This is a small restaurant that you could probably miss if you didn't know about it. But look for it! It's worth the stop and the wait if there is one. They were pretty busy today but the 3 of us were seated, got our food and enjoyed it in about 1.25 hours. That was with waiting for a table. Unfortunately no photos. My brother got the omelet of the day, the cowboy I think and it was huge with ham, hash browns and more inside and a sausage gravy over it. He also got a pancake which was as big if not bigger than the dinner plate it was on. My sister got one of the usual omelets which was smaller but looked amazing with French toast on the side. I got the crème brûlée steel cut oats with fruit and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't know what to expect. It was a bit sweeter than expected but they did a slight brûlée of the top which gave it some crunch. The oats were perfectly cooked in a creamy base. The bowl was the perfect size if you're hungry! So I thought I loved this place for breakfast, well wait till you try lunch! Wife and I stopped in today and wow! Ordered onion rings and they were amazing, clearly homemade and huge portion. Then she got a Cobb salad and I got the Club sandwich. Look at the size of my sandwich and the taste was fantastic. I think it was around 9$ and came w macaroni salad (very good) and a pickle. Griddles was awesome! First time there and server guided us to some great choices like the homemade pasta salad! Delicious! I modified a blt club and it was classic, but tasty. Fresh cut fries were yummy while my friend had the pasta salad. Server was super friendly and efficient. Atmosphere was fun and diner-like with lots of hustle and bustle. Have lived in Medina for two years and this was our first visit to Griddles but it sure won't be our last!! My husband enjoyed his waffles and my corned beef hash was cooked just the way I requested, as were my eggs. We were there on a Sunday morning so it was busy but I didn't feel neglected. I'm visiting from out of state. My family lives here in Medina. They wanted to try Griddles, since they like the name. Walked in, there were only 2 tables open, and we were immediately greeted and told we could sit at either open table. The server came to our table within 3 minutes. We placed our order quickly and the food arrived very quickly. We all enjoyed our food and we are happy to have found this breakfast spot. Since I read the 'bad' reviews before I go into a restaurant, I was purposely observing everyone and everything about Griddles. We noticed the servers taking time to help and chat with the patrons. No patron was left unattended. In fact, quite the opposite. we saw the servers being kind and helpful to the guests above and beyond what I see anywhere else, including helping a patron in a wheelchair, put a jacket on with such a smile and friendly service. The patron went outside and had left their jacket inside, and we saw her carry it out and run up to him and help him put his second jacket on. I had noticed all of the bad reviews seem to be a year or two old. I mentioned it to our server, Nicole, and she admitted that it was a rough start for the business, which opened in the pandemic, and was very busy. Pam, the owner, Had never run or opened a restaurant before, and the same was true for the servers. I feel they now have the experience and knowledge and are running the restaurant smoothly. If any body was ever disappointed, they should come back and give them another try. We believe it will be well worth it. Thank you, Pam, your "Pamcakes" are delicious! I was so impressed with this happy little place! From the moment we walked in, the positivity here was tangible. The food was really good, and the staff were warm & friendly. Even the other customers were happy campers. To top it off, we watched an employee help an elderly customer to his car, which the employee had pulled up to the door for him and then clear the snow off his car. It was so heartwarming! Extremely slow service on both food and customer care. The place really wasn't that crowded or overwhelmed when we were there. The overall look of the place was Dollar Store furnished with cheap pictures, cheap chairs and tables. The food arrived in stiffs, mine was last and I had to wait further for butter for my pancakes. The other couple we were with finally had to get up, walk to the counter to get our coffee filled. The food was just okay but not worth the 45 minute wait. We won't be back. read more

Honestly, this was the worst dining experience of my entire life. We ordered breakfast & it took over an hour & a half to get our food which wasn't even correct. Then the waitress apologized & said the owner/cook (Pam Czech) would take off 10 % off the bill & give us free drinks. We ordered water, coffee & an orange juice. LOL! When I advised the waitress that wasn't acceptable & they needed to take 50% off the bill, the waitress came back & said the owner (Pam Czech) would only take off as much as 15%. Many customers in the restaurant heard the interaction & began laughing & shaking their heads. The table next to us actually said to us the meal should've been on the house. On top of that, the owner Pam Czech) didn't even have the professionalism or courtesy to come out and apologize to us directly for the mistake. This restaurant has only been open since October of 2020 & I'm very confident that they will be out of business soon with ownership like this. This is no way to run a successful restaurant nevertheless a successful business of any kind, especially in Medina where word of mouth travels fast. 1 star rating is being generous. read more

Thought we would try Griddles Cafe for the first time. Apparently it's more important to take care of your regulars at Griddles than anyone else. Was seated after waiting for 10 minutes which for a Saturday morning was not bad. But being the people observer I am I watched an elderly gentleman enter and begin to wait. Our waitress was too busy kicking it with a regular to get our drink order. The bus boy got ours drinks. Two gentlemen then entered and hovered over the bar seating to lay claim to seats that were still occupied while the elderly gentleman stood waiting followed by another couple. Our waitress started kicking it with them too, failing to come and take our order for another ten minutes. A table cleared finally and the elderly gentleman who had been waiting and was bypassed by the two regulars made his way to the table and our waitress was swift to go over and start arguing with him that there were other people in line before him. I never saw such disrespect in my life. Her two regulars sat at the bar as she was belittling him this gentleman and he left. We called her on it when she came to our table and it all went downhill from there. Took 25 minutes to get our food. Sat in the window for 10 minutes and had to ask a kitchen staff member for more coffee. Food was cold, my wife got the wrong order and never saw our waitress again until she gave us our check. If you are looking for a place that treats their regulars like kings and other like paupers and disrespects our elders this is your place. I personally will find another place to go. read more
