New to Cleveland and tracking for personal reference: -Sustainability queens will appreciate the default dine-in drinkware. This is my first time here, but it appears as though you'd have to ask for the plastic option. Big yay! -There are lots of selfies around of who I'm assuming is the roaster, but he was also working at the barista while I was there. -The ambiance is a Central American vibrant color palette with relaxing music. -Plenty of off-street parking. -Small batch roasting, so they do not have some items you would usually see. They don't do americanos, iced or otherwise, which is my default at a new place. The cold brew is pretty mellow, but definitely not weak or strong. Solid choice.

Tony makes pour over magic here. A great eclectic and cozy vibe. He roasts all his beans on premises and has a lot of knowledge about coffee. Describe to him what you like and he can recommend a brew. He also bakes up some sweet delights that I highly recommend. Table or comfy couch take your pick. Also a lovely outdoor patio space.

So be aware - if you want your coffee with creamer, or sweetener - DO NOT bother coming in here. I missed the statements about this in the previous Yelp reviews. So I went ahead and ordered something - I needed caffeine! I asked about a "dark roast" - they don't do that either. So I went with the equivalent of what would be their strongest coffee. It's done as a pour over. I got it to go. I noticed they do coffee tasting flights - I think that would be fun and interesting to try! There is some interior seating here as well. I might come back to try the coffee tasting flight - probably won't make it into my regular rotation for coffee and espresso though. #TroubadourCoffeeRoasters

This is the place to go if you are a coffee connoisseur. The owner knows a lot about coffee and you can learn a lot from him. I like a good cup of joe, though usually that entails adding lots of milk to my brew to decrease the acidity. I naively ordered the flight of coffees ($7.29 including tax), which included three small carafes of your choice of a variety of beans. I told the owner to choose for me and ended up with brews from Ethiopia, Costa Rica, and Brazil. I was a little surprised when I asked for some milk for my coffee and the owner looked at me like I was about to commit some sacrilegious act (I didn't get milk in the end!). As someone who doesn't ever drink black coffee, I found it difficult to drink the three kinds of coffee (I thought the Ethiopian coffee was the mildest, the Costa Rica seemed a little dark, and the Brazil seemed acidic to me, even though the owner said it shouldn't be as acidic as the others). Well, it was a learning experience (I learned that black coffee isn't for me!).

If you like your coffee with sugar or any sort of sweetener - this is not the place for you. So what was I doing there you may ask, considering I like my coffee to taste the least-coffee-like with milk, sugar, etc? I was looking for a quiet place to get work done. This is the quietest coffee shop I have found in the Greater Cleveland Area. I came here around 5 PM on a Monday and left around 7. There was maybe one Christmas song played the entire time I was there and the rest of the time - silence. I will say tho that when people did eventually come in, their voices carried despite the volume at which they spoke being perfectly acceptable normally. But what you really care about when coming here is the coffee. They do offer lattes and such but I opted for one of their straight-up coffee choices. I made my way there, I might as well go all out. I asked what they would recommend for someone who likes things sweet and was told to go with the Kenya for a bit over $4. The coffee itself was fascinating. Honestly, I didn't really like it but considering my afforementioned preference for how I take my coffee, that's on me. But it was full bodied and was very fruity. The idea that a coffee can be naturally fruity blows my mind but there you have it. If you like coffee, can drink it black or are a coffee purist - this is the place for you. If you need quiet to get some work done and need a change of scenery, this is definitely the place for you. There's plenty of seating without it feeling to large or sparse. A bit of a side note tho, if you like dark roasts - they don't offer any.

This is a nice and chill coffee shop that has quality coffees and teas. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of all their coffee and tea selections. They do not offer flavors for lattes or creamers because they focus on the flavor in the coffee beans and believe that's how it should be consumed. But they do have almond milk and soy milk to go with your lattes or cappuccino. The atmosphere is nice with pictures of the owner traveling overseas for coffee beans. And the music is chill lo-fi which is great for working. I recommend this place if you're looking for quality coffee flavors instead of sugary frappuccinos.

We chose Loretta Paganini School of Cooking because of Loretta's outstanding culinary reputation, but also because of their wide variety of class offerings. When we saw the breakfast class for crepes, waffles, and pancakes, the choice was easy. This isn't something obscure and is easily replicated at home. The Loretta Paganini School of Cooking is located in a snug and cozy older house. They have a small shop of chef-driven cooking supplies and one main room for cooking classes. The main room is smaller and I imagine can fit 10 people. This was my first cooking class ever and I loved the slanted mirrors on the ceiling to see instructions more clearly. Chef Loretta is SO talented that its probably easy to forget we're just simpletons, but she was able to laugh off the mistakes we made as true beginners. We had no idea what to expect prep wise, but everyone in the class was given different duties for the dish (so you yourself were never making it all). We ate the food as we went along and chatted techniques. Her assistants were great about providing water, coffee and general assistance when Chef was busy helping others. This was a fun experience and we would 100% return!

We never received a call, email, notification that the class would be cancelled. It took 5 days for someone from American Wine School to contact us about the class. We were able to reschedule the class, but the location changed to an area an hour from where we live. Due to unforeseen travel and work schedules we had to cancel. We were able to reschedule, but again had a last minute work trip out of town. When I attempted to call to cancel I didn't hear back. When I sent an email to explain the situation, I told that because they ordered our tests we couldn't be refunded. I completely understand that needing to reschedule twice is unfair to AWS, but this was all perpetuated by a no-call, no-show of American Wine School at the class and location we initially pre-purchased for attendance. This company is not only unprofessional, but also unethical. I would recommend finding another company, any other company, to work with for classes and certification.

He curates must experience culinary adventures in the city. Some of the things that he offers in the city: in-home couples' dinners, cooking classes (mostly at Cornucopia), and cooking demos at the Fairfax Market. I joined his cooking demo at the Fairfax Market and Old Stone Church. I LOVED the experience and the food! The food looked so easy to make (haven't tried to reproduce it at home yet) and tasted delicious! To be very honest, I hate cooking (but love eating), but even for me these recipes looked easy to replicate at home! Fairfax Market Experience: Fairfax Market (Meijer) hosts free lunchtime monthly appearances from Chef Wells (sign up on Eventbrite). He does quick demo, shares the recipe, and then you can shop at Meijer for the ingredients (with the provided coupon). Ingredients looked very clean and easy to find. I participated in Tomato Bisque demo, it was so tasty! I'm not even tomato bisque fan, but this tomato soup was flavorful, non-acidic, and a perfect treat for fall. Oh, and the homemade croutons were easily the best I have ever tasted. Old Stone Church: Chef Wells led a one-time cooking demo at Old Stone Church (priced at $23.18). Tomato Bisque was so delicious that I immediately enrolled into the class. The series benefits Old Stone Church's scholarship programs and features a different chef every few months. Chef Wells prepared Moroccan Chicken Thighs with Jeweled Basmanti Rice. Candied orange, apricots, sun kissed raisins elevated this meal. The cooking demo was filled with stories, humor and good food. Beyond: Chef Wells offers cooking courses at Cornucopia. During the cooking class the participants are split up into groups of 4, and compete for the best dish. Cooking themes include various international cuisines, seafood, meat, and more. While I haven't been to any of these courses, they look fun in terms of exploring global cuisines. All workshop participants at the events I have attended rave about these classes! Chef Wells mentioned that you get plenty of food during the class. Chef also mentioned that he hosts in-home workshops for couples or groups. His team brings the restaurant experience to homes including dinner cooked on site and full cleanup. The experience is meant to be engaging with the staff. He also published an entire book about recipes for two. Cuisines vary based on preferences and multiple menus can be provided. Gift certificates are available, which seems like a great gift option. What's most exciting about Chef Wells is that he also teaches the kids global knowledge. He hosts events where the kids have to read up on certain cultures and then taste them. It's such a great way to get kids to develop a global mind and interest in other cultures. I look forward to attending other community experiences by Chef Wells. I will eventually make it to cooking classes. There are so many cuisines being highlighted that I'd love to experience (more eat than cook!)
