly you're in this cozy intimate space with exposed brick columns, and quirky decor. Despite being underground, the natural light from the entrance windows gives it a warm inviting glow. The bar itself is large and impressive With bartenders who clearly know their craft. Lots of cozy seating on the floor as well. The bartenders were knowledgeable, friendly, and made great suggestions from the extensive cocktail menu. The drinks are not just good, they are creative and inspiring. What really surprised me was the food. I wasn't expecting a full menu in a cocktail lounge, but they offer everything from soups and salads to appetizers and hearty Italian pasta entrées. The chef even came out to greet us, which added such a personal touch. Every dish we tried was excellent, and the homemade tiramisu was the perfect finale! Overall Hemingway's underground strikes the perfect balance of the atmosphere, drinks, and food. Whether you're here for cocktails, dinner, or both, it's a spot worth discovering and revisiting.

It's so exciting to have such an upscale cozy vibe nearby! The food and service are on point and the cocktails were wonderful. We will visit often!

The atmosphere is seriously cool moody lighting, funky decor and this cozy, speakeasy vibe that just feels elevated without trying too hard.

The staff couldn't have been more welcoming. I originally came for the Mexican street corn and also ended up trying the tortilla soup. It had just the right amount of spice and was loaded with shredded chicken. I also ordered the Tinga chicken tacos, which came in as 3 soft tacos. Great portion-size. We asked if they had any homemade hot sauce in the back, and they brought some out--great heat, great flavor. We got homemade guacamole, which tasted incredibly fresh, like something you'd get in Mexico. My lunch partner had the Barbados Street Tacos, and there wasn't a single thing either of us could complain about. Will return.

The vegetables in seemed to be boiled or steamed before added to the fajita grill. They were colorless and mushy. The tortillas appeared to have been microwaved and were dried out and crumbly. Not good! My other half had the chicken burrito bowl and said it was very good, so there's that. The margarita flight was good as well. Based on appearances this place should knock it out of the park. It's got a long way to go, IMO.

We ordered the BBQ pulled pork nachos for an appetizer and they were delicious. We ordered two flights so we could try every pizza option. Six varieties. We were curious about the pickle pizza but it was actually in the top three of the six. The pizzas are 5" so great for sharing and having just 1-2 small slices to try of each kind. There is a lot of bready crust. It's really soft and light with a good flavor. If you like thick crust you'll love it. We tend to like thinner crust pizzas but neither my husband or I were turned off by these bc it was a good tasting crust. The toppings were just an adequate amount. I would have liked to have just a bit more on several of the six varieties. The serve them with dipping sauces and you'll use it for most of the pizzas. The thick bready crust is the reason in my opinion. We ended up having leftovers to take home. In order of preference I would say 1) The Farmer 2) The Pickle 3) The hot honey pepperoni 4) The Mac n Cheese 5) The Reuben and 6) Farmer Fresh Caprese. Why? The farmer had good flavor and a good amount of toppings. The pickle was something different and had good flavor and enough sauce on its own. The hot honey took care of your pepperoni pizza lover but could have had a little more pepperoni and hotness. The Mac n cheese was the best topped and had a great creamy cheesiness to it. The Reuben would have gotten higher marks if there had been enough toppings for you to know you were eating a Reuben. Far too sparse for someone that loves Reuben's. I'm not a tomato girl so I didn't even make it to the caprese. It looked fine. My husband tried it. I guess I'll know how it was tomorrow when I try it as a leftover. The waitress did an ok job. They didn't come back for water refills often enough. I ran out once asked for a refill, ran out again before we were done and she never asked if I'd like another. Would have been great if they just walked around with a water pitcher but they did not. They would take it to refill and bring it back. Definitely needed more attention to that. The place smelled wonderful when we were headed in. Could totally smell the BBQ in the air on your way in from the parking lot. All in all the food was good, the place was clean and the staff were friendly. We would come back to try some other items we saw on the menu.

They only do them on Wednesdays, which was perfect. This place is so nice!!! It's all wide open with plenty of seating. Their menu looks amazing. I love to get soft pretzels as an appetizer from places ONLY if they are made in-house. These are, and they are fabulous. Oh my, I would go back just for the pretzels! The pizza flights - you get to choose three 5-inch pizzas out of five options. The ones we chose were very good and they each came with dipping sauces. They have a 2-sided beer tap wall that has craft beers, ciders, and wines, and all are from local places. Our waitress was great - she was so sweet, knowledgeable and very attentive. Some of the best service we have had in a long time. I have added this as a must-go-back place so I can try some more of the menu items that looked delicious.
