RACIST! As soon as I walked in the waitresses stared at me like I was an alien and did not greet me. I had to ask for a menu and they asked me to move so that another person can sit where I wanted to sit. DO NOT RECOMMEND! I don't think they like hispanics. I didn't even get a greet or a smile. A small town diner for sure, but the kind where everyone that walks in was greeted by name. The coffee was perfect. The food was delightful. The sausage gravy could be it's own food group! And this place IS for the hungry bears because the portions were huge and they kept trying to give us coffee to go! You walk in a stranger and leave as family! Went for Bfast on a Sunday morning. We had a big group. So it took a bit to seat us. That was fine. It's a hopping place for Sunday Bfast. I got the country scramble with home fries. It was a good portion and good price. I ate about 1/2 of it and took the rest home. Both home fries and hash browns look delish! Can't go wrong with either. Everyone else seemed to enjoy Bfast as well and their selections. I got a look at lunch when we left and the club sandwich looked amazing. Might have to come back and try other stuff. This is a terrific breakfast place. Food is plentiful and delicious. Our waitress was a sweetheart. The only drawback? The clientele are mostly MAGA. Came upon the Hungry Bear after visiting the Litchfield flea market for the first time today. It was just before 12 noon. He parking was full so I'm front of the Hungry Bear Restaurant... that is always a good sign. We seated ourself and had a choice of breakfast or lunch menu. My daughter picked eggs, mandolin home fries and a slice of ham. I opted for a BLT grilled chicken lettuce salad. We were surprised by the super fast service. We would definitely come back. Ate here this AM with a party of four while we were visiting friends in Medina. A great little slice of small town Americana frequented by the locals. I had the small Hungry Bear skillet for 7 bucks and it was more than I could eat. Service was friendly and attentive. Fairly large breakfast menu for a little mom and pop place. My friend had a Western omelet and said it had lots of filling in it and was the best omelet she has ever had. Coffee was great also. Dollar-for-dollar you will not beat The Hungry Bear for good food and service. They had a huge selection of pies, but I was so full I actually forgot to get some to go. We stopped here because I'd heard nothing but good things from people and boy were they right, the staff is so friendly and service was second to none that's very impressive especially now a days. The menu is packed with anything to crave your hunger and even some home style dinners like mom makes. Our food was good burger was a little over cooked for my liking but that didn't stop me it was bursting with flavor and I had a pile of homemade onion rings that just topped the charts. My wife built her own lunch wrap and she liked it but it could have been a little bigger and again that doesn't affect my opinion on the place. I've visited this restaurant a few times in the past. They have really good fried chicken. They call it their bearoasted chicken (broasted). Everyone in my table ordered their lunch. I made a big mistake, I asked for chicken breast. She said do you want it grilled and marinated or fried. I asked for fried chicken breast. While we waited the server was quick to fill our coffee cups. Very kind, happy and with a big smile on her face. Ok so our food is served and I am looking at this plain chicken breast that looked as of it was just marinated piece of white chicken breast. I should have said I wanted the "bearoasted fried chicken". I won't ever assume that they can read my mind as it was very clear in my mind that I would have received my yummy fried chicken. I gave my chicken away and asked for the grill cheese sandwich with bacon. The server was apologetic and who knows were the error of translating what I wanted lies. She made it right, she was tipped well. Lesson learned on my end. I will say "Bearoasted" I will point to what I want on the menu and make sure we are all in the same page. eek .. these 1 star is just for the service we received during our last visit .. the food was excellent as usual .. there is 1 waitress that works there that has never ever been even remotely pleasant to us .. she handed us - well tossed at us a breakfast and lunch menu but we waited the bear-roasted chicken (as usual) so we had to ask for dinner menus (in order to pick our 2 side dishes which we have not committed to memory) and those were also just tossed at us .. each time she brought anything to us we thanked her .. we do know proper manners .. but she did not even make eye contact let alone say "you're welcome" .. I did make a comment to my husband that I am guessing she may have overheard because for the rest of our visit when she was thanked we were given "oh you are so welcome" .. or "my pleasure" .. all with a sarcastic and heavily patronizing tone .. so either she is a miserable person or we have offended her in some way with our good manners .. it is almost bad enough to keep us from returning (she has waited on us before with the same "charm" and attitude) .. but that chicken always brings us back .. read more

So I've been passing this restaurant for weeks and wanted to try it. They have a sign that says 20 piece chicken for $15.00 . I figured that's got to be a good deal. Turns out the chicken and jojo's are delicious. The flavor was good on the chicken, and it had a descent crisp to it. Same with the jojo's. The employees were really quick to greet me and very sort of "down Home." It just seems like a nice family place. in the future I'll bring my children and dine in. read more
