After a recent late-morning hike in the nearby Brecksville Reservation, my wife and I had always wanted to give this place a try and the timing was good for that option. Was not super-busy, so we found a table in the back corner. Server was really friendly and she took our drink and meal orders. My wife loves a black and blue style burger, so that's what she got and I am a wing fanatic, so that's what I chose. Food came out pretty promptly. The black and blue burger seemed like a frozen patty, and was just okay. Although the accompanying fries looked great and were well seasoned, they turned out to be undercooked which was a bit disappointing. My hot garlic wings were perfectly hot and crispy served with a thick blue cheese dressing and we both really enjoyed this dish. On the wings alone, I'd return, but maybe try another burger or some other food item? We shall see.

What can I say? I've been here 3×1st time. I've left a review. Come here about once a year. Only remind myself why I only come here about once a year. The service was stellar can't say anything wrong about that. None of the locals should be driving home, they're all bombed and then walk out to the parking lot and get their cars and drive off. I guess that's any bar. I had a burger. I asked we cook, medium rare and it came out well done. It just didn't taste good at all my wife had some type of sandwich she didn't care for either. This is what gets me two dollars per chicken wing! OK I understand when wings were expensive but if you're distributors charging you too much then find another one. Two dollars per wing is absolutely outrageous! Maybe this review will remind me not to come back.

The food is solid but the ambiance is definitely old biker bar. Not that I'm against that but the lingering smell of cigarette butts did nothing for the atmosphere nor palate. Our pulled pork sandwich was tasty and topped with the crunch of coke slaw. Dad's fish appeared freshly dipped and fried and mom enjoyed her patty melt. Service was friendly.

    Walleye dinner

Their chili and hotdogs are amazing. The Friday walleye special was very very good and the homemade tartar sauce is top notch. The bartenders are always very friendly.

I met a friend for breakfast this morning, and everything from start to finish was spot on. I ordered the Sweet Jalapeño Sandwich: an English muffin piled with jam, bacon, an egg cooked over medium, and cheddar, served with home fries. It was the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and just a little kick. My friend stuck with her usual: the Banana & Bourbon Caramel Bread Pudding French Toast, topped with fresh bananas and their homemade bourbon caramel sauce, plus a side of pork belly. It looked incredible and, according to her, tasted just as good as it always does. We arrived just a few minutes after they opened at 8:00 and were seated right away. The service was friendly, attentive, and very prompt without feeling rushed. Scratch has such a great casual, local diner feel, but with a menu that's anything but ordinary. The portions are generous, the flavors are unique, and the quality is consistently excellent. Definitely a go-to spot for breakfast or brunch...you really can't go wrong here.

White walls, glass windows in front, a few things hung on the walls. Not fancy, but pleasant. Very clean. The food is phenomenal. I've been dreaming about their biscuits and gravy since my last visit. Still perfect. The home fry-style potatoes are what a lot of places try to serve but fail at miserably. They are crispy AND fluffy! Yum! My scrambled eggs were not at all greasy or oily. My iced tea was delicious and refreshing. My lovely wife had the chorizo hash, which I tried. Oh, my. So good. And the chipotle crema on top was just perfect. They have excellent diner coffee here as well. My service experience was immaculate the first time and just OK today. He was fine initially, but I feel like he kind of forgot about us after he checked on our food. We were stuck way in the back. Maybe he was on a break, which is fine. I spent time as a waiter in two different restaurants, so I'm sympathetic, but I did not get a drink refill, and I wanted one pretty badly. This is one of my favorite breakfast spots, and it feels like a hidden gem.

And bfast all day which I highly recommend. Pancakes are soooo good. Today I got the buffalo chicken wrap with grilled chicken, with fries and cup of soup. The soup, chicken noodle was hot at the table. That's how soup is suppose to come to you hot! The buffalo chicken wrap was grilled and full of ingredients. Large portions and great lunch. But the menu is your standard fare, nothing exceptional, nothing creative, nothing done exceptionally well. They took the Denny's portion of the breakfast menu and simply duplicated it. It was incredibly, incredibly average food. And I mean av-er-age! The OJ was good... The coffee, frankly, was very good. Never underestimate a good cup of coffee. I created my own omelete, and added salmon, veggies, and feta. It was ok. Nothing exceptional. It did the job. I don't understand this.I asked if I could sub a pancake for the home fries? NOPE. Can't do it. They don't permit it. So I ordered one large blueberry pancake in addition to my omelete. It was a decent pancake with lots of blueberries. Liked it better than the omelete. My server was very kind and did what she could by not charging for the coffee. Ya gotta love a server who tries to be on the customer side of an unfair policy. She was awesome for that. My buddy got the big breakfast (whatever they call it), and the bacon looked awesome. There was a lot of food on his plate. My point is, if you want a basic, basic breakfast and nothing more, and you happen to be near one, you'll be fine. But if you like more than the 5 basic colors in your Crayola Crayon box, go elsewhere.
