Time for an update. Came here for lunch. Note that this location is closing. June 1st is their last day at this location. They are moving to their other location in Bedford as an expanded location. That out of the way. I still live this place. Good prices. Large portions. Fast courteous service. All the things you want in a diner. Strictly Bfast and lunch. But they do have dinner entrees you can order stuffed cabbage and fish dinner as well. Specials too. And bfast all day which I highly recommend. Pancakes are soooo good. Today I got the buffalo chicken wrap with grilled chicken, with fries and cup of soup. The soup, chicken noodle was hot at the table. That's how soup is suppose to come to you hot! The buffalo chicken wrap was grilled and full of ingredients. Large portions and great lunch. Lots of people for a Thursday afternoon. People ordering all types of Bfast and lunch foods. Stopped in for a late breakfast while passing through this area. Everything on the menu is available all day. Parking lot is busy - go slow and watch for pedestrians. Main entrance is accessible and bathrooms are gender-specific. Staff were friendly and seated us right away. Jackie answered all of my questions and took good care of us. Hubby had eggs, sausage, home fries and pancakes. He ate all of it! I had the Greek omelette with home fries and blueberry pancakes - real blueberries and real butter (no real maple syrup). Jackie suggested tzatziki with my omelette and it was delicious. I don't think I can ever have an omelette without it again! The blueberries were a bit chewy but the pancakes were great. I would order plain pancakes next time. We had time so decided to stroll through the adjacent store. There was even more restaurant seating in the back and the front half had some nice jewelry, ornaments, scarves etc. I bought a necklace for a friend and took it back to the restaurant to ring up. Hungry? Head here for major quantities of good home cooked food. Dropped in with a party of 4 on a Sunday around noon and was promptly seated and was impressed with extensive range of the menu. Two of us had the Irish skillet but we could have shared one. Giant plate of hash browns, topped with homemade corned beef hash, accompanied by two pancakes and three eggs. This was designed for leftovers or the offensive line of the Browns! Dad's perch dinner featured freshly fried fish and chips and was also a heaping serving. Come hungry and go home satisfied. Sorry to leave a review like this, very disappointing experience. My husband and I visited the Bedford location on this visit to Ohio. We did visit a different location a few years ago and that was good. Not sure if both locations would have the same experience now. My husband and I had a weird vibe from the moment we walked in. The young lady who seated us was expressionless, no welcome, no smile. I ordered coffee and when I asked the same young lady if she could bring some creamer, she went and grabbed a handful, and without saying a word she just threw it on the table. Since there were no creamers on the table when I ordered coffee our server should have noticed and offered it. Our server was nice, however, there was a little confusion with our order. Not sure what happened, she appeared to be an experienced server because she took our order without writing it down. She asked if we wanted home fries with our meal and we said yes. My husband's order was incorrect, another nice young lady fixed his order, however, we both noticed we got hash browns and not home fries. We inquired with our server about the home fries, she explained that she calls them home fries, however, the truck delivered hash browns and they serve what gets delivered. That's understandable, however, it would have been nice if she explained that from the beginning. The food and service was very subpar, toast was cold and the hash browns had an unpleasant aftertaste. Unfortunately, the food just didn't taste great. Food was good on a previous visit for breakfast so went after church Sunday for lunch but the door was locked at 1:30 despite their hours say open until 2:00 pm. Went in as someone was leaving and a waitress told me they were no longer seating. They should change their close time to when they start refusing customers! read more

I would give it a 5, except one issue. They're stingy with jelly. You have to ask for jelly. If you do ask for jelly, they grab a couple packs out of a drawer and place them on your table. There were 3 of us, we got one grape, one mixed fruit, and two apple. Who uses apple jelly? You shouldn't have to ask in the first place. read more

Dined here for the first time this past weekend - my mother has been here several times and recommended it - we dined for breakfast and the food was freshly prepared and came to the table hot - my husband had a waffle and it was a little too "soft" for my liking but it was on his plate and he enjoyed it - he also said his sausage links were delicious - my breakfast was also quite tasty - everyone on the wait staff was very welcoming and I kinda thought they could tell we were not regulars - a waitress (not ours) chatted us up a little bit and encouraged us to return someday for lunch service - based on our first meal and on the warm service we will definitely give lunch a try someday read more

Three of us had a nice breakfast at the Dolphin on a Saturday morning. We were seated and waited on promptly, and they have a diner type menu. I had a three egg vegetarian omelette with rye toast, and everything was good. My friends also enjoyed their breakfast and the coffee. Supringly pleased with our breakfast experience today. We were in the area for a bowling tournament and this was one of the few restaurants between our hotel and the alley. I ordered the Mexican skillet. Being Mexican, this seemed like a gamble for me being in Cleveland and I figured if I didn't like the chorizo, I had the eggs topping it, potatoes and toast to fall back on. I was pleased to learn I misjudged and ate whatever I could fit in my belly. It was pretty spicy, so if that's not your thing, my husband got the American omlette and also enjoyed it. Service was great, but we got there before the rush (started around 10am on Sunday). Coffee is ok and that seemed to be the only slight negative. The inside is cheerful and clean. Food options are limited in the Bedford area to say the least. This place has two locations I know of with this specific one being in Bedford. Seems they are both fairly busy and have consistent business. Price's are reasonable and the waitress was very nice. Overall very average food. read more

Between the food, the quick service, the fact that there is an adorable boutique next door and the most fabulous server, Frannie, this place has won my heart!!! When thinking about a diner experience, I imagine something much more drab than this simply decorated and welcoming spot. We were greeted and served by one of the most bubbly servers I've ever encountered at a diner. She came complete with a big smile and very pretty hair put up in a stylish little twist! (Doesn't everyone pay attention to hairdos?) We ordered fairly fast seeing as my friends had been here and knew the winning items. They mentioned their omelets were to die for. I am typically not an omelet person, but took them at their word. They also mentioned soup and French fries were a must here. We started with the potato soup. Super creamy, loaded with flavor and most importantly the temperature was right on point. Hot, but not scorching so that by the time it's ready the meal is over. We devoured it! Eight minutes after ordering, our meal was in front of us. I ordered the Greek omelet, it was very pretty like my friends had raved it was. Again, I am not a huge omelet person, so I didn't eat much of it. It was very fluffy and the Greek like flavors were there, maybe a little too much feta which can be an overpowering cheese, but if you are a fan of omelets and don't eat much meat like myself, this is a winner. The omelet came with a tzatziki sauce that was yummy, which I dipped my French fries in. This alone could have been my meal bc who doesn't love a plate of perfectly cooked French fries? The omelets also come with pancakes, and thank goodness they do because they were unbelievably delicious!! Super fluffy, a little sweet, perfect temperature and no need for anything but butter since they are so flavorful! COME FOR THE PANCAKES!!! Another friend got the house omelet, which I believe is his go to and ate every last bite, so without words, I think it's safe to say that's the way to go for an omelet filled with your favorite meats! My other friend ordered the patty melt also one of her favorites off the lunch menu. Lunch by the way begins at 11AM. Their menu also offers crepes which I personally love, but only of the sweet variety, so I believe there is some potential there to offer some savory crepe options and I will be back immediately to give them a try! To top off this quick breakfast, we were told there was a boutique next door called, The Purple Iris, for me, it's like an adult candy store and it was love at first sight! Their buyers really have an eye for unique stuff, from Jewelry, to candles, to wall plaques, to children's items, to gifts for everyone in your life, this place is really outstanding. They also have a beautiful patio where you can have party's or simply eat your breakfast from the Dolphin in the Summer. I found so many things I wanted to buy before I even made it half way through the store. So, grab your drawstring pants, go eat a filling yet satisfying meal, and then head directly next door to shop, which is especially not hard when you didn't go broke on the food! read more

I feel like most people would probably love this restaurant. It's a very typical American food. Type Resturant. They make many different kinds of omelettes. which happens to be one of my favorite breakfast meals. I had a veggie omelette with goat cheese it was absolutely delicious. One of the downsides of this restaurant is that you can't get real maple syrup as an option for an extra price with the many delicious crapes, pancakes and waffles that they make. I was sad when the Northfield location closed, but this is worth the 5 minute extra drive for me and the family. They have the same great diner food that comes out fast and in an always shockingly large amount. This location is smaller (more of a wait) but way more updated than the other location. We will be moving our monthly Sunday breakfast to this spot. read more

I've always wondered about this place. Thought it was closed when I drove past all the time and one day we decided to head there during breakfast time and see. Man I'm glad we did!! This is a cute local place that has another location in Northfield. This is obviously run by family or friends-they are all so sweet and informal. I like that for a breakfast place. Definitely a lot of locals, especially during the weekdays-people are known by name. The prices are very reasonable. And the portions are good, pancakes included with a lot of meals. (That's awesome) Feels like a friends house where mom is cooking breakfast. My friend LOVED the breakfast skillet. They recommended stuff really well! I have visited Dolphin Restaurant 5 times in the past week and half while working in the area. Each day I used my company AMEX. This morning I was told they do not take AMEX. When I brought up it has been taken every other time I dined there the woman behind the counter told me it costs them $5 for for every AMEX transaction. I tried to correct her stating credit card transactions are a % not a flat fee and AMEX was a higher %. I started to tell her she could add another 1% to the transaction when She told me she was not going to argue with me and processed my AMEX. I will not be back which is disappointing. Food was okay but my waitress never refilled my drinks. I had a water and coffee and neither was refilled (even after asking). I also asked for ketchup which was never brought over. I had to ask for the bill too, which she brought. Still tipped 15% but I usually tip 20-25. Hopefully waitress was just having an off day because it wasn't busy.
