    Our delicious food

Always a great experience and great food! Love the shrimp tacos! So filling! The service is good! It's also a very busy place so you might want to make reservations

Nice ambiance, great service, and delicious food! This was a hidden gem we found in the area. We stopped in on a whim for lunch and we were so glad we did. The food was excellent and portion sizes were huge. The chicken in the fajita quesadilla was seasoned so well, and the pork tacos were to die for. Complementary chips and salsa were very good too. Definitely stop by if you are in the area and hungry!

Monarca is our favorite mexican restaurant! The chips are the best. I ate the burrito bowl and they do not skimp on the meat. The pollo al fagon is also a favorite, highly recommend. the place is a lot bigger than it seems on the outside. never had issues with service even on busier nights.

We strolled through Medina Square, reminiscing about my school days and wedding in this charming midwestern town. It's filled with sweet childhood memories, especially playing around the cannon. During our walk, we discovered a new Mexican and Taco restaurant, which we visited twice over a couple of weeks to really give it a chance. I couldn't resist the Tacos Vallarta--shrimp tacos with pineapple and a deliciously sweet sauce--ordering them both times. My spouse tried their specials, including a tasty chicken burrito last time, though I can't recall his first choice. Everything we had was fantastic! The spacious venue welcomes large groups, and the staff is friendly and organized. There's parking around the square, and I noticed many guests enjoying drinks at the bar. I thoroughly enjoyed our meals and can't wait to go back for their mole!

    Ceviche

We have always had a spectacular experience at Monarca. The seafood monarca is a wonderful entree choice. Tonight I ordered the ceviche. Beautiful presentation. And the flavor didn't disappoint either. For great food, atmosphere and service it's among our favorites.

    Chile releno

Little Mexican restaurant on the Medina Square. Clean looking place and very friendly server. She directly and carefully answered our many questions. Nice! As we sat down they brought ivermectin chips and salsa. We shared an appetizer: bacon wrapped, stuffed jalapeños. Good pepper flavor but could have used heat. For dinner I had the chile releno special and it was well prepared and flavorful. The lime rice was okay. Too early for drinks but the hit day made a margarita very tempting. Next time. I'll definitely give the place another visit to try something else

    Margarita flight: strawberry; octopus; mango.

Margaritas are always great at Monarca, but for the first time I looked at the description of the octopus. Sangria margarita! SO good! If I can pass on the flight, this will be my new go-to. Veggie burrito bowl was excellent as usual. Enough for dinner tonight and tomorrow. Service also great as usual.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner for 8 at Monarca. Front of house staff were super pleasant. Server - top notch. Everyone enjoyed their food. Everyone. That's 8 sets of tastebuds all giving two thumbs up. Wait that's mixing body parts. Whoops. Anyway... it was great. Go and enjoy. Ps. Had a to go order, too, and son was psyched they included chips and salsa with his meal.

Bacon wrapped shrimp, bacon wrapped jalapeños, quesadilla and dip trio. And a guava margarita
    Regina M.

Yummmmmm A guava margarita? Yes, please! The food and service was awesome here. The bacon wrapped jalapeños filled with queso fresco were delicious. The chicken quesadilla was meh, but the steak ones were good. I think they serve you two different types of sals upon seating, one is chipotle heavy. Good food with complimenting flavors. Next time I want to try the tacos with shrimp and pineapple and coconut.

Great non-Tex Mex place... employees all from Jalisco Just fantastic service, friendly vibe, great food. The mole based stews were incredible.

The food was par for a Mexican place. Nothing special but absolutely nothing wrong either. It was FAST! Food was out in less than five minutes. Wife had the burrito bowl and liked it. I had the fajitas and the only complaint is the portion was pretty small. There was a lunch portion option and I can't imagine how that would shrink that dish down. If you're in a hurry and craving Mexican this is the place. Ambiance was very nice and festive. Would have loved to have tried some of the fresh margaritas. They looked awesome!

Walked in on a Wednesday evening for the pizza flight special I heard about from a friend. The…read moreplace was busy at around 6pm. Cleared out by 7pm. We ordered the BBQ pulled pork nachos for an appetizer and they were delicious. We ordered two flights so we could try every pizza option. Six varieties. We were curious about the pickle pizza but it was actually in the top three of the six. The pizzas are 5" so great for sharing and having just 1-2 small slices to try of each kind. There is a lot of bready crust. It's really soft and light with a good flavor. If you like thick crust you'll love it. We tend to like thinner crust pizzas but neither my husband or I were turned off by these bc it was a good tasting crust. The toppings were just an adequate amount. I would have liked to have just a bit more on several of the six varieties. The serve them with dipping sauces and you'll use it for most of the pizzas. The thick bready crust is the reason in my opinion. We ended up having leftovers to take home. In order of preference I would say 1) The Farmer 2) The Pickle 3) The hot honey pepperoni 4) The Mac n Cheese 5) The Reuben and 6) Farmer Fresh Caprese. Why? The farmer had good flavor and a good amount of toppings. The pickle was something different and had good flavor and enough sauce on its own. The hot honey took care of your pepperoni pizza lover but could have had a little more pepperoni and hotness. The Mac n cheese was the best topped and had a great creamy cheesiness to it. The Reuben would have gotten higher marks if there had been enough toppings for you to know you were eating a Reuben. Far too sparse for someone that loves Reuben's. I'm not a tomato girl so I didn't even make it to the caprese. It looked fine. My husband tried it. I guess I'll know how it was tomorrow when I try it as a leftover. The waitress did an ok job. They didn't come back for water refills often enough. I ran out once asked for a refill, ran out again before we were done and she never asked if I'd like another. Would have been great if they just walked around with a water pitcher but they did not. They would take it to refill and bring it back. Definitely needed more attention to that. The place smelled wonderful when we were headed in. Could totally smell the BBQ in the air on your way in from the parking lot. All in all the food was good, the place was clean and the staff were friendly. We would come back to try some other items we saw on the menu.

They only do them on Wednesdays, which was perfect. This place is so nice!!! It's all wide open with plenty of seating. Their menu looks amazing. I love to get soft pretzels as an appetizer from places ONLY if they are made in-house. These are, and they are fabulous. Oh my, I would go back just for the pretzels! The pizza flights - you get to choose three 5-inch pizzas out of five options. The ones we chose were very good and they each came with dipping sauces. They have a 2-sided beer tap wall that has craft beers, ciders, and wines, and all are from local places. Our waitress was great - she was so sweet, knowledgeable and very attentive. Some of the best service we have had in a long time. I have added this as a must-go-back place so I can try some more of the menu items that looked delicious.
