I have never been to Perk Cup Cafe before getting brunch with a dozen friends one Sunday morning in February 2026. It appears to be a pretty popular brunch spot for Berea residents and I can see why! The menu and the space inside are huge! First thing I noticed, other than the ample parking available is that the cafe is decorated nicely and was busy, with lots of customers already there enjoying their Sunday brunch. My order was taken quickly by our very efficient server. While I waited for my build my own omelet to arrive, I tried some bites of my friend's meals, such as the lemon meringue blueberry pancake. My friend didn't think it was worth $8 despite being delicious. It does make for a pretty picture, doesn't it though? I also tried a few bites of the pork smotherer skillet ($15), which is essentially a heavily pork based meat skillet. This is a very heavy dish and my friend could only eat half of it. I don't think it will reheat very well, unfortunately, so only order it if you do plan to eat it all! See picture. Meanwhile, my build your own omelette ended up being $15.26 and my diet Pepsi was a shockingly high $3.69!!! Tasty and hearty, but the omelet should have had the meat also inside the omelet, like the cheese was. I think I was a little shorted on my meat here. After tax and tip, my bill was a shockingly high $25!! Based on the very outdated menu they have online, I thought I'd be spending 15 bucks, 20 at the most. Is Berea really the hopping spot where an omelet and diet coke can justify a $25 cost? No. Also, do not trust their menu online - the prices are very outdated. I do want to shout out our server, who was on the top of her game with our table of 11 women. So we did not deal with the slow service many other Yelpers seem to have experienced during their time here. Good brunch place near the airport, but overpriced. Bright, open and full of local art, the staff is welcoming and attentive but our breakfast choices were just okay. We ordered two different Benedict plates, the smoked salmon and the Joe, with sausage. Our meal arrived, huge portions of Homefries, lacking in seasoning but nicely browned, the English muffins were toasted to hard which made cutting eggs Benedict a bit difficult and the hollandaise sauce got thicker the more it sat and was just okay, wish I would have got it on the side. My eggs benny was in A+ territory. My son had French toast with strawberries and cream. He seemed to love his meal as well. No issues there. My problem really didn't begin until I saw the check. The one cup of black coffee that was "warmed up" apparently qualified as a second $2.59 order. While I'm not going to lose my house over that kind of money, the principle was pretty rotten in my opinion. Said warm up was literally a half inch splash in a standard coffee mug. That smacks of ridiculous greed and ridiculous policy. As I mentioned, the food was some of the best brunch I've had in a long time, but $47 for two plates at breakfast...? Despite the name, you can get more than a cup of coffee; it's a great place for breakfast or lunch (but not open for dinner), spacious and well-lit inside, some nice art, and ample parking. They do have a large selection of specialty coffee, so if you want a caramel latte (which is what I had), it's your place. Super friendly service. There's a patio to sit outside, but it's a bit cool today so nobody was outside eating. read more

I had a great breakfast experience here. The skillets were recommended by my friendly server. I ordered the Pork Smothered Skillet and it did not disappoint. I'm a big eater but I couldn't finish it. Served with toast and plenty of coffee. I will definitely return the next time I'm in town. read more

We decided to go out to breakfast on Saturday. I had been wanting to try this place so it's where we went. We got there and were seated right away. I liked this place, first it was not super packed like most places. I mean all the tables were full but it didn't feel packed. I also loved that they have a fireplace.The waitress came right over and took our drink order. We had our coffee in just a few minutes. She took our food order and it wasn't long before our order was out. I also liked that we were not rushed to eat and run. The menu had a really good selection. This is a nice place to have a meal. The walls are full of photos and artwork for sale. Nice idea to decorate and make extra income. I like the salads and we have never had a bad meal. They have your regular breakfast items, the coffee is not bad. They also have many choices of delectable desserts. They do have a separate area for parties or groups. The employees there are so nice. They do greet you with a smile and seat you pretty quickly. Now I can say that for me it's not memorable. Except for the employees, I can't say that there is one meal that I just got to have or crave. Which is not a bad thing as at least you can try different meals when you visit. Stoped in on a Wednesday morning around 9:00, after a visit to my doctor's office. Noticed all the cars in the parking lot and knew there wasn't an outbreak of malaria nearby, so I assumed they were here for some other reason. Glad I came in. The service was a bit slow getting seated and then getting my order placed, but to reiterate, just a BIT slow. The place was pretty crowded and the lag in service wasn't due to people not caring. I wanted something light and simple, so I asked for 2 eggs over medium, ham steak, coffee and water. The food came right out (brought by a different person than the one that took my order- good teamwork!) and was exactly what I expected. There is also a nice 'lounge' area with a couple of leather chairs on either side of a fireplace. Nice alternative to a Starbucks. Would not hesitate to come back again. Same story as last visit. This is more of a cafe than a restaurant at dinner time... pretty empty, lacking specials/promos, and servers are not perky. My silverware were both dirty, and the tables are kinda small.. barely fit our plates, glasses, condiments. Food is tasty though. Wrap w/ chips a bit small for $. This was my first (and likely last) visit to Perk-Cup. Our server, Kim, was very personable and gracious. She told us what her favorite breakfast dish was. I ordered the eggs Benedict with tomato and avocado (for an extra charge). It came with a large portion of hash browns of which I only ate a few bites. The English muffin was not toasted and the hollandaise sauce was a very unnatural color and was very bland. The poached eggs were over cooked. The avocado was, to my surprise, perfectly ripe. Wanted a breakfast spot on a Saturday morning and found this place that is close to the fairgrounds. We were going to the Saturday morning flea market. Place was crowded. Lots of parking and a large space. Had to wait about 10 mins for a seat. We literally walked in around 9am with 6 other couples. Menu has lots of choices and we both settled on the veggie dish with hash browns and eggs and provolone cheese. Oh and the grandmas cinnamon bun coffee. Which was delicious. Prices good too. Seemed reasonable. Here was the hiccup. We then waited forever. We watched food come out and it looked great. Pancakes, eggs, everything. It just took forever. And by forever I mean about 30 mins. At least. Maybe it's because they were so busy. Maybe kitchen slow, not sure but it took a long time. When we finally got our food. I've gone to this place a handful of times. The food is good. It's basic, nothing mind blowing. I got the build your own omelet and it was ok. The service is always slow. Tried to eat here twice but wait was long both times and just ended up leaving. 2nd time was waiting at hostess stand for someone to acknowledge us so we can put our name on the wait list. They never seem to quite know what is going on. Restaurant has open floor plan and seems like you would be able to see someone as soon as they get there and welcome them at the hostess stand. Just doesn't seem like customers are the top priority. Might be worth it if food is good but we may never get the opportunity to try it. read more

So this restaurant used to be my favorite place to go I might have to reassess. Today we went around d 10:30 am and it was busy not unusual for a Sunday morning. We waited over 45 minutes for our table. The waitress was friendly and took our order in a timely manner. My husband got the breakfast buffet which he enjoyed I wanted biscuits and gravy but it was no longer on the menu. I ordered a breakfast sandwich on a bagel with hash browns. My husband was on his second plate before I got my bacon egg snd cheese bagel. The waitress forgot my hash browns and I didn't remind her as it took so long to get my sandwich I thought I would just skip it. My sandwich was disappointing the bagel looked like it was formerly frozen and it tasted stale. The coffee as always was great. The staff seemed slow and off and Im not sure what was going on but we probably wont return for a good long time. Very disappointing. read more

This review will most likely echo the thoughts of the other reviews for this place. Overall, good food, lousy service. Saturday mornings are always busy at diners and brunch places, but Perk-Cup felt empty of staff to clear tables and seat patrons. This was an overall theme to the dining experience which was filled with long waits for food, and to pick up the check (i was given my check mid meal...and am still waiting currently to be cashed out...almost 7 minutes now). The Garden Vegetable Baker was a good size portion of eggs, veggies, cheese, and hash brown with a side of toast. If you're work on your patience, please visit. I certainly had plenty of time to practice my mindfulness of waiting, as well as check emails and social media. Speed up the service and this place will be great. read more

Used to be one of my favorite breakfast spots...but the staff has completely ruined it. I've been to places with bad service before, but my family and I have never been treated ruder at a restaurant than we were here. Candy (sp, clearly new as we had never seen her before) the hostess took our name then proceeded to disappear. When she finally came back she greeted the next group that walked in with warmth and got them coffee. She then called to get them a table. When we stopped her to say we were before them, she told us to "Calm down and don't get excited." After a back and forth where she admitted she never added that party to her list, She then said "Fine you get a table" and pointed us to a spot without walking us there or giving us menus. Sheena the waitress came over and we asked her who that new hostess was, telling her how rude she was. We asked who could we speak to about her. Instead Sheena proceeds to tell Candy about us and Candy comes over to BERATE us at our table saying "It is busy and you didn't give me your name at the counter" which was an outright lie.
