Daily specials give a variety of tasty breakfast and lunch options, including soups and sandwiches. A friend and I get together for lunch once or twice a week, and more often than not, we end up at Southside. It is a small place with classic diner style and clever art that festures Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, and Elvis. Usually we eat in, but my family gets brunch delivered from there sometimes on weekends. It is one of our favorite places in town -- nothing fancy, but good food in an old-fashioned diner atmosphere and really nice people! read more

Southside is the quintessential, small town spot that makes diners so amazing! There's probably no more than 20 or 25 seats in the place, a small counter mainly for cashing out and an open kitchen. Our waitress was nice and took our orders pretty quickly. A friend and I split the chocolate chip waffle to start. This was a seriously good waffle. The batter was tasty with vanilla and a little cinnamon flavor and the waffle was soft. I got two potatoe pancakes which came with eggs and sausage. The potato pancakes were fine. They were creamy and had green onions inside. They were a little too soft for my liking. I was grateful they had turkey sausage patties. My friend for the gyro potatoe skillet. The lamb was shaved and a little overcooked. The potatoes and veggies in the skillet were well seasoned which really elevated the dish. Best West side diner. The place actually is an old style diner complete with round stools at the counter and lots of 50's memorabilia decorating the walls. Checkered linoleum floors! Specials each day. Breakfast to burgers it's all delicious. I had the corned beef quesadilla. Tender juicy corned beef and sauerkraut with Swiss cheese and egg sandwiched between a grilled tortilla. Yum. Served with Chipotle Mayo or Thousand Island. Fountain drinks. The real standout here is the fantastic service. Not stressed just really friendly, efficient and attentive. We stayed a bit when we were done eating and chatted with the servers. Truly nice folks. Plenty of parking. Loved all the art of old time stars. Good prices. We will be back. read more

Hey Ya'll. Who doesn't love a good diner, go and jump off a bridge, and I hope you land in one of the seats inside Southside Diner to change your mind! I'm not sure of the nationality of the owners, but this diner has the best of Clevelands' own style of food. The decor pays homage to Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, and Jimmy Dean with an old-school ice cream shop theme. Classic toy cars are all around, so yeah. The bathroom could use a little deeo clean, but there was toilet tissue, hot water, and soap, so im glad about that! You guys know that I'm a breakfast type of girl, and I believe a diner/restaurant should be able to make 2 things well A burger. Eggs. If you can't do those two things, just close up shop!!! I ordered the Crazy 8, 2 eggs, 2 sausage links, 2 strips of bacon, and 2 slices of french toast or pancakes. I substituted provolone cheese instead of American, and I believe she (I don't recall my server telling me her name) charged me $1 for the exchange and didn't say anything. I also added the hashbrowns, which were very good, and the bacon was COOKED. You know how some places cook the bacon just enough? No, this bacon was cooked to a crisp perfection, and that's the reason I'm not tripping about the lack of notification for the charge of a substituted cheese. Although my server didn't tell me her name, she was cool enough and big up the hostess who greeted everyone with an absolutely beautiful smile. I would recommend this little spot. read more

Please don't tell my wife (who makes a very respectable Eggs Benedict), but I just finished the absolute best Eggs Bennie I've ever had. I don't know what magic potion is used to create the Hollandaise sauce, but I think I could have had a bowl of it on the side. Crazy expansive breakfast and lunch menu's with some interesting Greek twists, your water and coffee will always be full. Can't recommend this place enough for the best breakfast in town! read more

Love this little diner in Parma! Now retired, I can eat a good breakfast and go at my own pace. My hubby and I found this restaurant when we visited friends near Holy Family Church. We have breakfast here at least two, if not three, times per month. I like their homemade potato pancakes breakfast which includes two eggs any style, two sausages (either links or patties) and two pieces of bacon. Apple sauce and sour cream are provided. So good! It's hard for me to switch up this breakfast for something else since it is so good. Service and ambiance are great too. read more

It's hard for me to find the separation between a good and a great breakfast/brunch spot until now. There are a handful of good breakfast/brunch places in the area and then there is Southside Diner. I have finally found a great breakfast/brunch spot and it's very close to home. I would eat here everyday if I could. I ordered the breakfast burrito and substituted the bacon with chorizo. I was feeling extra hungry so I decided to order a chocolate waffle as well. The burrito was loaded with sausage, chorizo, egg, cheese, home fries and topped with sausage gravy and cheese. It was very heavy and I enjoyed every bit of it. I'm typically not a big fan of waffles but I was told they were the best around. I can strongly say that this was the best waffle I have ever eaten. It was perfectly cooked, crisp and soft on the inside and every bite was full of chocolate chips. This diner gives off a quality, home cooked meal atmosphere. The food came out fresh and quick. The staff was really nice and my waitress did a great job at making me feel at home. I can't wait to come back. read more

We had a couple of hours to kill waiting on a recall repair on my car so we went to SD for the first time. Pleasantly surprised. Old school diner feel, my booth had tape on the well-worn seat! The menu is widely varied. Open from 8-2 so I had the corn beef hash and eggs (3) over easy my better half had the Ruben. As good as any Ruben in CLE had to bring 1/2 home. My CBH was the best I've had! None of mine made it into a to-go box. The hostess and waitstaff were excellent. The whole experience was a nice surprise. The only negative was my car did not get fixed. Ganley needs to order another part. So I will be out of my bubble again when the part comes in and stopping in at Southside Diner before Christmas!!! read more

This was our second time there, first time not too good, we thought we would give it another try. Extremely disappointed, our bill was slightly over $32.00 for the two of us (without the tip) for breakfast with coffee. My husband ordered the Meat Lovers omelet, very dry even with the melted cheese in it. The hashbrowns were dry as well, had absolutely no flavor, our toast was barely toasted with loads of butter, which did not melt into it. I literally had to scrape off the excess butter. I ordered the 3 eggs, requested soft basted, two were almost hard boiled, the other almost there, sausage patties were dry, overcooked. We don't go out too often for a breakfast, this was supposed to be a treat, far from it. The server was very friendly as well as another who took our order.
