God help you if you have mobility problems. After trying to walk the store for selection and then 1 (ONE) dressing room, and the back and forth for the right size wasn't bad enough. But, then there is only 1 check out area, with mostly self-checkouts (with no one to assist understanding how to use them) and 1 (ONE) register person with a waiting line of 5-6 customers. So, after having no choice, due to hip pain, I left the 2 clothing items at the self- check and had to endure the walk back to my car. What is so hard about hiring enough people to man more than 1 register and your self-check area?! read more

This is a very niche review but I just have to leave it. I had left a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses in a dressing room about ten years ago and my wallet in a cart a few days ago... Both times, angelic people had taken both my items to the customer service kiosk in the back of the store without hesitation. Nothing was stolen out of my wallet and my glasses were intact when I got them back. I just wanted to thank those people and I hope that good karma comes back to them ten fold. There are good people everywhere! A review on the store itself: the staff are always kind and helpful. They have sooo many options for clothes and home decor. This has been my go to store for clothes shopping for the last decade or so and I'm always complimented on my outfits! I do not plan on returning. They have been losing my loyalty through the years and this last visit solidified that. I bought a pair of jeans there, they've been untouched with tags on since the purchase. They would not return them even though the receipt said nothing about the policy they were trying to enforce of it being past the return timeframe, which is a fairly new policy in itself. I was ready to check out with about $80 worth of merchandise and walked up to check out. I was then told that Kohls is closing those check outs and we now have to check out at the other side. I looked and there were two workers and about 9 people in line. This has got to be the most lame brain move a department store could make. Have run into a few rude cashiers here once in a while. Other staff are great and helpful. A lot of overpriced stuff. Jackets and suitcases are usually double or triple other store prices in town. The only thing worth looking at are holiday gadgets, silver jewelry, home appliances, kid toys, Carter's and some kid clothing. Men and women clothing cater more to the older generations. Most adult clothing they carry are for taller people, and ill fitting for younger and petite bodies. Love the Amazon returns that Kohl's is offering. Lots of parking, clean store. Organization depends on when you go or near holiday times. They do not have Prop 65 Warning labels on shelves on items that they sale that do carry the Prop 65 Warning which is a huge concern as I bought a blender there a while back to make baby food which contained cancer causing chemicals. Tonight I went in to shop for Christmas presents. When I went to pay I was was not greeted by the cashier. She gave me an annoyed look and was rude to me during the entire transaction. I felt like I was burdening her. I could tell that she was having a bad night so I just tried to be nice to her. At the end of the transaction I politely asked if she could toss a piece of paper for me and she belittled me for asking. "Well if you really want people finding your personal information, sure." With a huge eye roll. She intentionally tried to embarrass me. I understand that the holidays can be hard when you work in customer service, but good customer service is really important! I work in customer service too, and I get it, customers can be jerks. But I was being really nice... I just don't like the way that "Terri" talked to me tonight. Rude for no reason. At 2:45 p.m 08-08-2018 the same girl didn't get her name but she is 5'5 ish brown hair in a ponytail with black framed glasses that scammed my mother out of her return losing the $10.00 kohls cash and not making a simple exchange for the same bank socks just a bigger size at $1.00 more she said nope, today she brought up again it was cheaper to keep the socks and towels she said it was my Mother's choice to return it, I told her YOU told her it was cheaper to her reply was I can't help you and becides that was a different transaction so I'm not going to do anything, so by her own words she admits she was wrong in her incompataint logic and extremely unapologetic about the whole debacle. Went to Kohl's on Black Friday, I was checking out, put my pin in and the cashier had cancelled the transaction because they had been having debit issues, and said I should have entered my pin. How am I supposed to know that? She then proceeded to get her manager who told me my transaction DID NOT GO THROUGH even though it was on my checking account app. They had me check out again because they promised it didn't go through. A couple of days later it DID IN FACT POST. I am now out $50 and when I ask for them to help me they say there is nothing they can do at the store, i call corporate and they aren't taking calls. I'm going to have to finally review Kohl's and give them 2 stars. During primetime they have yet to figure out that all they have to do is put on another cashier. Those busy hours are just insane and are *not* worth it! The staff is friendly though. The main reason I'm writing a review though is for the makeup section. Or should I say a lack thereof? There is no makeup section. I believe corporate has decided to stop ordering and the poor managers seem to have no clue as to what the new deal is going to be so the customers and employees are "left in the dark" as far as knowing whether new shipments are supposed to be coming in or whether they are going to merely drop a particular item. At least that's what I'm being told by the managers and staff. It appears though, that the entire makeup section is going to be dropped? All I know is theres it's slim pickens over there. I kindly asked an employee for help in the kid's department and she said she would grab someone from that section of the store. After a while( I had waited around 15 min), I went again to the same employee and ask if someone was on their way and she responded in a rude tone saying " I already called someone they will be there shortly". I then asked if she could please check the price on this item and she responded in an impolite and pompous way. I did OK....when usually, I totally score. I'm moving from juniors to misses and was totally lost, with no help in sight. I couldn't find shorts that fit under $18 (I'm a size 9) and was really hoping to find a cute summer dress. All in all I did alright and LOVE the wedges I got there, even though they were $37. It's now been more than 10 years since Kohl's first came to Chico and I've enjoyed every minute of my time at this department store. They always have nice clothing on sale and I've always bought quality clothing from them. The store is pretty big and it's easy to make it around the place without feeling lost. The clearance sections are a good place to find some good clothing at a reduced price. Dressing rooms are clean and easy to use. Since I've never had a problem at this store, I've got nothing negative to say. There're always coupons to use so I can save money and enjoy whatever I buy. I usually buy my shoes from here. I once bought 2 pairs of Nike shoes for $110. Pretty good since one pair of Nike shoes can run $70+. read more

The employees were very rude. Left feeling completely humiliated! My friend and I went to Kohl's to buy a new bra. After about 10 minutes of browsing to pick out which ones we liked we proceeded to the fitting rooms to try them on. When we got to the fitting room we we're greeted by 4 employees who made it a point to make us feel uncomfortable as possible. One of them even voiced out loud on the walkie talkies " I have my eyes on both subjects- please inform me when Chico PD gets here". We aren't low life theives and both couldn't believe how we were treated. They made sure to take our bras out of our hands and count them upon entering and exiting the fitting room. Also, stopped us to make sure the room was completely empty before we went it. We have NEVER been treated with so much disrespect from a stores employees. They went WAY above and beyond the normal security procautions and didn't care how they made us feel in the process. We won't be going back anytime soon. Prices are moderate if you use discounts or Kohls CASH. As with all retail, it always depends on the workers attitude on how well they will treat you. It takes more than once causation to cause one to have a bad day or an out burst. I have not had a bad situation, yet, here at kohl's. Most cashier's forget to ask for your rewards phone number and I end up having to look up online the 1-800 number to call to add my purchase. This is a great inconvenience having to call to add my purchase. Some cashier's say your reward phone number is attached to your Kohl's Credit Card, which at times or at least for some people IT'S NOT ATTACHED. Just make sure you tell them to add your phone number to make sure and to save yourself from going through all that trouble. read more

Poor shopping experience. I bought a holiday sweater and a couple of other items. I live an hour away. When I got home I changed clothes to dash out for the holiday party to find the security sensor still on the sweater. I was unable to wear the sweater to the party. What a disappointment. read more

HORRIBLE exchange policy! My daughter received a $99 purse as a graduation gift and she could NOT exchange it for something she liked of equal or lesser value. Now she has to ask the gift giver if she kept her receipt. (Not a fun thing to do). If she threw the receipt away, then my daughter is just stuck with a gift she won't use. WORST POLICY OF ANY STORE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! I WILL NEVER SHOP AT KHOL'S!! In reply to Khols reply to me on Yelp, I know what your policy is. I spoke to your main office. If she doesn't like the purse, she won't want a "different color" (give me a BREAK!) AND, they told me that she needed a RECIEPT for a "return". Your link to Khols policy says exactly the same thing, so don't act like I am not understanding Khols policy. It's a ridiculous policy and now my daughter is stuck with your purse that she won't use. She couldn't FIND anything else by that purse brand that is "exactly" $99 that she liked better. (That's right, folks. I bought a pair of cute Nike sneakers earlier last week because the price on the little shoe marker showed $49.99, I thought score! You never find Nike's these affordable! After checking out with the shoes and a few other items I got home and realized they charged me $79.99 for the shoes. I went in a couple of days later, found the display shoe with the same $49.99 tag still attached to it and went to customer service to get the price on my card adjusted. I don't know where to begin with the attitude I received from who I assume was a manager. She checked the tag on the shoe and told me it was a tag from a pair of men's shoes that had been discontinued "months ago" and she wouldn't give me the credit back onto my account. I'm sorry but maybe if you hired a couple of people to clean up the shit-show you call a shoe department maybe mistakes like this wouldn't happen on your guys' end. I tried explaining to her that was unfortunate but that was considered false advertisement and the customer should be given the price that was shown on the shoe. Her words to me were "Nike's are never this cheap I just can't give them to you for $50 I would lose my job." Just a little bit dramatic there hunny. After trying to talk to her I was fed up with being cut off mid-sentence any time I tried to speak so I just left. My wife brought in a pots and pans set to return for store credit without a receipt. They told her they had to mail her a corporate return because she had returned too much stuff without a receipt but if her husband (me) came back I could get store credit since I had never returned anything. I came back and they told me I had to do a corporate return because it was over $200. Wasting our time people! read more

I love the Chico Kohls because of their superior service. I had some Levi's jeans that had gotten damaged and was able to return them at the customer service counter, no questions asked, and get new identical pairs of jeans. The men's section has great selection of suits. I would stay away from the Tony Hawk and Zoo York attire in the Young Men's section because most of the things fall apart. Also, Apartment 9 is cheap quality as well...all items (with the exception of ties), that are Apartment 9, I've had to return after minimal wear. I only shop when they offer Kohl's cash and I have a 20 or 30% off coupon, as many items in the store are marked up to appear more valuable than they are. Thus far, the only "offish" experience I've had at this store is one of the employees, Becky, questioning why I was returning something when their store recording says, "No questions asked returns!" but it was more of an accusatory questioning, as if I was trying to pull one over on the store. Chill out, chill! Anyway, enjoy Chico Kohls, their customer service is superior to the other stores within the chain. read more

Told by the store manager that they can't accept Kohls Cash that I rec'd by making online purchases - The reason she gave was because the Kohls Cash can be copied and re-used. I pointed out to her that the Kohls Cash has a bar code and a number on it that would show if it had already been used. Her response: You can use it online. Very disappointed in Kohls. This is my favorite clothing store in Chico. The employees are friendly and helpful. Besides a very good selection in store you can order from their kiosk and get free shipping (in case they don't have your size or favorite color in stock in a particular item). The Kohls card sends additional offers by mail but there are sales going on all the time. You can get a good value and they are wonderful about returns, if someone in your family asks you to shop for them but is a little picky. read more
