I bought a pair of shoes at Fleet Feet in late March 2024. I tried them on in the store - they were a brand of shoe I've had before - Hoka - they felt fine, so I bought them. Aiden was my Sales Rep - he did an excellent and friendly job! After wearing them for a few days, my heels were aching. I stopped wearing the Hokas - the pain was gone in a day. No one made me buy them or pushed me into them - I did that all on my own. I decided to go back to the store a few days later to ask if there was anything that could be done about my heel problem. Manager Ashley helped me greatly - she listened, she helped me select a different shoe (one with less "drop") and she exchanged the Hokas for a different brand that are working fantastic - no more heel pain. The Customer Service was excellent and friendly, and I'm very happy. Fleet Feet has made a customer for life out of me! Went into the store for the first time back in late august or early sept looking for some good work shoes for my son. The gal who helped us was very nice. Ended up buying some Hokas and after a couple weeks of wearing them my son said they were helping his foot pain. So, I went online and bought a second pair so he would have two pairs for work. I just noticed the other day that both pairs are falling apart. The backs of the first pair are coming out in chunks and the lining is unraveling and coming apart on the second pair. I called the store today and they said five months is about as long as those shoes are expected to last. I was shocked. At almost $200 a pair , that seems ridiculous. Anyways , maybe this is just a bad review for Hokas and not Fleet Feet but I was hoping for at least a discount on a replacement pair but no more Hokas for us. Maybe Fleet feet should warn Hoka purchasers about the short life span of these shoes. read more

Fleet Feet scores again with customer service! I went in yesterday with a recently purchased pair of shoes that made my feet hurt. I had walked (average 5 miles, 5 days/week) for about a month. They were the same brand I have bought the last couple of years, but a different model. I brought the shoes into the store with me, mostly to show them the wear and explain the pain I had been having. They cheerfully fitted me with the model I had worn previously (which had been out of stock when I got this most recent pair). I did not ask for a credit, but they took back my old shoes and I paid only the difference in price. My feet are happy again and so am I. Thank-you :-) read more

I've never been in a shoe store that gives such personalized service. These people took a lot of time with me showing me what kind of running shoes and insoles I should have. I've got a major amount of orthopedic problems and their shoes and insoles having me walking more normal. I haven't walked this well in years!! And although I can't run for exercise they help me on the elliptical machine at the gym. I can exercise longer because I'm not in pain anymore. read more

I've been shopping at Fleet Feet since I first came to Chico 35 years ago. The current owners are the 4th ownership since the store opened and by far the best. They work hard at developing a quality staff and they've kept the store focused on the needs of runners rather than wandering off into weight training and such like a prior owner. One of the owners helped me to change some pre-conceptions about what I needed in a shoe and helped me dramatically. Of course a local small business can't match online prices, but the value of knowledgeable help is well worth it. And, they contribute significantly to growing the sport with their clinics and classes - which has real value. read more

The shoes weren't quite right and even though I owned them for a couple months (though I hadn't ran in them much) they fitted me for a new pair of shoes and exchanged them for me! After a lag due to miscommunications, customer service went above and beyond expectations. I purchased a Flipbelt (competitively priced) and needed to resize. They accepted my used and washed product with no original packaging or receipt. No questions asked. Then, when they could not order my resize through their supplier, bought it from a sister store, and had it shipped local- with shipping on their dime. I was really impressed with their involvement and expecting nothing in return, which is why I decided to get shoes from this store. Never have I had so much genuine assistance purchasing something. I would not recommend this store to anyone. They push SuperFeet inserts with every purchase of shoes. This is a ridiculous sales method. Not every customer needs inserts to fix rare foot problems. I have heard several local runners complaining about foot problems due to inserts they were talked into buyuing at Fleet Feet. I like to purchase my running shoes from other runners. I found that very few of the employees at Fleet Feet are even runners. This is a shoe store not a runners store. read more

I am brand new to running and was nervous as could be going in. But everything online for running tips insists go to a dedicated running store--not just a general sporting goods store--and get the right shoes, so I went for it. Fleet Feet was awesome. Very friendly, immediately made me feel comfortable. He explained every part of the process, what he was looking for, and what the individual components were doing. Turns out I have funky feet (super long but skinny) but they weren't phased at all. He brought out a variety of shoes and had me try them on, and knew what to tell me to feel for. Additionally he asked a lot of questions about my workout plans and was able to fill me in with lots of tips. I learned more about running, the physics of everything, and the market of running shoes than I ever expected in an hour. Expect to spend about an hour there, but it will be well worth it. My husband and I decided to try doing the Couch to 5K. Their website says, if you can walk comfortably for 15 minutes, you can do this. My husband and I had been walking for months, 40 minutes at a time. So we signed up. After spending a lot of money at their store, we attended the first meeting where they told us that the only way we were to contact them with questions is via email. When you do the Couch to 5K, you do two sessions a week with a coach and the third one you're on your own. After two sessions, we couldn't remember the warm-up and cool-down stretches/exercises, so I emailed asking for a link, a hand-out, anything to refresh our memories on the stretches and exercises. Nothing. No response. I tried emailing multiple times and never got responses. And the Couch to 5K is a lot harder than we would have thought, considering they said you could do it if you walked comfortably 15 minutes at a time, and we were way beyond that. I ultimately ended up hurting my knees so bad, I could hardly walk for a week. read more
