Great food and good service. Great selection of desert food too! My favorite is the omelets.

Fried were cooked so many times they were like Fossils. They seem to have gotten ride of all the decent staff and my French dip sucked. Then the kids deserts came out with Cool Whip on them, not whipped cream. All in all very underwhelming and I'll be driving to Bridgewater for diner food. I won't be back here. read more

We ordered salads and they were just okay. Nothing to write home about. Our waitress was pleasant and accommodating. The interior is clean and very attractive. My only complaint was with the host who I believe may have been the manager. He wasn't very friendly at all. Also, we literally heard loud yelling from the kitchen. Food was horrible. Order was wrong. Waiter just never came back. We had to have our bill corrected and some of the food that was completely unedible removed. Host said, "Hey were not perfect", instead of sorry about your food or sorry that your waiter never came back. Went here when they first opened and it was pretty good. Have been there several times lately and loved the food and the service. I have been to a number of diners and have to say my partner and I loved this place. Clean, lovely decor, good menu and friendly service. Now they have the basic two for one which is an outrageous deal. I can't see what everyone else is complaining about. I went with a friend yesterday for Brunch. I had the French Toast with Walnuts on top and with Fresh Fruit. I didn't think much when one of the grapes had a spoiled spot. Can easily be overlooked. When we were finished, we were asked if we wanted anything else and I requested a BlueBerry Muffin to take home. I was planning on having it for breakfast this morning. The diner looked clean and the waitress was very pleasant with her service and personality and a tip was left accordingly. This morning when I took my first bit from my blueberry muffin, immediately I tasted mold. I thought, maybe it was me, but after a couple more bites, yes indeed, each bite had that horrible taste of mold. So, beware on their baked items. I've been told by a previous customer of the Spinning Wheel Diner (same owners), on Route 22 in Lebanon, that the pastry turn over is not great and they too have gotten pastries that had mold on the bottom. I thought it was quite odd, since this is a new diner. It will take me a while before I go back, if I go back. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE! First time ever eating here and i was completely disappointed. I'm not one to complain but if you want a good meal than spend your money elsewhere. I ordered one of their eggs benedict breakfast SPECIALS and the order came out wrong, the whole thing was very bland and not appetizing at all. My friend ordered an omelet but they forgot the toast and when it was finally served it was burnt to a crisp. The service was great, very attentive but the food was horrible (they should hire people who can cook GOOD food, not someone who can just throw garbage on a plate!). ANOTHER thing was the owner/manager creeped me out, he was constantly watching the staff but he kept standing so close to our table he could have practically sat with us. I wanted to love this place because Flemington desperately needs a good diner - but this is not it. Handicap parking too far away from entrance. No bread with lasagna, had to request. Who knew one had to order "Rt. 31" (pastrami, horseradish, sauerkraut; Waiter said next time order "greasy or not greasy." Napkins of much lesser quality than McDonald's and having had a greasy sandwich one napkin was not enough, had to request more napkins. Gravy had a chemical taste. This experience was my 2nd and last dining there. First time was very good, portions were more than ample, even took home leftovers; this time wouldn't have been enough IF I was able to eat the grease. read more

First off, I felt the staff was falling all over each other. A couple of near miss collisions. My waitress when I asked her for a dessert menu told me if I wanted to know what they had I had to get up out of my seat and go look at the display. Uh really? We are regulars at the spinning wheel and know these are the same owners. After waiting what seemed like forever for this place to open, we were excited to try this place. The place is big and clean. Staff is friendly, but rushed. The place was packed and noisy. I ordered a gyro and my spouse a chicken sandwich. We also ordered a cup of Matzo ball soup. The soup had no flavor and was luke warm. The food-mediocre. The waitress spilled half of my fries all over the table and just said, "That's ok....they give you a lot of them". I didn't eat them anyway. They were cold. The coleslaw, which was always great at the spinning wheel tasted like it was half home made and half mixed with that terrible stuff you get out of a tub. Sad to see the food could not hold up. I work in Flemington and waited for this place to open for the longest time. First, second time awesome! Third, fourth... mediocre but whatever it's a diner and lately it's just BAD. Service is RUDE... I went there today for breakfast/lunch and brought a co-worker and another work associate and I will never eat there again. I will also tell everyone in my building not to eat there anymore. No one refilled my water, when I asked where the rest of my meal was I got an attitude and food slammed on the table. Never asked how my food was (it was overcooked) probably because she left it under the heater shelf in the kitchen and she started clearing dishes as I was still cutting my food. I don't care if you had a bad week, I had a bad one too and I refuse to pay to be treated like crap while being served mediocre food. The management is obviously absent. Our waitress was extremely rude. When she came over to take our order, I asked what cereals they had. When my 6 year old son took a few seconds to decide which one he wanted, the waitress stomped her foot and asked the next table if they were ready to order. I've never had anything like this happen to me. I was in complete shock and did not know how to react. I was with my children and did not want to make a scene, so I stayed put. Worst food I've ever had at a diner! I've been to diners all over New Jersey and New York City and I've never had food at a diner that was THIS bad. I ordered a BLT and my toast was literally black. While eating the BLT I could taste the burnt taste in my mouth. I don't know who is working in the kitchen, but I don't know how you could allow a BLT with toast that burnt to leave your kitchen. The people who were with me were also not happy about their meals at all. Under our table was filthy also, my feet were sliding around on I don't even know what. We didn't complain to the waitress about anything because we aren't like that at all, and we didn't want to cause a scene or something. Also, the prices are INSANE. Never spent that much at a diner in my life. Our waitress and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly though. I felt it was necessary to write a Yelp review because the food was that bad. The diner is very nice inside and out and the bathrooms were very nice and smelled fantastic for being diner bathrooms, but the food is just terrible. Just ate here for the first time. The place is very nice inside and even has an old fashion soda fountain. They have a wide variety of fresh baked deserts as well. The service was fast and friendly. They have an extensive menu with traditional diner food. Overall we enjoyed the meal. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE! They are on probation from the health department (which they are required to post clearly, but the paper is conveniently covered up by knick knacks.) For good reason, too. Not only does the building have a bad cockroach and mold problem, but the owners simply ignore health regulations. If a huge cockroach is found cooked in the soup, they fish it out and continue serving the soup. If a piece of toast is dropped on the floor, you are told to immediately pick it up and serve it anyway. The bacon is kept in a large metal container under heat lamps, and servers have to fish through it with their unwashed, ungloved hands to find a suitable piece. And canned foods like applesauce are left in their original cans uncovered in fridges, growing green mold. I left on good terms, but the sanitation problems were the reason I left. read more

I will never eat at this place again. Met a friend for late breakfast today. My friends meal came with toast and right before he went to take a bite, a quarter size area of mold was on his bread. It was disgusting to say the least. When we tracked down our server he apologized and brought over a new order of toast. When we got the bill nothing was done about serving us the moldy bread. Our server said the manager would take off his meal for the accident. Here is why I will never eat there again. If this guy is the manager, this place will not survive. When we told him about the situation his response was "things happen and you got new toast". When we said our server told us his meal would be comped, the managers response was "tell the server to come over here and pay it for you then". I get it that things happen with food, but the customer service we received from the manager was rude and completely disrespectful. For how the manager treated the situation is enough that I will never step foot in this place again. It wasn't like a steak was cooked medium and not medium well...this was MOLD on toast being served. I wish we had taken a picture to post to show how moldy this toast was. read more

I believe in giving people a second chance and usually I give them a third/fourth chance. But today I am done with the. Flemington-Diner (PREVIOUSLY KNOWN AS FLEMINGTON RARITAN DINER). Since they've changed hands I have given them several chances to redeem themselves (several times poor service & food that was lackluster). Today was the final straw. My mother-in-law and I went to breakfast there this morning and were in there probably close to an hour. It was after breakfast yet before lunch. There were hardly any people in the restaurant and the ones that were there for the most part had their food that we could see as we were walking in. As far as I can tell our waitress had 3 tables but we barely saw her at all. My mother-in-law ordered eggs over well (supposed to be served yolk intact but not runny) and I ordered mine poached (supposed to be served on the side in a cup with the yoke runny). After we placed our order we didn't see our waitress and couldnt even ask for more coffee. I can understand if it was busy but it wasn't. When order did come out, (1/2 hr after we gave order to waitress) my eggs were so hard you could literally stick a fork in it and my mother-in-law's yolks were broken which was not how she ordered them. Our food was barely warm to the touch but yet again the waitress disappeared and we could not say anything to her. (Not that I would have had her fix the order because we all hear the horror stories of sending food back LOL). We had to track her down in order to even get our check. At that point I decided to talk to the manager on my way out and let him know how disappointed I was at how bad the service had been as well as the food not coming out as we had ordered or even hot for that matter. He looked at me, said he was sorry, and proceeded to charge me for the entire order... for food that we could not even finish. At that point I just paid and left knowing that I would never step foot in the place again and chalked it up to a lesson learned. It's a shame when they first opened they were fantastic. read more

I had a wonderful experience. We arrived around 7pm on a Tuesday and were seated right away. The inside is beautiful. Clean and new. The staff was very nice. Sara was our waitress. She was very good. The food was soo good! It tasted great and the portions were big. I brought home leftovers. Had one of their specials. The Meatloaf. It was really good. For $12.99. You get soup, salad and dessert with the entree. It was a great deal. Would recommend and would go again. read more

Went for breakfast with my brother. I had some scrambled eggs and toast it wasn't bad. My brother had pancakes and bacon, both were overcooked. I had asked for a large orange juice and my brother had just an orange juice. Both were the same size. The waitress a young girl was great. After receiving the check, I noticed the two orange juices were 5 dollars and a hidden 1.80 for the large orange juice. I commented about this to the cashier and they said the owners were stricklers about things. I said I could have gotten 2 cartons of oj for 7 dollars. Glad I know the restaurant nickle and dimes everything. The side of bacon alone was 3 dollars. We had a party of six on this past Wednesday. Two in our party had the meeting time wrong, but we waited for their arrival. Our waiter, Brian, could not have been more cordial or attentive. He was definitely the bright spot of the day!! I ordered the chicken Caesar salad with dressing on the side. The chicken looked good on top of the salad, but when I started eating it, I soon found out that the fat on the underside of the chicken had not been removed. I turned it over, and saw the whole piece was covered in it. There is nothing worse than eating meat that is chewy, and with a thick layer of fat that should have been cut off! We have been here multiple times for breakfast and have always been pleased with our meal. Went last night for dinner and was underwhelmed. I got the chicken Palermo sandwich (roasted peppers & portabello mushrooms) and the roll was spongy and there was NO seasoning whatsoever. My husband had one of the specials, tilapia ala Angelo. It came with a lot of food, soup, salad and 2 vegetables. Once again the fish had no seasoning. My daughter had the buffalo chicken wrap and was disappointed. She had had it once before when they first opened and there was something different about it and not in a good way. I recommend it for breakfast but be cautious about the rest of the menu read more
