Came in on a Wednesday. Literally nobody was in besides 8 other people. Didn't even get acknowledged for 10 minutes, nobody came over or said anything. Ended up leaving since the 2 kitchen guys even walked past us and said nothing. Tried Herman's with my parents this week. I had the fish and chips. 3 pieces of fish. Cooked well but a little small. My mom had the Pierogi meal and she loved it. Definitely a bigger meal. My dad had the BLT. It was big but a little messy for him. Great service and cool bar area. We sat in the upper lounge area with the pool tables. That was below average seating but the lower bar area looked much better. Very pleasant experience overall. Clean, good food and good service. read more

Herman's is a cool laid back neighborhood bar. Solid bar food,decent draft beer selection,good friendly service and you can literally eat off the floor..very clean and inviting spot and a place to definitely check out if you live in the Brunswick area. Love Hermans! No matter how busy, food is always great & fast even when crowded. Clean, clean, clean!!!

Stopped in for lunch today, was glad to see somebody with reasonable prices and food open for lunch around where I live and work. The wings are awesome, jumbo size and the mild sauce has the right amount of bite. I had a classic chicken sandwich with BBQ and while its only chicken, the poultry was juicy and the sandwich was large. Fries were cooked as requested and hit the spot. The inside of the establishment has been completely gutted and upgraded, definitely a huge difference. Two brand new pool tables on the upper level. Don't let the outside appearance of a strip mall discourage you, the inside is very nice. They have a Touch Tunes machine, a number of Flat Screens both above the bar, along the back side and then will be installing a few more on the other wall (opposite the bar). I have driven by and there were a number of people there, so it looks like people are giving it a try. Definitely not Rico's kind of crowd a little more upscale than that I would suspect. I concur that I hope Brunswick Hills doesn't impact this, its definitely a great addition to the corner of this side of town. We ordered the Philly Burger and the Gyro Burger. Both came out hot off the grill and cooked to order. Fries were also nice and hot. We're here on a Saturday early evening and were able to get two seats at the bar with OH-IO playing in the NCAA tourney. read more

i went out last night with my buddy Luke. we started at one end of Brunswick but that establishment didn't serve food (and i hadn't eaten) so Luke suggested Herman's. I remember when this was Buddy's and I'd been there once over 15 years ago. I ordered a Miller Lite and had a Herman-ator burger (8oz smoked bbq pulled pork, slaw, pepper jack cheese w/ lettuce, tomato and onion also). The burger was huge and potentially messy. I managed to eat it without making a mess and i have to say it was delicious. the french fries were cooked perfectly and i wish i'd had a few more. it's so rare to find a perfectly cooked french fry - crispy but not over cooked. i'd say it's a safe bet I'll be back. i worry about smaller places like this so I hope people in the area get out and give it a try. it's worth your time. read more

We had high hopes . . . another pleasant local pub for a beer and a good burger, some tasty fried goodies, a little music . . . But alas, Herman's is not that place. Saturday's late lunch turned into an assault on our senses. The music was too loud to talk over, except for the obviously drunk guy with the foul mouth - a continuous blast of profanity that, in a classier place, would have been quickly handled by bartender or management. Alarmingly, that 'gentleman' stumbled into his pickup and drove off just as we were leaving. I wish we'd thought to get his license number and call the police. I hope he made it home. The food was a huge disappointment - the typical fried items (surely from a plastic bag) were as expected, and the fish was tolerable. But the burger was just nasty - it seemed to be some sort of pressed and formed meatlike mush; there was no discernable ground beef texture or taste, just soft pale goo on a bun. Yuck. Our waitress was pleasant enough, but distracted and rushed, even though it was not crowded. The bathrooms were clean (yay) and there were plenty of TV screens. All in all, not a place we'll visit again. Sorry. I wanted to like it. read more

We were not much of bad goers before moving to Brunswick. We sheepishly came into Herman's one day. It was a little dark and we thought we might stand out. We were pleasantly surprised. Everyone who works here is super friendly. Amy, Andrea, Rob, Russ, Chelsea and Matt are amazing people. Their prices are low and you start to feel comfortable right after your first beer. It doesn't have a corporate feel like most other places in Brunswick. The staff comes out to B.S. with you even when you don't need a refill. Give their Parmesan garlic wings a shot as well as their gyros. Warning: they use serious garlic in the gyro sauce. Do not be fooled by this restaurant and pub not having flashy signs. The food here is incredible, the employees and owner are amazing. If you have any problems they will make it right. There is something here for everyone. Also, you have to get one of their gyros. Remember any place in Brunswick, Strongsville or Parma, where you may have "liked" a gyro. Herman's, hands down has the best gyro you will ever have. This is an ultimate place to grab dinner, drinks, or catch a game on their dozens of TV's inside and out. Ehh. That's pretty much what I thought of my experience here. I was disappointed based on all of the good reviews from here, Facebook, etc. The place was pretty busy and there were times when we had a fairly long wait(to get our food and refills), but I don't blame the waitresses. They were doing the best they could given the crowd inside and outside. I got a burger and felt it was a little dry. It maybe could have used some mayo and there wasn't much flavor to it, but it was a larger burger. The fries were good, but lukewarm. The crowd appeared to be more 40+ and I'm guessing quite a few were regulars. The air conditioning was running almost the whole time, which chilled both my husband and I. He got a gyro and had no complaints. The prices were decent. We had both meals and soft drinks for under $20. read more
