Best greasy spoon in Cleveland! Very old building but it has a lot of character inside. All of the servers have been there forever and they are all so sweet and welcoming. Highly recommend if you're in the area and want a quick solid breakfast! read more

This is a quirky kitschy vintage movie themed diner and that is probably the biggest appeal. The servers are super attentive, fast and friendly The food is standard diner food- its not great but edible and quick. read more

I have been coming to George's since I was born, undoubtedly. This diner is like no other, very reminiscent of a classic diner like the ones you see in shows where everyone knows each other and what not. The food has been consistently great every time I've visited. There's not a time I can think of where I got an entree I didn't enjoy. My favorite of all time is the Cubano sandwich, it's tremendous. The staff is polite, and they are very helpful also. They say don't fix what isn't broken, and George's definitely took that into account, the restaurant has looked the same inside and out since my youth, and I can't help but to love and respect that decision as it keeps everything original and authentic. The most tremendous Diner in Cleveland! read more

Great walleye and perch dinners. Delicious chicken noodle soup. Donna was a perky and personable waitress. Thank you!

This long standing business is a wonderful place to dine and enjoy a great breakfast or lunch. For less than $10, I had veal with pasta (a very generous portion), soup, salad and bread. Our server was so fun and very attentive. The staff taking our payment was very engaging, and you could see how much they love this restaurant and its customers. They did inform us that they are having to cut cost and hadn't taken a salary in 3 years. If this wonderful restaurant is eventually forced to close, it will be a huge loss. Please support this great restaurant by taking family and friends to a special meal that can only be experienced at George's Kitchen!! read more

Amazing prices. By far some of the best prices in all of cleveland. You get a lot of food too. And the cooks are like magicians, they bring out the food to you within minutes. Amazing. Ten stars if i could. read more

Doesn't look like much when you drive past, but definitely glad I stopped. I try to patronize local restaurants as much as I can. This family owned restaurant has such a home feeling. There are many frequent customers as I heard the cashier greet people by name. The employees seemed to really like each other and worked well together. Now for the most important part... My food was excellent! I ordered a omelet with came with a choice of pancakes or French toast. I choose French toast and it was delicious. With tip included, I paid $9.50. What a deal! I will return as soon as possible. read more

I'm a sucker for any place the servers call you 'honey' or some kind of endearment (what can I say? I just like it). So the food- it's stupid cheap. (How are they serving scallops for these prices? Did they fall off a truck?) Included are soup or salad, choice of two sides and bread to boot! Is this fine gourmet dining? No. Will it fill your belly and not wipe out your wallet? Yup. So, dearie, honey, sweetie-go!! read more

I gave it two stars. One star because it's cheap, and, one star because the food is usually OK and comes out of the kitchen very quickly. Having said that, the place is filthy. The silverware is never clean. Often there is still food stuck on the utensils from some previous customer. The waitresses swab the all tables with the same filthy wet cloth. When the customer sits down the table is usually still wet. The floor of the restaurant is disgusting. The restrooms are something you might find in a third world country. Cockroaches are everywhere. I will never eat there again. read more

George's Kitchen is an old school diner style restaurant. The menu is extensive, but not surprising with breakfast, sandwiches and classic entrees. I stopped in at about 10am on a weekday and sat at the counter. I ordered the 3 eggs, hashbrowns and cinnamon raisin toast. My ordered appeared in very short order with the eggs cooked nicely over medium, a large portion of crispy potatoes and pre-buttered toast. The food was just fine, nothing special, but certainly a good representation of breakfast. Service was fast and the decor is classic diner style. Prices are reasonable so give George's a try. read more

Classic diner. Cheap and delicious. It's hard to find classic places like this anymore that don't charge an arm and a leg for a mediocre breakfast. George's is delicious and affordable. read more

George's Kitchen - Chicken fried steak. Scrambled cheesy eggs. Hash browns. - Diners Near Me - Cleveland, Ohio

If i could give a place 6 stars I would!! Before visiting Cleveland, I thought there were only two GOATs in the city, LeBron James and Gary Big Play Barnidge. George, and likewise, his kitchen, is clearly the third piece of the triumvirate, without a doubt. Donna is the MVP of this establishment, always quick with a joke and to light up my smoke. George be steady tossin' extra bacon on my dish just for the fun of it. Next time you're on Triscuit Road, stop by the Mecca and ask for a plate of the slop, extra sloppy, and thank me later. Make sure you show up ravenous after a long night of burning the midnight oil, as the food simply just tastes better. I'd also recommend stopping by the Beer Barn around the block for a 30 rack of Great Tasting Less Filling Miller Lites to help settle your stomach after the sumptuous feast you will consume at this 10/10 haunt. read more

Well I have been eating here for the last month and the food has been consistent, delicious! Very reasonable prices especially for a family . Do not miss out on going here! We've recently visited Ohio for a weekend, had breakfast 2 out of 3 days there :) Our server Bri was phenomenal! She could put most other restaurant servers to shame. Great hospitality, very nice owners & hard-working staff. Food prices are reasonable with delicious, generous portions. Open limited hours, but you can get anything on the menu the entire day. I had a fresh fish sandwich and (steaming hot) homemade soup at 9:00 a.m. Haha... Very nice decor, you feel comfortable just as soon as you're seated. George's Kitchen is #1 one in our book, true homemade cooking. Thank you Bri, for being so friendly & attentive. I wish I had half of your energy!! read more

The food is delicious and generous and I love the waitresses who have been there for so many years.

Food was ok. Chicken noodle soup was very, very good. Only thing, seen a roach crawling on one of the booths so, I'll have to pass on this place from now on. read more

This is a hidden gem. Known by locals because when I told people I came here for breakfast everyone told me they love this place. True! Very large menu. Lots of options. We were told the corn beef is homemade and great. So we ordered it. Yes it's delicious and homemade. I'd get it again in a heart beat. Had to take some of it home because it was just too much. Home fries are crispy and tender the eggs were perfect. Really good breakfast and not pricey at all. Service was great. Server was helpful and attentive. Prices were great for what you get. Totally worth a trip. I'd come here even if I'm not in Lakewood. I'd definitely go and try something else. They have tons of specials and it looks pretty popular. Here is the downside. Bathrooms were pretty gross. Don't go if you don't have to. Not sure if that means the place is dirty in general but there is that. I hope not. Cause this is a little gem but cleanliness is important. And a must for any restaurant. That could out weigh all the good I wrote. That's why not 5 stars. Let's see maybe it was a fluke. read more

George's Kitchen is a great place to go if you are looking for a home-cooked, super cheap, greasy spoon kind of meal. My family decided to go there on Christmas Eve, and everybody had a good meal with friendly service. I can't believe how reasonable the entrees are, not many things on the menu are even up to $8! And pretty much everything comes with soup, salad, sides, etc. Portion sizes are large. You can definitely find something decent to eat for around $7 per person. read more

So we arrive after a 5 hour flight starving at 8pm. Needless to say we would have eaten at any hole in the wall but our trusty Yelp app brought us to George's Kitchen. Boy were we happy. This place does comfort food right. It is a diner. But it is a diner the way it is meant to be right down to Flo type waitresses (you have to have grown up in the 70's to get that one). The food was exactly how it was portrayed on the menu with large but not too large portions. The service was fast despite the crowd. Definitely will "find" this place again if I ever get back there. read more

There's a reason this spot is so popular. There is an extensive menu serving breakfast all day. The food is delicious and served in large quantities. The price is better than reasonable. Moussaka. Moussaka. Moussaka. So you probably can't guess what my favorite food is here. Just try it. You won't be disappointed. I'm not going to say the servers are awesome. Or the decor is great. Because it's not. It's a small great place to eat. read more

Solid breakfast place! I order bacon, eggs and potatoes. Always great, and friendly service.

Solid chow, in a comfortable, small-town establishment. Came in on July 4th - no waiting and service all-around was quick. Extensive menu for all meals, but we had breakfast only. Son had the chicken & waffles - all tasty, with nice portion size. I went for the Country-fried steak - again, flavorful, with a filling portion. Coffee was excellent, prices very reasonable. What else could you ask for in the first meal of the day! read more

We settled for this place since nothing else was open. The prices are really good and they give a large amount of food but the food was really gross except for the soup. We ordered the gyro and Greek grilled chicken plate, the "secret sauce" on the gyro was hot sour cream and the wrap was obviously microwaved. The grilled chicken plate came with a baked potato that wasn't cooked fully and lukewarm chicken. The food was not fresh at all We were greeted and had a brief conversation with several really nice employees but our server was rude. She dropped the soup on our table and just walked away with noodles and broth all over the table. She had an attitude the whole time we were there as well. Maybe she was just having a day but the poor service on top of the nasty entrees ruined the whole experience. read more

My honey and I decided to jump off our low-carb diet for his birthday weekend and wanted to try George's, since everyone is always talking about it! We got there around 10:30 on a Saturday morning and the place was hopping. Parking lot full, entry way crowded... we almost left thinking we'd never get a table. We were greeted right away and seated within two minutes. I was impressed with the size of the place- there was a ton of seating and lots of servers buzzing past. I loved the diner feel, with the old bar counter and round stools. But you're not here for the interior decorating, you're here for the grub! I was feeling gluttonous and ordered two breakfasts- Mini-Belgian waffles with strawberry topping and Eggs with sausage and hashed browns. He got the corned beef hash side along 3 pancakes. First of all, the food came out wicked fast. Our server was very friendly, but efficient. It's possible ::whispers:: that she was a robot. Our food was amazing. My eggs were cooked perfectly, the waffles were a tad crisp but soft on the inside. Everything was hot and served about as quickly as it came off the skillet. It was a very generous portion. We got a ton of food- and he drank about 3 milks. Our bill was around $23. It was a good value for excellent food and service. This will become a regular stop for us! read more

I used to come here all the time when I lived out this way. My girls and I came here tonight because we were in the area. We were seated right away and our waitress took our drink orders. The menu is huge and it took us a few extra minutes to decide. We felt a bit pressured to hurry up and order because she asked us 3 times in about 5 minutes if we were ready, yet all our menus were wide open with us still looking. I settled for the chicken parm sandwich to be safe, slightly regretting ordering it because I recently got that from another restaurant. It came with a small salad that was fairly fresh, and a packet of ranch on the side. The sandwich was huge, didn't have much cheese on it, and only a small splash of marinara. I asked for Parmesan on the side which made it a bit better. The fries were just simple frozen fries. Service was very polite and prompt throughout our visit. The only major concern I have is the cleanliness of this place. I really didn't notice til we were done eating and just looking around, waiting for my daughter to finish her soup. No way would they pass an inspection. Old neon signs hung above the coffee and soup station were CAKED with dust and cobwebs. I mean caked. The ceiling tiles are all stained with several water spots. Coolers with salads didn't look very well kept. The hot line window was full of clutter and mess. I'm glad we couldn't see too far into the kitchen, because the little bit you can see from the dining room wasn't pleasing to the eye. I would have taken pics to post, but didn't want to seem so obvious/rude. They really are friendly people providing a good service for a decent price. I just wish the place was cleaned up...a lot! I'd like to say I'll go back, but it'll be a slim chance unless the do a deep cleaning. read more

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about George's Kitchen and their food, service, and consistency. This place is a Cleveland gem that any family small or large can enjoy at any time of the day. They're a throwback to a time where things weren't computerized and restaurants ran on consistent processes and quality management. The food is absolutely delicious and their menu has something to offer for every palette/dietary restriction. I have to say it's one of the few places i have never been disappointed by anything I've ate. The owner(s) are there all day, every day, greeting patrons and making sure things run efficiently. I can genuinely appreciate their commitment to remaining one of Cleveland's last true diners. The servers and kitchen run like a perfectly oiled machine. Zero point of sale system, kitchen printer, or electronics. Orders are called through the window and plated like an assembly line Henry Ford would have been proud of. The servers definitely deserve more than a 20% tip for how hard they work. PS - it's the only place you can get completely stuffed and still have leftovers but never break the $20 check total. read more

How can you not give this place 5 stars...WOW!!! Sure, it's a dive diner that looks like the 1960's when you walk in. What amazes me is the menu in the pics is accurate in That the prices go back to the 1970's. I mean I don't think anything on the menu is $10 and most entrees well below it. On top of that the food was very good. I had the Sunday special of turkey and dressing with 2 veggies. Also came with a very good bowl of chicken noodle soup and a small salad. I was eating an early dinner today so I also went with Apple pie ala mode. I am stuffed!!! When the bill came I thought I was way underpaying. They practically are giving the food away!! I don't see how they can stay in business but they do. Total bill with tea and tax was $12.90. The pie and ice cream was. $3,90. The turkey meal was $6.75. Incredible!!! My table service was very good.
