My friend specifically ordered a double vodka shot in a short glass but received it in a tall glass, therefore watering down the drink. As for food, we shared the marinated feta appetizer and the charcuterie board. Both were good but the charcuterie only had one serving of meat (salami) and the rest were olives, peppers, cheese and grapes. For $19, we were expecting a little more. One of the cheeses, the largest portion, was a very spicy pepper cheese that none of us really enjoyed. The dip was very good - no complaints. We also ordered three pizzas. Our friend got the chicken pesto which he said was ok but nothing great. My husband got the short rib which he enjoyed. I did a make your own, which had literally no flavor at all. The crust was good but that was about it. I suppose that's my fault for picking the toppings but I thought it would taste better than it was. As for service - it was very slow and they were very inattentive. I wouldn't come back here or recommend it. I think as a restaurant that advertises for its drinks and pizza, both were lacking.

My mom is impossible to shop for, so I was super excited when I came across this Mother's Day special on the Akron Glass Works Facebook page. It is a beautiful old church converted into and art space right off of the University of Akron campus. There were about 12 people total with two instructors for the group. They gave a demonstration and then thoroughly went over all the steps with an emphasis on safety. I was a little nervous working with molten hot glass, but the professionalism of the instructors set me at ease. They're by your side the whole time... but you're actually creating the piece yourself. I have been to other glass blowing studios where the instructors are so hands-on, that you feel like you took no part in the entire process. Not this place. I definitely felt like I was making something and they were just there to make sure I didn't burn my hand off. The whole process took less than an hour and our pieces were available for pickup the next day. We each got to make two glass flowers which all turned out beautifully.
