The service was fine but the fries were greasy. I love the chili cheeses dog! I got mine to go! Owner is cool!

Waited a full hour for our food. Only one other table with customers yet owner came to our table twice to apologize for the wait due to the "rush". (We didn't see anyone come in for carry out either.) And even with the apologies, no adjustment on bill. Omelette was like rubber. Potatoes were cold and hard with no taste. No butter on or with toast. (Picture looks better than it was.) Really disappointing. Maybe better for something other than breakfast, but that wouldn't help the ridiculous wait time. read more

Diner 42 - Diners Near Me - Medina, Ohio

Very sickening experience. Kitchen was very dirty looking as there mystery stains on the walls. "Chief" was wiping his sweat with barehands and cooking food without washing his hands. He also did the same thing with raw hamburger meat. Bar was leaning off the wall. The clearly dairy condiment never went into the cooler my whole visit. This place lacks basic hygiene and should be closed. read more

my family and I held my 25th birthday party here at the diner this past weekend and it was an amazing turn out between the beautiful home like dive bar experience to the great service and quick food! Not too sure why this place gets any bad reviews I have been coming here since it went under new ownership from the biker bar it used to be, no longer a sore eye for Medina I love it and will keep coming back for years to come! read more

Diner 42 is a hidden gem. It's across the street from Schoolhouse Scoops, a popular ice cream shop, and I believe there is a connection between the two stores: get a meal at Diner 42, a dessert at Schoolhouse. Diner 42 has a simple menu, but that's good. Everything is fresh and on point. Good burgers and dogs. I really enjoyed the Italian beef sandwich. They also have wraps and salads for people who want to go a bit healthier. It doesn't look like much on the outside, and the interior decor is nothing to write home about, but don't be deceived. This is a great lunch spot. read more

STILL 5 STARS BUT KEEP READING I'm rating this place as a greasy spoon diner. Like don't expect anything other than that. $7 for a giant double cheeseburger with fries... come on.. you can't beat that. $1 fountain drinks, the beer is pretty cheap (great selection) and cocktails. I love cheese burgers, this is the perfect greasy spoon diner burger, totally hits the spot! And now you can order a beer with it (Truth IPA)!? SOLD. It's not fancy, so don't even expect that, it's a hole in the wall and thrown together as that. It's causal. And their salsa and BBQ sauce is amazing!! read more

First time trying the diner and we ordered takeout. Honestly, the service was awesome and the staff was so friendly. Cute little place and actually a large drink menu! We didn't get drinks, but I looked through their menus when I went inside and waited for our food. They have indoor and outdoor seating and it's definitely a super casual friendly little spot. My husband and I both ordered the hotdog meal, one being the chili dogs. We also tried the harvest corn salsa and the cilantro white bean. The cilantro white bean was really good! read more

Unfortunately, it's a low rating for this dive bar. Food quality is the lowest you can buy. Chicken tenders are the frozen kind that are pieces of chicken. Watery gross ranch. The fries were served so greasy. I will say the bartender was very polite and attentive. Not clean place at all. My shoes were sticking to the floor! Maybe if you're drinking your okay with it. read more

Great restaurant we had hamburgers and fair fries yummmmmm Great little homey restaurant read more

Went here for a quick lunch. Small but homey. Smash burger was real good. Fries average. Saw a breakfast bowl come out to another table looked awesome! Friendly staff clean establishment. read more

I was pleasantly surprised when staff ordered lunch from here recently. I ordered a French dip sandwich with fries. Fries were fresh cut and tasty. Sandwich was good as well. The two drawbacks were that they did not have onion rings despite advertising them and they did not have any ketchup packets for the fries. Definitely will have lunch here again. read more

I stopped in for a quick lunch. I had a double cheeseburger with fries. I picked Swiss for my cheese and the sandwich was incredible. I highly recommend diner 42. They are adding some volleyball courts out back but there's still plenty of parking. read more

i should have said something to our server... our sodas were both very flat. Danielle ordered the pulled pork sandwich and fries. i ordered a Polish Boy and fries and a small chili. She hated everything saying the pork was terribly greasy. fries on both our "plates" looked very greasy, but i thought they tasted really good. my Polish Boy was delicious. sadly, the chili sucked. i'd go back. Danielle won't. maybe i'll grab lunch there one day when i'm by myself. read more

When in for dinner an hour before closing. There was six of us, no other customers. Asked for coffee, the one employee there looked at the pot and said, "we're out." WTH. We left and I'll never, ever go back. Was the only time I've been in the place. That being said, I have no idea how one employee would have waited on six of us and cooked the food. read more

Watched the chef scratch his butt, then with not washing his ungloved hands grabbed my fries and put them in the takeout tray. Then touch his face and assemble my burger. The walls were covered in grease. The takeout tray shelf has had grease pooling in it for so long that the grease is leaking behind the wall mounted shelf. I didn't realize that was possible. The work area was dirty and nasty looking. And I just threw out my burger. It wasn't worth the potential food poisoning. Also there is about a 4ft ring of grease around the exhaust fan on the side of the building. Pretty certain that's against fire code. Owner was pretty nice though, dude added a volley ball court in the back. Looks pretty nice from the roof. read more

I was looking for a quick lunch without going to far out of my way. I saw this place on the map, and after reading a few reviews, decided to give it a try. You order at the counter, and grab an open seat. It's a small place, but I went about an hour after the main lunch time, so there were seats available. I was pretty hungry, so I ordered a double cheeseburger, with all the fixings, and fries. The service was great and the food came out fast and hot! The fries were fresh cut and very delicious! The burger... oh the burger! Two patties that were super juicy with melted American cheese in between. Oh my gosh... it was amazing! I'll be back for sure! read more

I've ordered many items from this place for pick up and I have to say it's pretty darn good for a casual diner! Menu is small but it's always made fresh. The smoked chicken is MMMM good! I was nervous at first because, from the outside, it looks like it could be too much of a "hole in the wall" but I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. The new cocktails are yummy and the place looks nice after being remodeled! read more

This is more of a neighborhood bar than a diner, but the food was good and the owner was nice and very entertaining. It was a quick stop when we were looking for some place to eat. We like to try out diners and locally owned neighborhood spots. Yes, we would eat there again. read more

As I approached the diner with caution, I realized.. it's not a monster. In fact, the food in quite delightful. The burger, oh so juicy and delicious.. the steak tender and soaked with the blood of my enemies, the meat ball subs meaty and ball like.. you know. I have to say, I'm thoroughly impressed and look forward to my next visit.. just remember smittywbermanjenkins he was number 1. read more

Diner 42 - Diners Near Me - Medina, Ohio

We pulled in with about 15 friends last night and enjoyed the view from the deck. Nice selection, well cooked food, and a truly friendly and hospitable crew there. We've passed this gem for years and when friends said, "We're meeting at...." decided it was time to try it. So glad we did. The Italian chicken sandwich was great, hot fresh fries with vinegar, and a cold drink made for a perfect meal. We have to go back now and try the double-cheeseburger (amazing looking but my friend would not share any... LOL ) Such a nice time. My only regret: we didn't eat there sooner. We'll be back! read more

Food was good, by that I mean good thing it didn't make me projectile vomit! It was greasy, really greasy, lacked flavor and overall wasn't the best. But hey the Pepsi was good lol. The place is also a dump inside too... not welcoming in there at all... if you go there eat outside!! Even if it's -5 ° outside! Overall if you can't find food from a dumpster or off the sidewalk first then you can go eat there but my god if you can avoid this place please do. read more

We wanted a good burger and decided to try this establishment. We were not disappointed at all, while a limited menu, the food was excellent, the prices unbeatable, the owner is very friendly. Enjoyed every bite. I would highly recommend a visit read more

Small business but the food is amazing. It's fairly inexpensive and you get a lot for the price. This place has become our new favorite. read more

We stopped in for breakfast and were greated in a friendly manner and everything was explained to us. We ordered different items. However, then when I observed the kitchen, I was quickly turned off. Raw meats were handled without gloves. A piece of what appeared to be beef was walked to the slicer; again with bare hands, and this followed directly by the handling of bread. The meat was was left in the slicer at warm temperatures; at least 30 minutes and remained as we were leaving. Nice looking place with patio but won't be back without some changes. read more

It has a lot of potential but the only plus for us was that it wasn't crowded. Friendly service and clean restaurant.

Been wanting to try this place since it opened, but was in no rush, because I didn't have high expectations, "just another restaurant in Medina." Finally stopped here today and very glad we did. The people were nice, the food was great, and the price was a throwback to the old days just like the setup and decor...which I love. There is nothing fancy about this place, which makes it perfect. Definitely coming back. read more

Nothing fancy but very friendly staff and delicious cheap eats! It did take a little to get our entire order made (3 adults and 2 kids) but it was well worth the wait and everything was fresh and good quality. Impressive menu! read more

The good news - I have eaten here twice and the food is pretty good and the prices are excellent. The bad news - The food does take a little longer than expected to come out, the decor is horrible, parking is in the back in a dirt and gravel lot. The TV both times was playing Frazier from Netflix. If they have Netflix, just subscribe to asking and play live TV such as Food Network or ESPN. I also tried to order via phone so I wouldn't have to wait. The owner who answered the phone said that couldn't be done. They couldn't write down and order and hand it to the chef so it could be ready when I arrived? That is weak sauce. The owner is nice and since it is so close to where I live, I would love to see the place succeed. Small changes could really make Diner-42 successful long term. read more

Amazing food. I enjoyed the tenders as well as the Italian Roast Beef! The Au Ju is so yummy and it was to die for ! I love the fries! I tried to recreate them for my family and they do not like them as much as they like the Diners! Keep up the great work! Cant wait to come back and try something else! read more

Very good food and a good value for the family. Not at all fancy, but everyone's meals were fresh and delicious. Our family of 5 ate for around $26, including beverages- that never happens. Very friendly staff. We will definitely come back. Would be good for take out, too. read more

I ordered a steak sandwich when I got it it was cold when I called the place up the guy did nothing to replace it poor service he doesn't really care about the quality of food I expected to close soon a real dump. read more

We were looking for diner food and were surprised when we got there! It is very small with a limited menu, hots, burgers, chicken patty. The server was very nice and suggested we order the Italian beef sandwich. It was delicious, with a dip for beef juice. We had the chili which was also good. Both were homemade so we ordered right. I'd go again!!! read more

There was at least 1 good thing about my meal. It didn't make me sick. I had a meatball sub and a cup of chili. That chili was the worst chili I've ever eaten. It tasted like burnt tomatoes. The meatball sub was bland and the sauce reminded me more of barbecue sauce than spaghetti sauce. I've had better meatball subs out of a vending machine. read more

The sign out front claims "home of the best burger " ... according to whom?Food is alright ... frozen meat ...literally heard the cook toss my frozen burger patty on the flat top when I got there even though I callled my Togo in 10-12 minutes before I got there so I had to wait and then after I left with my Togo my frozen burger patty was cold in middle so I ate the edges because I was hungry . Have to always search for napkins and condiments from other tables ...I don't understand why I can't have a fountain drink with a Togo order (which I was able to when they first opened ) I am forced between a can of Mountain Dew or Pepsi or bottled water. read more
