The entire sausage sandwich had one small sausage link split in half across a massive ciabatta bun so it was all bread and no meat. Fish was just a tiny piece with lots of batter and "fry" but the tartar sauce was to die for. Luckily we got French fries on the side (which are always amazing) and I got to dip those in the remaining tartar sauce because I'm not kidding you I could drink it (LOL). The entrance did not say Primer, instead it had a Canvas sign. That was confusing. When we first arrived there were not many people but after about 30 minutes more people arrived. The decor was cozy despite the coffee shop being very large. There were not many pastry choices. My guess it is much busier as a cocktail bar in the evenings.

When you walk into the apartment building, there is also a shared workspace there as well. So there were quite a few people there working and meeting. It was nice to see a hustle and bustle, but I felt almost like at a hotel conference or college campus or something! Ordering was a little tricky too, as you just go up to the bar an order. There's not like a designated place to order, as far as I could tell. So if the bar was all full, it would be really awkward to order for a coffee setting! There was only one person working, so service was really slow. Which I didn't mind, but I also wasn't there working! I wasn't quite sure where I could enjoy my coffee either, since I didn't want to be in the way of any of the shared working groups and meetings. My coffee was DELISH though! I had a hazelnut latte. We shared the goat cheese with blackberry preserves and a Genoa flatbread and even with the three of us, we had a lot to take home with us. The duo and the flatbread were both incredible. The flatbread is actually two whole flatbreads and the dip was the size of a dinner plate. They were kind to get us an extra loaf of bread to go with the dip because we ran out. Their kitchen closed at 8 even though they were open until 9. That was about annoying because we considered ordering an additional dish but worked out fine since the dishes were so large.

We drink reds, so Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinot were ordered as they rated high/the best in California's latest wine competition. Young wines (less than 3 years) but good. The Pinot Noir was outstanding. Dinners are shared (I learned that) so order with that in mind. We had 1/2 loaf of bread, Vineyard Salad (excellent house dressing) and it was crisp, and Spaghetti Bolognese. All was prepared and presented very well. I'd order again. General Mgr Pete was personable and a wealth of information. Sun his graciousness, he offered a quick tour (and as a home winemaker myself) this was a treat. The production area was clean, limited in space, and organized. A barrel room is always a treat to visit and MA's is climate and humidity controlled. And of course smells fantastic. A great visit! The coffee was excellent and the sandwich really hit the spot! While seating in the lower level is limited, I've learned reading other reviews that there is an outdoor patio and an upper level too. Their website mentions that they run a sundry market here too; however I didn't spend much time shopping in the interest of not stretching my wallet too far during my travels. I also didn't check out the wine cellar in the lower level. While this shop is little, it clearly has a lot to offer, and I am so glad I found it during my visit to Cuyahoga. I'd absolutely stop by again during future visits to the area...and I'd love to time my next visit so I can check out that wine cellar!
