Agostino's is my favorite spot in Little Italy. Originally came on a whim on some random Thursday night post Grog Shop show and was met with some of the best food I've had on this side of Cleveland. Service is a bit slow but every time I've come I'm not looking to dine as quickly as possible, they are attentive and friendly. The red sauce is immaculate, sweet and rich. Every dish I've tried is so flavorful. I love the bread service they give as an option, as well as the pasta. You can really taste the care and love they have for the food. Valentines Day was spectacular. Incredible live performances and singing. It was packed but the dining room was beautiful and bustling. Had a great time and will be back for countless more meals. Our server was super attentive and fun. If not for her, we would have left before ordering. We had reservations for 6. The table was ready. That is the highlight of the night. It took an hour, an hour, an hour to get our drinks which consisted of two bottles of wine, a beer and a spritz. An hour. I am not exaggerating. After AN HOUR we placed our order. Agostino's decided they wanted to make extra money on Valentine's Day by seating a bunch of their reservations without prior notice in what they called the "event space" next door - really, just a blank, sterile room decorated with a few cheap Valentine's Day streamers hanging from the ceiling. This is coming from a guy who has a very low bar for ambience. Oof. Like dinner at a wedding that you don't want to be at. The food wasn't good. Chunk of uniformly soft eggplant parm with overcooked penne pasta. Arancini with cheese but no risotto on the inside - although the breading had a vaguely ricey flavor, maybe that's where the "risotto" was? I had been told ahead of time that just a few items wouldn't be available on Valentine's Day. I specifically asked about the gnocchi, and was told, yes, certainly, the gnocchi would be available. It wasn't. Indeed it wasn't "a few items" that were unavailable, rather, approximately half the menu. The manager told us on arrival that a discount on parking was included but at the end of the meal, the waiter (who was otherwise very nice) had no idea what we were talking about, so we had to go back next door to chase down the manager, who slipped me a ten. read more

Spacious tables around the bar and had some outside seating. Tried the calamari. Might have caught the kitchen on an off night. Lacked flavor and was dried out. Wouldn't recommend. Of all the potentially fabulous restaurants to choose from in Little Italy, we elected to try Agostino's for two reasons. The first being the menu selections of things we wanted and, two they had a kids menu published. Overall, the food and drinks were very good and would highly recommend going there. The place had a warm and inviting atmosphere. The server was very knowledgeable of the menu offerings and had lots of suggestions. The taste and quality of the food was outstanding. Specifically, our plan was to have some drinks, followed by enjoying items off a Charcuterie board. We would then like to enjoy some Mussels Marinara and Clams Giuseppe. When ordering the server suggest the Bread Service, which we really did not want, but convinced us to change our minds. It did not disappoint and worth every penny. After the shellfish appetizers we were going to sample the Burrata Salad. Then finally try the Eggplant Parmesan. Our granddaughter ordered her usual Chicken Strips. However, there were several disappointments: #1- The wine the wife wanted, while listed on the wine menu, was no longer served there. Oh well. #2- I requested that we would like to have our order come out of the kitchen in a specific sequence so we could enjoy the meal at our pace and not feel rushed. (Please keeping in mind that there were only one or two other tables being served and they were not busy at 4:30). We wanted to relax, enjoy our drinks and chat then enjoy our food. I thought that was a simple and reasonable request, but did not turn that way. We felt rushed, and our request ignored, as if to get us on our way before the place filled up. There were still not very many tables seated as we left which left us wondering why the big rush. Our money is as green as everyone else's. #3 - The first thing(s) served up were the Mussels, Charcuterie Board, the Chicken Strips (which we asked to be served to accommodate our granddaughter ASAP), and shortly thereafter, the Bread service. A large quantity of food all at once and no time to enjoy, just eat. Wait too long and the Mussels get cold. In a nut shell our requested service sequence was ignored. #4 - It would have been nice to know, up front (in the menu or be told) that the kids Chicken Strips are served with a side vegetable and not fries, potato or rice, or even a small side of pasta. Most six years olds are not into eating asparagus. The server offered the Buttered Kids Spaghetti. One of our granddaughter's favorites. Unfortunately, is was already sprinkled with cheese which is not one of her favorites. I would suggest that the sprinkle cheese be in a vessel on the side or be told about it in advance. It should be noted that the chicken and asparagus we sampled was very good along with the buttered spaghetti, just not how she likes to have it. We did not have an issue for being charged for both kid's meals, but somewhat surprised. No worries. It is what it is. #5 - The Charcuterie Board was plentiful and delicious but did not contain all of the items described in the menu. Specifically, it lacked roasted red peppers and Capicola (pepperoni fill-in) and very few mixed imported olives. #6 - I ordered Mussels Marinara and received Mussels in white wine sauce. The pretty web site menu picture of the offering is a little bit different then what I got as far as quantity, and six of the quantity that I received were not open. The house made good on replacing the bad mussels and a few extra. Thank you for doing that. The last thing to come out of the kitchen were the Clams Giuseppe after somewhat of a delay considering how quickly the other food was put on our table. They were very good. Shortly thereafter, the owner, I believe came to the table to check on us, and we complimented him on the food. We don't normally complain or cause a scene in front of other customers. We are just the customer that does not come back if it's not what we expected. We were then asked if we were ready for the Burrata Salad and place our order for the Eggplant Parm at which point we cancelled the remain ordered items. We would have loved to try those items but had the feeling that we needed to eat and leave. Our granddaughter was very well behaved and remained busy coloring while waiting and during the meal. We declined the offer of considering a dessert but we were told that there was a great Gelato shop across the street. Wow! She was correct. We enjoyed some gelato across the street. Once again the food was outstanding and would highly recommend this place, it just did not meet our expectations of customer requested serving accommodations and what is shown in the menu (or lack of a description) versus what was served. It is extremely important that no matter where you choose to dine in Little Italy you arrive as soon as the restaurant opens or shortly thereafter. We attempted to eat at any available restaurant there on Monday evening around 7pm and every place was packed and no place to park. read more

We had a party of 20 today for lunch. I had never eaten here before. The atmosphere was upscale, yet casual. The restaurant is located in Little Italy and we had a van bus driver so thankfully we didn't have to look for parking. The entire area is very charming and nostalgic. The restaurant is very clean and the staff was great. We felt welcomed and were seated right away. The service was excellent and food came out quickly for a party of 20. I started with the bread which was fresh baked and some of the best I have had. It was served with an olive medley and balsamic drizzled on the plate with olive oil. Absolutely delicious! We next had the calamari and it was excellent. Very light and cooked perfectly. The marinara sauce was great with it. I also had the mussels with red sauce and the lobster ravioli. Lovely new airy open place in Little Italy next to Corbo's. Tasty fried calamari, tasty mozzarella wedges. Loved the garlic bread which came with three pieces covered in tomato sauce and overtop was a slice of cheese. So much garlic they were spicy. The cavatelli bolognese portion was huge with piping hot pasta amongst a meaty sauce with lots of flavor. read more

I just ordered this place on doordash today and I am wildly disappointed. $32 for the chicken marsala and they give me one small piece of chicken that was 100% microwaved. I can tell by the flavor when chicken has been microwaved, and it also has the rubbery and tough texture. I've gotten this same meal once in the past for delivery, and that time it was twice the size and the chicken tasted fresh and delicious -- the two large pieces of chicken, i should add. Today, the $8 kids meal I also ordered had more food than the $32 entree. I don't know what happened with my order this time around, but after today's experience I will absolutely not be returning. read more

We had a wonderful "to go" dining experience when ordering food from Agostino's and can't wait to return in the future. We had Veal Picatta which was superb! It featured a pan-seared veal cutlet finished in a lemon butter white wine sauce, accented with capers The spaghetti served alongside was delicious and perfectly prepared. We also enjoyed an order of the rigatoni and meatballs, which were also packed with fabulous flavor and tasted like authentic family recipes. The restaurant offers lovely indoor as well as al fresco dining, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. To finish the meal, we enjoyed a slice of their white cheesecake, an excellent choice for dessert. While waiting for the to go order, I also enjoyed a few sips of their wonderful limoncello which was terrific! What truly made the restaurant special was the friendly, professional staff. We also loved discovering the charm of Cleveland's Little Italy and look forward to returning. As someone who helps organize the annual Festa Italia in Monterey, California, it made me smile to experience this historic Italian neighborhood with its welcoming atmosphere, rich heritage, and authentic character. I came here last night with a good friend and we had a great time! The ambiance is nice and there was live music. We sat at the bar to get a few apps and drinks which we really enjoyed! Also the service was phenomenal!! Every staff member we crossed paths with was so friendly and they also let us try a slice of espresso cake one of their chefs had made. I will be back! The food and service was absolutely incredible!! We were served by Shane and he was able to accommodate any requests we had. We ordered the garlic bread, calamari, and arancini as appetizers (we're appetizer people!), and ordered the scampi risotto, gnocchi vodka blush sauce, and the rigatoni and meatballs as our entrees. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside and both the exterior and interior of the restaurant are beautiful! Went in and we were promptly seated and our server, Shane, took excellent care of us. We tried the meatballs, house salad, lobster Ravioli, and tiramisu. All were delicious. I wasn't originally planning to leave a review, but here we are. I made reservations through OpenTable for Saturday, May 9 at 6 p.m. for a party of five to celebrate my sister's birthday. After dinner, I received an email asking me to review the restaurant, so I did. I gave mostly two-star ratings across the categories (overall, food, service, ambiance, and value). On OpenTable, two stars are labeled "fair" and three stars are "good." In my opinion, the experience was not "good," so I rated it accordingly. Today, Wednesday, May 20, I received a response from Agostino's through OpenTable that simply said, "Any reason?" The response came across as defensive and off-putting rather than genuinely interested in feedback. A response such as "What could we have done better?" would have been much more professional. For context, here was my experience: The service was not very good. Our waitress incorrectly charged us double for the $5 add-on salads and argued with us about it until we asked to see the menu and pointed out the mistake ourselves. While she eventually corrected the bill, her attitude throughout the interaction felt unprofessional. Given the atmosphere, pricing, and high reviews, I expected much better service. The food itself was just okay. Overall, the service and setting did not justify the prices. Everything felt noticeably overpriced for the quality we received. The drinks were expensive for well liquor and were inconsistent and underwhelming. My pizza, in particular, was disappointing, especially for $24. I initially attempted to leave a review on Google, but I noticed that Agostino's business profile currently displays a notice stating: "Suspicious high-rated reviews were recently removed from this place." According to Google, this notice appears when automated spam filters detect potential review manipulation or suspicious review activity. Because of that, I lowered my review here to one star. EDIT: As a note to the business manager responding to negative reviews, if you choose to respond to customer reviews on behalf of the business, it's important to handle negative feedback professionally. Defensive responses often reinforce customers' concerns and leave a worse impression on potential customers reading the exchange. He had more than a smile but an approach to making us feel welcomed and heard. Even on a fully booked Saturday night he was patient and considerate. Now the food The bread to start was not if the best fresh baked bread made with olive oil I have ever have. I own my own pizza trailer and love italian but this sealed the deal for a delightful experience. Then with the bread we ordered the fried mozzarella, which stood out on it's own. Their homemade marinara sauce fueled the fire to this simple yet cooked to perfection Italian cheese delicacy. The Main course I am a simple man, known for never wavering from my consistencies. This was our first visit to Agostino's. The ambience and decor is very welcoming and friendly. The service was spot on. We never felt rushed, and everything came out in a timely manner. The food was delicious. I had the steak salad and bruschetta and it was very very good. My husband had The veal parmigiana which comes with a side of pasta, he also ordered the meatballs and the appetizer of mussels. He said everything was absolutely delicious. And he is a particular eater, especially when it comes to seafood. This is a new business and well deserving of your patronage. We will be going back. This place had the worst food we have had in a while. The chicken piccata was terrible along with the shrimp and risotto which were all swimming in butter. The chicken Marsala was so sweet and not a normal gravy was so watery and flavorless. It was so sad to spend $300 on such terrible food. Save your money not worth it. read more

We had dinner here on Saturday night and the food was delicious. The service was absolutely horrible. I took 15-20 minutes before anyone came to get our drink order. We were a party of 6 and there were only 4 place settings so when the appetizers came we had to go find a waiter to bring silverware. The bruschetta was amazing. Large crusty pieces of bread on the outside and tender bread in the center. Tomatoes and basil had a delicious blend of flavors. Went to Valentine's Day and it was ok. I liked the ambience a LOT! They had a band and the decorations were cute but I wish the lights were dimmer. They clearly were trying to push us out to squeeze in more people, we were there for maybe 45 min. The food was very overpriced for the quality, but it wasn't horrible. We made reservations well in advance for Valentine's Day dinner at Agostino's in Little Italy. We were looking forward to it for weeks as we love dining in Little Italy and had not yet been to Agostinos. We arrived there tonight, and they sat us in a cinderblock garage next door at a folding card table covered with a tablecloth, the Walmart Valentine's Day decoration package hanging from the ceiling with fishing line and not a single item of artwork on the walls. The floor was covered with adhesive carpet squares on the floor a la Holiday Inn. The rear of the garage had an industrial curtain separating the concrete hallway leading to the alley around back of the building. The establishment was very clean, bright and had a cozy atmosphere. You could read the menu without a light from your phone. The food was very flavorful. My order was the lobster ravioli, the sauce was great! My husband had the linguine with Alfredo sauce and added grilled chicken. The chicken unfortunately tasted boiled instead of grilled, otherwise it was very good. For dessert I had the limoncello cake...that was Devine! Just got back from Agostino's which is now open at its new location in Little Italy. The tomato sauce on the rigatoni is outstanding. The tanginess of the sauce is something you really can't get anywhere. So authentic. Such class. The chicken piccata and chicken Marsala melted in your mouth. They pound out the chicken and tenderize it. So good. They take their time and do it right. The butter and lemon in the piccata sauce was bursting with flavor. The Marsala sauce was great as well. They put enough sauce on the dishes so that you get all the flavor with each bite. The bruschetta was made with imported olive oil mixed in with the tomatoes and fresh herbs. Service was fantastic. Frank the chef came out and talked with us and other customers. He wasn't overwhelming, just really wanted to know how things tasted. Great guy. Really cared about the experience. All the Little Italy restaurants are fantastic, but head over to Agostino's....you'll see. It's just a little step up from the others. read more
