The coconut yeast was more moist but still too bready and dense for a perfect fluffy donut. The cruller was totally meh- kinda dry and rubbery but not inedible. The old fashioned was dry. The chocolate glazed yeast was heavy/bready but it was not dry like the plain glazed yeast which was nice. The chocolate cake donut had some crispiness to the outside and was moist. The blueberry cake was less moist and had no crispiness sadly. Overall very average.

At all hours of the day you'll get moist cake donuts with crispy outsides. At most but not all hours you'll get mostly moist (albeit still not as lightly fluffy as would be an ideal donut yet to be found in Cleveland) yeast donuts too. The old fashioned donuts are extra well prepared. Most of the time the snickerdoodle and chocolate chip cookies are soft and flavorful too. Not expensive either like Jack Frost or BigMouth. Don't take a gamble and make the drive to Strongsville for good donuts here at Donut Scene! Trust me- I've tried them all.

We were walking back to our car after lunch at the Thai Place down the block (see my review Mango…read moreThai Berea). We passed this bakery which was packed with customers, so we stopped. Inside appeared to be a standard bakery, and since it was after lunch on the weekend before Christmas, the goods were almost sold out. I could tell that this was a decent place because the servers inside knew their pastries and how to manage the line to keep them moving in and out. The cookies and pastries appeared well made and decorated. They had samples which were so yummy and light (which could be dangerous). My wife decided to get a prepared box of holiday cookies to take home. The cookies were tasty, unfortunately the gingersnap flavor wandered over into the other cookies in the box. I would recommend getting cookies separately and not packaged. There were so many varieties of baked goods, so it would be hard to pick and choose unless you went to this place frequently. Good stuff, cookies by the pound. Various cakes and pastries also being sold. I think I even saw donuts. Keep up the good work! If we are in the neighborhood again, will be stopping by.

A dozen is about $18 which isn't bad at all. The chocolate glazed yeast was also unremarkable. Not dry or stale or off flavored but just kinda there and not any kind of fluffy lightness you'd write home about. The crullers here are unique! Very rugated, soft, fall apart in your hand and quite tasty. Best in the Cleveland area and I'm not even a big cruller fan. The plain glazed cake had a great texture. Moist inside, some crispiness outside. But it had an offish kinda almost remotely lemony flavor I am not a fan of.

This goes above and beyond the donuts . This is all about ineptness and insane amounts of unprofessionalism and coming across as scammy. Let me explain. on Aug 16th I put in an order online and it went thrugh no problem. I get an email saying the order was cancelled shortly thereafter. The store eventually called me and explained the pre-orders sold out and they didn't stop the orders on time or some BS?! She said these donuts woudl be around for a month as they were limited edition donuts. I said, no big deal, it's just donuts. She told me they had to cancel like 50 orders as a result of human error. I am betting some people complained hardcore at her on the phone. I did not because like i said, its just donuts. I was ordering them for my kids. Today..I thought, ok, I have 4 days left and these are gone. So i placed an order online. It went though no problem. I get a call from i presume is the doordash driver saying their system is down. He goes: I can take your order. I was like WTF?! Uh, NO... This screams scam right away to me. Rando guy calls me and asks me to take my order because the system is down. I have no idea if they were hacked in some way..I have no idea how legit this guy is as the store never called me directly to say their system is down. I would've been able to match phone numbers. So then he hands his phone to a woman working there and right away she gets this pissy attitude when i asked what's going on? she says her systems are down. OK..uh, wait for them to come back up and deliver? She goes in her pissy attitude..I am cancelling your order and hangs up on me. But miraculously, they were able to cancel my order really quickly as i got the email saying it was. Oh the irony.... Insane amounts of attitude all around, very unprofessional all around. stay away from this place. It's a complete joke. So sorry you made bad life choices that you have to work at a donut shop, but don't take that out on customers. Also, get a clue and look at the big picture for once in your life on how scammy that all came across. I wasn't gonna fall for it and sadly i bet many do. Apparently, Common sense is not strong in the donut clerk world. SMDH.
