The building is well preserved, very classy both inside and outside, with a nice garden area (with string lights) that wasn't open (yet?). Alright room (could probably use some upkeep and update). Good bed. However, we were unlucky to face a street with early morning trash trucks and (even worse) road work starting at 6 am! On the day of checking out, we just needed a little bit more time. We asked for a 12 pm check out but they simply would not accommodate any request. it's not busy at all. Oh well.

It's new, and it's the only B&B in Berea, with the quaint downtown square right around the corner. The owners are quick to respond to any problems, the location is fantastic, the beds are good. Even the *towels* here are top-notch. When I checked to make sure I didn't have down pillows, I found brand new allergy shield pillow covers on high-quality synthetic pillows. When you stay in a B&B in an old Victorian or heritage home, usually that means dealing with a tiny bathroom, undersized shower, and so on; the beautiful old home that houses Riverside Gables was completely renovated in fall 2012, with nice big showers, new fixtures, and new floors. Guests even have a sitting room, with a kitchenette and fridge, Keurig coffee machine, spare dishes, and (my favorite) electric kettle and teapots for tea. Glass bottles of water are kept chilled for the use of the guests, and it was great to have that bottle of water to take to my room (and also not feel like I was wasting a plastic bottle just to have something cold to drink.) There's also a separate back door for guests. Breakfast has been excellent: fruit salad to start, juice, a beautiful omelette the first time I stayed and a Belgian waffle this morning. The owners have a beautiful Golden Retriever, but he is not allowed in the B&B portion of the house. Catherine is lovely to talk to, knowledgeable about the area, and responsive to the needs and preferences of her guests. If business brings me back to the area, I will *definitely* put this place at the top of my list.

The bathrooms are sizable and modern, the bedrooms are cozy and comfortable, plus there's a sitting room if you want to get out of the bedroom. Second best is that they've got both a Tesla wall charger and a J1772 charger for those with electric cars, and the best thing is that you have the delightful Rocky River Valley across the street for driving and recreation.

Fidelity Hotel is a newish hotel in the heart of downtown Cleveland. It's located in the Baker…read moreBuilding. It's one of the most sophisticated lodging options in the city. In fact, it has Michelin Key (like Michelin Star for hotels). I'll write this review from the standpoint of dining guest and not hotel guest. AMBIANCE: The hotel combines exterior history and interior modern feel. The decor is like flipping the pages of an interior decor magazine - accent floral wallpaper and comfy velvet furniture. I was visiting the hotel for an event (Sounds of the Land) so my only visit was to the lobby and downstairs restaurant (Club Room). The lobby was extremely comfy and modern. I can absolutely see relaxing here or catching up on work. Although the lobby is very constrained in terms of space and gets loud. CLUB ROOM: I visited the Club Room, a restaurant by the lobby. I really enjoyed the drinks - bold, well crafted, and generously boozy. The food was less exciting, too salty and subpar. The Club Room hosts plenty of events - holiday dinners, opening sports days, and music. The space quickly gets packed. PARKING: Valet is available onsite. Plenty of parking garages are accessible in the area. I recommend dropping in for an event at the hotel and drinks. You can register on Eventbrite for select events. I highly recommend making a reservation at Club Room since the business gets very busy.

Plus, they are a pet friendly hotel and don't charge anything extra to bring your furry friend! We booked a standard king room. We had an easy check-in experience where we signed a short waiver related to having our dog on site, and then headed up to our room on the fourth floor, which was beautifully furnished. The room is color drenched in a dark burgundy and features artful touches throughout, including an antique-looking vanity mirror and a mahogany hutch that contains robes, a safe, a refrigerator, and a mini-bar / coffee service. There were a few things I would tweak to make it a 5-star hotel in by book: first is eliminating the blinking green light on the fire alarm, which was bright enough and frequent enough to disrupt our sleep. Second is having a bedside table on both sides of the bed. Third would be offering ear plugs. We were not significantly disturbed by being downtown, but it is situated in a busy area of the city and this would be a nice touch for guests who are more sound sensitive. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would definitely stay here again. The on-site bar & restaurant is fantastic and the proximity to explore the rest of downtown is unmatched.

Upon arrival in the evening, we appreciated the direct access to the room. However, multiple issues arose that significantly impacted our stay. We were unable to get the fireplace to turn on despite following the provided instructions. After contacting the host, we were given the same instructions again, and it took approximately 20 minutes before the fireplace finally turned on. Shortly after, the refrigerator began making a loud, repetitive knocking noise. We contacted the host again to report this issue and asked that it be addressed when checking on the fireplace. The unit above us was occupied, and we experienced excessive noise throughout the night, including loud stomping that made it difficult to sleep. When we contacted the host the following morning to ask whether the upstairs unit would also be occupied for our second night, her immediate response was that we could "just check out." This was not a reasonable or helpful solution, especially considering we had paid for a two-night stay. We expected the host to communicate with the upstairs guests and ask them to be mindful of the guests below. Additional concerns included water pressure issues. While the bathtub is visually appealing, after running the water for approximately 20 minutes, it barely filled, making it unusable. Flooring throughout the unit is uneven, with large gaps between planks partially covered by rugs, creating both comfort and safety concerns. While snacks and drinks were provided, one of the items. a mini loaf had visible mold and was not safe for consumption. Due to the combination of unresolved maintenance issues, excessive noise, and poor communication from the host, our stay did not meet reasonable expectations for the price paid.

Could tell the personal touch when Doug came out to help us park. It's street parking in a residential neighborhood and knowing how to parallel park is important. Before you even enter the gate we had a special Easter treat the owners put out. On every other fence iron spigot was a Happy Easter dog bone treats tied to the fence with a note from your dog friends, Olivia and Jilli; The owners pets. Melt my heart When we entered the house we were told there are two separate rooms on the second floor. This house does not have an elevator so you have to carry up your luggage. The first floor is a common area to enjoy. The decor is clean, classic, and suitable for the home. The home smelled fresh, the areas were wiped down and organized. We even had breakfast waiting for us in the fridge and home made cookies on the counter. Up to the second floor and into our room to the left we were greeted with a spacious king bed with a working fire, seating area, and best of all, jacuzzi tub. Stand up shower but the tub is where it's at. Doug walked us through all the features of the TV, remote controls, jacuzzi buttons, and history of how this once barn became a home. By the time he left we felt like family. Wish we found this earlier so we could have stayed longer. Before he gave us the keys and retired for the evening we were given restaurant suggestions in walking distance along with a coupon good to use at a few of them if interested. No pressure to eat at any one of them in particular. Highly recommend if you are looking for a place in Cleveland Ohio that is perfect for you, you and your partner, or family.
