I met up with a friend for a lunch date. She had researched this place online and suggested it. I looked on Yelp and didn't find the greatest reviews so I was a bit apprehensive. I believe you always have to see for yourself so I said sure let's do it. We had fun walking in looking around and checking out the old bank vault. When we first arrived there were people seated at the table in there but they left right after we were seated so we went in to get a closer look and take a couple pics. Our waitress came over right away and was friendly. She had just started working there a few weeks ago so she was honest when I asked her what her favorite menu item was. She pointed out a couple of sandwiches on their fall seasonal menu. I actually was considering a burger that was close to the Monster Mash burger that was on the seasonal menu so I went with it. I also substituted my fries for the fried pickle chips. (Great choice) It seemed to take a bit for the food to come out after we ordered but that gave us plenty of time to catch up. Our server kept our water glasses full and checked back in with us more than once. The food was hot. The burger was cooked as I had requested. It was a fun twist for the season. I liked that the black pepper aioli wasn't overpowering. The pepper jack cheese was a good choice with the grilled banana peppers. The pastrami with the burger was a good balance. The pickle chips were good. I like that they had a dill dip served with them instead of the ranch you typically get. It was a nice flavor compliment. My friend enjoyed her "it's gonna be good" burger. She said it was very cheesy which I was glad to hear since it's basically a grilled cheese sandwich with a burger added to it. Nothing worse than getting a non cheesy grilled cheese. All in all we enjoyed our lunch and I wouldn't see any reason not to return. read more

I wish I could leave a positive review for this place. I've walked past it several times and was finally told by my sister today not to even bother giving it a try. She and her friend went there but didn't even make it past the entrance. The waitstaff and bartenders saw them but made no effort to seat them. Even other customers seemed confused as to why they weren't being helped. My sister and her friend are Black, and while I'm hesitant to label the establishment as racist, for lack of a better word, that's what it felt like. We've never experienced anything like this at any of the other spots in Media Square. To other people of color: I'd recommend skipping this place. There are plenty of other establishments more deserving of your time and money. read more

Visited P J Marley's recently with some relatives. The last time I visited, I only ate appetizers. On this visit, I wanted to try a hamburger. They have quite a few to choose from on the menu. I love mushroom burgers, so that is what I requested. Nearly everyone in our party requested burgers. I requested cherry cola. Our server was fast and friendly. The cherry cola was very tasty. It wasn't too sweet and I very much enjoyed it. My hamburger was tasty, although it was a tad small for the bun. I prefer the burger to at least reach the edges, if not exceed the diameter of the bun. Nonetheless, it was tasty and I enjoyed it. The fries were yummy too. We'll be back to try other menu options soon. read more

Neat little Pub. Family friendly, even on St. Patrick's Day. Cool background story on building & how it got its name, story is on the back of the menu. Food is good! Reuben's are really good. Burger with Mac n cheese on it was yummy! Wasn't a fan of the "chili" on the chili cheese fries. Fried pickles were yummy too. We were lucky enough to sit in the "vault room" used to be an old bank! Quieter in there, compared to the bar area that's right outside the front of it. Bathrooms were clean. Service was quick & waitress was very nice & friendly to us & esp our litttles. She made a "green drink" for my daughter's birthday on St. Patrick's day.. sprite with green coloring makes them feel extra cool. lol Definitely worth checking out if in the area! Great service, dry burgers I heard this restaurant had a great kids menu so I decided to give it a try. The service was great and we were seated quickly. The kids decided to order a hamburger with fries and chicken nuggets with fries. They come with drinks as well. When their food came out the hamburger had cheese. They quickly took it back and fixed it. My son said the burger was spicy and I agreed because I ordered a burger and it was spicy as well. I tried just the meat and they use seasonings on the burger that were peppery. My other child had the chicken fingers and fries. I was excited because they were homemade but after tasting a bite they were over cooked and dry. The adult burgers were okay. The burger did not fill the bun and I felt like the toppings were not proportioned correctly. The salad was fresh and delicious. read more

We stopped into this place by chance and what a GEM Somehow we were able to be seated in the vault, my three kids were SO EXCITED. They spent their entire time before and following dinner rifling through the deposit boxes where they found a SCAVENGER HUNT left by a lovely employee. The prize was a gold dollar coin and we wrapped up our trip by making a hunt of our own for someone else The food was AWESOME, my kids all enjoyed and finished their food and I had the Safe Cracker Burger with Mac n cuz on top and onion rings- absolute winner. I loved their draft selection and even got to try a local craft I'd never had before. Our group was taken well care of by Ms. Sherry and I just can't say enough good things about this place. I like beets and to try new things so I ordered the "grilled"beets with goddess dressing and their spicy tomato soup with a little cream. Service was ok , I got"You ready to order shoot" . The beet was not grilled at all , pic shows you it looks like they took a beet out the jar and put it on the bun, the bun was very hard around all the edges I tore the edges off to eat it as you can see the green goddess is very little and on the bottom with some diced onions. I gave it 3 stars because the tomato soup was good, spicy and creamy. The waiter never asked how everything was or about all the torn off bread on the plate. read more

Busy evening, Friday during Lent so I am taking that into consideration with 3 stars. We waited close to an hour for a table, with our toddler and were seated at a Hightop in the bar.. which was not a pleasant experience. Having an energetic toddler on a bar stool is less than ideal. We were on edge the entire time trying to keep our daughter from falling and practically scarfed our food down to get out of there. Service was good, food was just ok. Fish sandwich was definitely just a frozen filet of fish, nothing special. Will return for our usual lunch burgers and avoid the dinner rush here. read more

After a shopping and Castle Noel visit, a lunch was in order. PJ Marley's really satisfied. Everything in the downtown Medina has a fun vibe. This building used to be a bank. The flooring, the walls and the big vault in the middle of the seating area. Our server was Julie. She was on top of everything. Very knowledgeable about the building and the food. The food was enjoyed by us all. I really surprised me how much I enjoyed the grilled chicken salad. The artisan lettuce definitely had a different texture that was very filling. The grilled chicken was an excellent addition to the salad. The chili mac was devoured, no leftovers. The longmire was a different mix of toppings. My dad really enjoyed it. His fries weren't as good as he hoped. My mom's beet burger was forgettable. She loves beets, but there wasn't much that stood out about it. Her tomato soup was quality, had a nice kick to it. Overall, a solid little restaurant. Food was filling and pretty good. If I am back in town, I know this will be a solid choice. read more

If the walls could only talk!! This was built in 1891 and remained a bank until 2013. In 2014 it opened as P J Marley's!! The ambiance is spectacular. They kept much of the bank feel with the vault and teller windows. Excellent "feel" to the place. Overall we enjoyed our food. My beet sliders were not exactly what I expected. Since I am gluten free and asked for the beet sliders wrapped in lettuce vs the the bun it was basically three slices of beets on lettuce. I thought it was going to be more like a beet burger. Ground up and more patty like. The tomato soup made up for the shortfall on the beet sliders. Had a great kick to it!! read more

It was my first time here and it thoroughly enjoyed it! It was a very busy Saturday morning, we we got seated right away. Almost every table was already full and it had only been open 30 minutes !! I loved the history of the building, how the vault is still there from it being a bank. Our waitress was good. We got the fried pickles and they were so tasty! They were so thin and came with a good amount. My husband got the Ruben; he's picky about his Rubens. And he was impressed! I got the veggie Mac and cheese and was disappointed. I thought the veggie Mac and cheese, which included spinach, tomatoes, and feta, would have been cooked and added throughout. However, there were four small pieces of uncooked spinach and two uncooked cherry tomatoes and some feta sprinkled on top. Always great! Every time I go with family or friends the food and service are spot on. The Cajun chicken wrap is my go to and occasionally opt for the onion rings which are delicious. It sounds weird, but try it on Rye as it was a happy accident. One time we ordered pickup it was misheard from the person taking the order. Beer and alcohol selections are great if you want a craft beer or a nice cocktail. The appetizers are good as well along with all the portions. This place is Sooooo cool! My husband and I were on a road trip from Kentucky to New York and decided to stop for some burgers along the way. I used my handy-dandy helping skills and looked up "foodie restaurants" near me. Which happened to be this cute little village of Medina, OH. This place uses it's history of being an old bank to it's advantage. It is a smaller restaurant so I think you would need a reservation for dinner time. We came during lunch and it was busy but thankfully we were seated right away. The waitress was so attentive and bubbly and likeable. She offered her own food and drink suggestions and we're glad we took them. Their burgers were cooked to perfection. Nice and juicy and flavorful. I got the cracked safe which was Soooo good. The mac and cheese could have used some seasoning because it tastes like it is pre-packaged frozen mac and cheese... But the garlic aioli...OMG. Game changer. So flavorful! French fries were great when fresh and I left full and satisfied. If you get a chance, check out the vault room. We peeked our head in when we were leaving, it seems so cool in there! I really liked the plain fries & had high hopes for this local spot. But after waiting 35 min for a table & then another 15 for a glass of wine I started to get discouraged. The Cajun fries were so salty they were inedible & the beet sliders were clearly canned beat slices & tiny ones at that. Now an hour later I feel sick & salt poisoning is starting to set in. Got the Vault for Valentine's Day! Hostess sat us there and we were pleasantly surprised. Sever was nice, got our onion rings out in minutes. They were huge and crunchy & of course greasy. Came in back door and saw a filthy kitchen and should have left. Was seated promptly. However, the bartender came over to wait on us and was very rude. He seemed annoyed that he had to wait on us. We called to make a reservation and asked if they could accommodate a party of 12. (Group of professionals in the 39-50 age range.) We were told yes and that we would have the "back room." When we arrived we were taken to the back room, where other people were already seated, then we were told they couldn't accommodate seating our group together and we would need to split apart and put 10 people at one table and two people at their own table. What is the point in going out as a group if 2 people are going to be sequestered for their own table? Not sure why they told us our party of 12 could be seated together in a separate room only to have people not affiliated with our group be seated there ahead of us. Had others not been seated in that area, we could have arranged the tables to seat 12. One person ended up canceling so we squeezed 11 people together at a table for 10. Our server was incredibly rude, like he was immediately angry. Maybe because we put the 11th person at our table? Food arrived to our table and he did not check back in to make sure things were okay, offer refills, etc. Our group was from out of town and none of us had been to this restaurant before. We came here while visiting Medina Square and Castle Noel. Three of the four of us got burgers, which is their specialty. I got the Buckeye, my wife got the Medina Bee, and my son got the Mallet Creek Original. All were really good, with several other choices we didn't get to try. Some girl got nuggets from the kids menu and she said it was very yummy. We had to wait a long time but the service was really good. We got an appetizer of fried pickles and my daughter said it was really yummy and so did I. Over all it was really yummy and an amazing place. read more

We visit PJ Marley's annually on our Christmas visit of Castle Noel. We always talk about trying something new- but can't! The food is too good. This time around we had burgers and their macaroni and cheese- delicious! We love the variety of beer on tap as well. The ambience is cozy and situated to view the cute Medina town square. Service sometimes is a little slow- but always friendly and the food comes out fast and hot. We will see y'all again next year! read more
