Magnificent!!! My daughter and I stayed here during her Baldwin Wallace Musical Theatre auditions for two nights and this was our first bed and breakfast experience ever. We stayed in the queen-sized Creekwood Room which had a lovely antique feel to it! Catherine was definitely the hostess with the mostest lol. She was kind, friendly, detailed and we also met her nice hubby and their adorable dog, Max who is kept in the innkeepers quarters. We were spoiled in this historic, immaculate and cozy B&B. It was conveniently located just a few minutes walk from Baldwin Wallace's audition building and was also a short stroll to multiple restaurants that were really affordable and scrumptious. We went to Mike's and Sweet Mango! Speaking of scrumptious, Catherine's breakfast was unmatchable. First morning's fare was a delightful open-faced croissant bacon and egg sandwich with fruit, yogurt, coffee and choice of two juices. The second morning's menu was equally amazing with a completely different breakfast entree. The ingredients used are very high quality and both mornings we enjoyed relaxing music as well as a beautifully set table. Each guest chooses a seating time that works for them which was very convenient. The inn has multiple common areas with boardgames, snacks and drinks - all complimentary! The beds were extremely comfortable with beautiful crisp linens and Catherine's attention to detail with the decor and every single necessary item you could possibly need was unmatchable. She provides the perfect combination of hospitality and privacy during your stay. I have stayed in many different types of lodging and I have to say if this is the norm for a bed-and-breakfast I definitely will try it again! Everything about our stay was serene, indulgent and a feast for the senses. We also enjoyed talking to other guests some of whom were also there for the BW auditions. My husband and I stayed at the Riverside Gables Bed and Breakfast over the weekend (my first ever stay at a B&B) and I have to say that Catherine has set the bar very high or all future B&Bs' we may find ourselves staying at in the future . As residence host, Catherine made sure everything was communicated to us clearly and that we were very comfortable after our drive from NYC. She is more than accommodating and went above and beyond with the accommodations, meal prep and just anything you can think of needing. Riverside Gables is stunning, our room (the entire B&B) was spotless and so beautiful. The decor is charming and although we didn't have much time to explore the communal areas, from what I could see, there was some historical information scattered around and beautifully presented. My absolutely favorite thing about our stay was the breakfast. Catherine is an AMAZING chef. We didn't give her much, if any, direction on what we like to eat in the morning and we are glad we didn't! She created incredibly beautifully presented breakfasts for us that were delicious and very very nice to look at! Our conversations with Catherine in the morning were exactly what we needed to start our day on a positive note (as we are not necessarily morning people) Catherine was very polite, pleasant and upbeat (but not too upbeat :) ) She very respectful, considerate and welcoming. I was impressed with the attention to detail of the place settings both mornings and the love that we could tell went into making the breakfasts we were served. Being in a college town, the location of the B&B is so convenient, on a quite, not so busy street and has a large parking lot for guests. Our stay was very pleasant, comfortable and we highly recommend staying with Catherine and Kevin at the Riverside Gables Bed and Breakfast! We can't wait to stay there again! read more

My spouse and I, along with two other couples stayed at this B&B for a high school friends get together. What a treat. Not only were the rooms and common areas scrupulously clean, the little extras made all the difference. When we went into our room there was a chilled container of water along with classy crystal glasses waiting for us. I don't know why I was so impressed with this, but it hit the spot after a long drive and the fact that a small detail such as the glasses were obviously paid attention too just impressed me. The owner could have just plain glasses, but somehow, it just made you feel special. After dinner my friends and I wanted to sit out by the lovely and inviting surroundings but unfortunately it started to sprinkle. Even if there were several guests who were not together, there is plenty of space for everyone to spread out and have some privacy. A common area inside by our rooms was cozy and had a sink, coffee pot, mini fridge and other things were we could prepare and enjoy our own snacks and drinks. The beds -- bedding (sheets, pillows, etc.) was high quality, inviting, and comfortable. And the icing on the cake...breakfast the next morning. The table setting was absolutely beautiful and the food extraordinary. We all enjoyed it so much the guys admitted they could have eaten doubles (they were kidding), but our host Catherine would have gladly prepared it. Needless to say breakfast was special and not just an egg and toast thrown at us. We felt relaxed and comfortable and enjoyed not only our breakfast but the entire stay. If you want to be pampered for a night or two, this is the place to be. Catherine and Kevin provide a luxurious bed and breakfast to do just that. We were spoiled from the time we arrived until we left. Cathy asked us what foods we liked and included them in a beautifully prepared breakfast each morning in the formal dining room. One of our favorites was dessert at breakfast. We were served date nut muffins with a type of buttercream frosting! Yum, they were to die for! Cathy gave us some history of the house and answered our questions. She also gave us suggestions of places to visit and events we could go to in the area. The commons area on the second floor provided a wonderful place to relax with coffee, tea or any number of other beverages. There were also goodies left under a glass dome we could enjoy periodically through the day. There were books to read or games to play here as well. We were only fifteen minutes from home but it felt like we were far away on a wonderful get-away weekend. You won't be disappointed staying in this gorgeous century home in Berea, Catherine and Kevin will make sure of that! read more

Simply loved stayed at Riverside Gables this past week. The B&B service is truly top-notch, with gorgeous rooms (with spacious bathrooms) and delicious (and generous!) custom-made breakfasts every morning with fresh fruit, tea, and coffee. Plus, it is within a five-minute walk to the BW campus, downtown Berea, and park along the river. As an additional bonus, Catherine always left us Happy Hour snacks in the kitchenette upstairs which included homemade Italian cookies, cheese and salami, and even some wine and beer. Spoiled rotten! The decor of the home balances elegance with accessibility and Catherine is a most welcoming and conscientious hostess. Breakfast was out of this world, the home is beautiful and very comfortable, and it is a very close walk to downtown Berea. I was there for the annual Bach Festival and will always ask to stay at Riverside in future trips to Berea. read more
