Classic diner atmosphere for sure. George's is your all American typical diner and I love it. I used to actually come here quite a bit more before Covid and I know their hours have changed because pretty sure they used to be open 24 hours but no longer. The service here is always fantastic and you can tell there's a ton of regulars that come in but what's really amazing about George's kitchen is the prices are so great and the serving size is huge... I think a patty melt was like six or seven dollars and comes with fries. The picture I attached to my review was a fantastic Greek omelette. I wish I would've taken a picture of the menu because there's a ton of choices available to customers. I have been going here often lately. I wish I knew about it sooner. I love diners and family owned businesses. The food here is very good. I try to get something different each time I go and each time it was amazing. The service is always friendly, attentive, and pleasant. This place is always packed. QUICK REVIEW -- Simple and delicious diner food. HUGE inside with plenty of room to sit including sitting at the counter. Quantity is average and similar to most diners (not too much and not too little food). The server Cindy was really nice and attentive (5/5 for Cindy). I first visited in April 2023 and then I visited again in July 2023, both times for breakfast. I've had their orange juice, french toast, omelets, tried their pancakes, eggs, and bacon combo (George's super special at $7.95). Their french toast is my favourite item on their menu and it is topped with powdered sugar. I certainly will be back as this is one of the most affordable restaurants in Cleveland that I've been to and it's very decent food. Like how do you pay employees a fair wage with these prices? Hmm. The staff was unfriendly, it wasn't very clean overall, bathrooms were filthy, they didn't space out tables so unmasked patrons are all sitting near each other as if there isn't a pandemic happening, and every patron around us just gave off very bad vibes. The food all tasted like it was fried in old rancid oil. Like smelly old fryer oil is the only flavor anything had. Definitely a no go. Very divey. Very poor service. Very bad food. Great prices? If you're hungry, but not starving, I recommend the 4 meat (sausage links or bacon) 3 egg special. Comes with hash browns and toast (white, wheat, or rye). The corned beef hash is pretty good. An it's a nice amount. The chicken cutlet, Turkey dinner, and meatloaf are all pretty good too. Waitresses are all very pleasant and funny! They waste no time getting your food when they hear their bell sound from the kitchen window. On the negative side, the place can use a huge remodel. Dark and dingy inside. I'm giving it five because for what it is: Old school dependable DINER - REAL DINER - it excels. The wait staff is sassy (Our regular is Cindy and she is great!). The coffee is yum. The place looks like it could use a pressure watch but only because it is old, the french fries are LEGIT - not coated to save time and money but for real for real crispy ass crinkle cut golden brown french fries! Which is a HUGE win from me. We have only ever been here for breakfast (which is available all the time) but this time I ordered a Reuben. The meat was grilled before being put on the sammich which really elevates the whole thing. It was slamming good. Don't be a snob. Be where you are and judge the place on its merits and in its lane. I was in town visiting for Summerslam 2024. I'm a sucker for breakfast, saw the reviews and decided to roll. From a quick glance on outside, this place looks a little weathered, dingy and the windows are foggy. The inside has an unfamiliar smell that isn't bad but isn't welcoming either. The crowd are locals, you're gonna see some missing teeth and faded garage tattoos and an elderly couple sitting by the door who look like that will be their final resting place. I was definitely the outsider. The decor is mismatched with pictures from the 90s and early 2000s on the windows, this place may have been another restaurant in the past and they kept the furnishings. Once you get past these small hurdles, you're gonna have some of the best breakfast you've had in a while. We sat at the counter and the waitress who served on us was a wonderful plus sized gal who I left a handsome tip for. Loved her. We ordered breakfast- sausage/ham/eggs/potatoes/pancakes. Amazing.
