    Holy Guacamole with mango--yum!
    Kim F.

My wife and I have been coming here for years and we couldn't say enough about the quality of the food, the great service we always get, and the overall cheery atmosphere! The menu has changed since I first came here in 2017, but the food seems to get better each time we return. My go-to used to be the Courthouse burrito (renamed the Triple Play), and I've enjoyed the street tacos as well as their chicken chimichanga. My most recent discovery was the chicken chimichanga--so delicious! The chicken was nice and tender and the flavor of the crispy tortilla wrapped around it was incredible! My rice was nice and fluffy instead of dry or mushy and I requested black beans (I don't care for refried)--all very flavorful and delivered hot. Oh--and I can't forget to mention their Holy Guacamole! It came served in a large bowl and I asked for the cubed mango--so fresh, chunky and very tasty! Our server this last visit was so pleasant and attentive, just like everyone else we've had in the past. It was his first day on the job, but you'd never know it. I might also note that we like coming here for the food and service, but it's also very clean. We were happy to bring our out-of-town family here a couple years ago and they, too enjoyed their visit. It was a large group of nine of us (we called ahead)--and the food and service were just as we expected. Quality food and service that's consistently good--it's our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area!

Excellent fajitas! The table salsa was exceptional, and definitely generous portions! Bonus points they serve Pepsi not Coca-Cola. Mid afternoon vibe is very calm and quiet with some on brand background music.

We had a good time at this restaurant. Lots of space and a separate bar with low room noise that made it easy to talk. We had dinner with two other couples. Free chips and salsa at the table. Both were solid if unspectacular. The peach margarita (frozen) was great. Possibly my favorite marg ever. I also really enjoyed the camarones a la diabla. A good amount of heat and plenty of shrimp. She had chicken fajitas and really like how the chicken came out; piping hot and juicy. Dropped a star for very slow service in getting orders taken and drinks delivered. She was nice enough but orders took way long on a night that was not overly busy.

Decided to check this place out during my stay in Ohio. Heard great things about their birria tacos, so gave it a try. For $15.99, it comes with a choice of rice/bean and 3 decent sized birria tacos with sauce to dip in. First few bites were truly amazing, but they are little bit too greasy as you eat more and more that I think the sufficient amount is max 2 tacos. Anyways, the taste was good still! Recommend checking out this place and try birria tacos if you are nearby!

This has been the most authentic Mexican restaurant we have found in this area. We come to visit my boyfriends mom and this place took us by suprise. Needed to grab a quick bite to eat, this will be out go to place from now on. They have great lunch combos that are around $10. The salsa was very flavorful as well as the rice and beans.

First time here and it was pretty dang good. I got cielo, Mary Tierra which had a ribeye, chicken, and shrimp, it came with rice and a guacamole salad. It was really good and very filling. The service was amazing. Our friends come here kinda often and suggested it for our double date night. Everyone loved their meals.

We discovered Amigos a couple years ago, when seating was very limited, but they recently expanded and the decor is more inviting and authentic. We've tried a lot of things on this menu and have never been disappointed. Our food has always been fresh and plentiful, served with a smile. Two things I can ecstatically recommend: their house guacamole and their margaritas. Their hearty and bold guacamole is made fresh to order right at your table and it's become our favorite guacamole. We love their mango margaritas. We have found chunks of mango in ours, and make certain to always get the rims coated with tajin because they use tamarind to get the spice to stick to the rim--so tasty! This is a really enjoyable restaurant we always look forward to visiting!

Agavero is located in the large shopping plaza along Howe Avenue in a couple of store fronts. Inside is a medium sized restaurant decorated with orange walls and wood with larger paintings on the walls, the feeling is nicely Mexican without being hokey or over the top. The menu is extensive and prices are reasonable. I ordered the #4 lunch special, a Chile Relleno with rice and beans. Chips and salsa were quickly brought to the table; both were ok the chips were fresh and the salsa was thick and mild, I did add some hot sauce to spice it up. My lunch came out very quickly, the plate was pretty and the food was nicely fresh and hot. The Chile Relleno was interesting, with no batter and a very mild chili pepper. The Salsa Verde on top was bright and vibrant. The beans and salsa were both good with mild flavors and nice texture. Overall the food was good, although the flavors were a bit muted for my taste. Agavero is a nice place to grab some solid Mexican food, but I did find the food to be a bit tame. Prices are good and the service was great, but I am always looking for bright and exciting flavors.

The cocktails are creative, balanced, and reasonably priced -- I had the hibiscus mezcal margarita, which had an incredible depth of flavor. For my main, I ordered the Cena de Tacos, which comes with your choice of two out of five sides. I went with a creamy corn bowl and a side of Mexican rice -- both rich, flavorful, and comforting. My wife ordered the shrimp bowl with rice, which was just as delicious. What really stands out here is the authenticity -- every bite tastes like it was crafted with care and respect for traditional Mexican cooking. The interior is classy and modern, yet relaxed enough to feel comfortable. I also love the thoughtful touch of their craft beers being named after social justice initiatives. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. Despite the restaurant being nearly full -- she was quick to serve. If you're looking for genuine Mexican flavors served in an elegant but welcoming setting, Battleground is a must-visit.

But alas, I don't think we will return to The Battleground. The service was awkward. The hosts and our waiter were, for a lack of better words, socially awkward young men dressed like they just left school and may have tossed their backpacks behind the hostess stand. It was a weird contrast for the slightly upscale prices and interior they present. The waiter seemed nervous, which, in itself isn't a bad thing, but they awkwardly lingered when it wasn't necessary and was hard to get their attention when we needed our check and to pay the bill. The food and drinks were a mixed review. The Battleground margaritas were delicious. The chips and salsa were not great, we mostly got a basket of tortilla shards. My partner got three tacos--carne azada, al pastor, and fish. His big takeaway was, "they're not very hot (temperature) and they're kind of bland." Similarly, we got the margs "spicy," but my Texas palate said, "this is spicy?" It had a tajin rim, from what I can figure. ...Maybe we're not the normal Ohioan clientele. A bright note, the refried black beans and esquites were awesome and the esquites big enough to share. I ordered the Pescado Veracruz, the plating and sides were good but the mahi mahi was chewy and only slightly above room temperature. Like I said earlier, maybe I did myself a disservice by hoping to find my new favorite Mexican restaurant... but, I just don't see us going back for great margaritas and sides.

This time I was inspired to look for a Mexican ceviche. In my most recent adventure, I visited Taqueria La Loma in Akron and very much enjoyed my meal. After ordering from the counter, I sat down and was quickly given some fresh chips and salsa to snack on. Although these were delicious, I probably should have passed on this because what I ordered was much more that I could eat alone. I was impressed by the flavor and value of the Mixed (shrimp and octopus) Ceviche, and would absolutely suggest it to anyone. I'd never had octopus ceviche before, and was concerned about chewiness, but was pleasantly surprised at how tender it was. I assume the shrimp ceviche is similarly good. I also ordered 3 birria tacos. I found there was maybe slightly too much cheese in the taco, but the tasty consomé dip was impressive. To wash it all down, I had one of the best horchata drinks I've ever had in my life. It was sooo good and a must-have. The staff was attentive and helpful, and the food came out quickly. The restaurant was basic, but clean, and looks like the kind of authentic place you'd want to go for a casual but tasty Mexican food meal.
