The manager, Rod messed up a refund, then when I went to the store to return my rental he wouldn't come out to help me, made me wait 5 mins then came out and pretended I didn't exist. When I told him what was going on (didnt refund the correct amount and charged me for items I didn't need). He became upset, raised his voice, cursed, refused to help me, told me to call customer service but then wouldn't give me the number, i kept repeating to just do my refund so i can leave. He laughed at me then called 911 and exaggerated the entire situation to try and get me arrested. Luckily for me I recorded the entire interaction. I'm going to request a copy of the 911 call, the police body cams and I'm going to send that all to their corporate office with my video. I have never been treated so poorly. This review is for Tracy Killian who went above and beyond in helping me set up the suit reservations for my wedding. I had gone to the Redding store and felt as if we received subpar service and my questions hadn't been answered. Upon sitting down with Tracy, he immediately noticed things that were wrong with the way the Redding store had set up my reservation. Even though we didn't have an appointment, Tracy sat down with us and redid the order, spent the time to ask me what particular items I wanted, found a better matching vest, and even found a way to save us money on the order. Both employees working (very young) did not know what an Oxford collar was. Nobody asked if I needed help when I came in. The woman I asked first didn't even look me in the eyes when I asked her, and instead seemed put upon and sarcastically turned to her partner and asked if him if he knew what that was, as if I wasn't there. Staff obviously hasn't been trained in basic sales manners or base-level knowledge of mens clothing. I figure management thinks "kids don't want to work these days" but they don't properly train or treat their employees with respect, because these two obviously did not want to be there. read more

Went in for the complimentary measurements the that Men's Warehouse is known for today on July 14th around 12:15. Gentleman, with the shiny curly hair asked if I needed help, told him I am part of a wedding party and the groom is going in for a consultation in Sacramento, since he is still deciding between a local shop and Men's warehouse and he wants to have our measurements ready for when he makes his decisions. The gentleman looked me up and down and said "That's working backwards" in a very unprofessional way with a bit of side eye. Very bad customer service, clearly he just didn't want to do his job, take my measurements and provide the customer service Men's Warehouse is suppose to be known for. Groom is now going with local shop instead of here since they also treated other one of our groomsmen's, pretty terribly. read more

Went in to purchase a tuxedo. Isn't that what this store does? Suits for men? Looked around a bit. Couldn't really find the tuxedos. Waited near the cashier helping the one customer. Pretty sure he said hello at some point. No one else did. Waited, tried to help myself, but I don't know how to sew, alter, or tailor. I guess that isn't really the point. The point is that I left the store because no one seemed to actually want to help or even say "we will be right with you". In fact, I was pretty much ignored. I stood around looking very uncomfortable. What are your employees paid for? Based on other reviews, I see this happens frequently, which may be a good thing because other reviews still state you aren't very good at sizing and delivering suits that actually fit. Was the run-on sentence? If I was Men's Warehouse corporate, I would be embarrassed. I have shopped at other Men's Warehouses many times, and I am embarrassed for you, Chico store. My best friend used this Men's Wearhouse store for the men's suits for her wedding. This store got the wrong vests for the 5 grooms men and the wrong shirt for her son. We went in (two days before her wedding) They were able to get the correct vests and shirt in 24 hours. The day before her wedding the bride man went to pick up his suit one of the arms was 1.5 in shorter then the other and his jacket doesn't fit. They had to order a new jacket. (Picking it up morning of the wedding) they made the correct adjustments the bride man is getting dressed for pictures and there is no pants in the suit bag. He had to drive 30 minutes to the store to get his pants They forgot to put in the bag. I'm just saying DO NOT TRUST THIS STORE!!!! Go to a different location it is not worth the stress. After having a bad experience with an employee during our first visit for fittings for tuxedo rentals, we had the pleasure of working with Nathan, one of the managers. He corrected all the errors that were made and he took the time to get my fiancé what looked best on him. He knew what he was doing, he was professional and sincere in his apologies regarding our first experience. He made sure that when the tuxedo measurements needed to be re done that a manger would be there to take care of us so we got the best care. Sunday I started my journey for the purchase of a tuxedo. While in this process I walked through the door and noticed there were hand full Of people that were waiting on tuxedo rentals , during this process multiple people started getting frustrated with the staff due to that fact that they were playing on their phones and seemed to be playing around with one another . I bought a custom suit from here. When It arrived it fit horribly. It was tight across my back and sides. I took it back and asked them to adjust it so it fit better. I was told this is how suits fit and they could do nothing. I tried to make the suit work and finally gave it away. DO NOT GET CUSTOM SUIT!!!! Had to go in to get fitted and pick out a suit for my wedding day, Saturday. Only reason I will give them a 4 is the cost of renting the suit did seem fairly high, but for me it was worth it because of the service provided. Tracy helped me the entire time and gave me recommendations for what would look good on wedding day. He was very vigilant in letting me know if there were any changes or anything that needed to be updated. He was excellent about reaching out when there was any miscommunication. With my busy schedule it was hard to come in at specific times, every single time I came in he and I believe Jordan were more than accommodating. Had to update my previous review and make a point to say how grateful I am to have worked with Brad, the store manager, and how positive an experience it ended up being. I called customer service with my bridal party issue and the customer service guy called the local store in an attempt to remedy the previously detailed horrible experience. I was told to go into the store and speak with Brad, and all would be right in the world. So, I did. And boy, am I glad I did. Brad not only remedied the entire situation, providing each of my groomsmen the perfect suits, he also absorbed ALL of the alterations fees for each guy in the wedding party, and personally fitted each one of them himself, with the assistance of his awesome alterations/Tux Manager lady, Laurie/Lori/So-Sorry-I'm-Horrible-With-Names D: She was super sweet, and obviously genuinely cared about the whole mess. Additionally, Brad spent over 45 minutes with me in the store, today, assisting me in picking out cuff links, ties, and pocket squares. This trip included him modeling a variety of accessories, to show in comparison to his suit, so I could make sure I liked the look, personally folding, and pinning pocket squares for me to see, and discounting every item I purchased, some more than 50% off. Brad was 100% professional, 110% apologetic, 1000% pleasant, and generally a fun gent with whom to work. And it sounds really silly, but he had a truly honest smile the entire interaction, and that was so valuable to me, I didn't even realize how much just being a nice person meant, but it made ALL the difference! After my most recent experiences, I can definitely say I take back my upset with the Men's Wearhouse chain, and would recommend going back to shop there. I'm thinking the first experience was just a case of one bad apple spoiling the bunch, for my first impression. And, though I'm still not a fan of Tyler's, he was wise to remain at a distance throughout the entirety of both of my return trips to the store, and I didn't have to deal with him once. Went in there yesterday at 3:30pm and told them I needed a tuxedo.... by 5:00pm the same day. They all looked at me and said we've got this and 2-3 people all jumped into play to help get me taken care of. They went to let their on site seamstress know that they had a rush job and she confirmed she would get it handled. Well then the coats and pants started flying until we got just right combination. Once I was fitted and marked up they sent the tux in the back to get all tailored up while they showed me all of my options for the accessories. I really appreciate them all going out of their way to make a process that usually takes a lot longer and has a much greater lead time and getting it all knocked out. I was in and out of there in 30 minutes and swung back by at 5:00 to find my tux perfectly pressed and it fit amazing. To the reviewers comment about not being helped based on the way he looked, I went in there wearing Chuck Taylors and a snap back hat and was treated like a boss. Luckily for me I am a boss and that's how I carry myself but none the less they were welcoming and helpful from the second I arrived to the second I left. I never ever shopped at a Men's Wearhouse... but I stopped by last night looking for a bow tie and there was only one employee working. The store looked pretty busy, but I was greeted at the door. I know he had folks waiting (sitting down), but he showed me the ties, I got one, he answered a call while I was paying and was very apologetic that I didn't get his full attention. I was in and out within 5 minutes and although I only purchased a $20 bow tie, I left feeling like I bought $1000 worth of clothes. BRAVO! read more

Groomsman came to pick up his tux and the jacket and shirt were covered in vomit. The workers didn't even check it or clean it. The guy asked if we wanted it to be streamed out? UH YES. The stain couldn't be taken out. They had no spare jacket. They had to order another one. (The wedding was the very next day.) The tux would barely be ready two hours before the wedding. We get to the wedding and the top button fell off the replacement jacket. I am disgusted. This makes me feel like if anyone were to return a suit that "looks clean" I'm getting the vibe that they probably don't clean the suits if they look clean. That is my assumptions from this experience because this tux was covered in vomit. How did they not notice this?! We were charged the regular price for the rental. Nothing got taken off for the inconvenience. The customer service was not on point. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at the personal attention my grandson and I received in a store chain. My grandson wanted to walk his mother down the aisle in his grandpa's suit. Nate helped us find a pair of dress slacks that was a close match to an older suit jacket that belonged to my late husband. Nate found a pair that matched and fit in my budget. We were even able to get the suit sleeves altered even though my husband purchased his suit there ten years ago. Thank you Nate! And when we paid the other Nathan, he had a fun conversation with my grandson about computer gaming making my grandson feel very comfortable being in a formal wear store. The worst customer experience I have had at ANY business I have ever visited. Was never greeted by any associate, including the one directly in front of me. Waited patiently only to be told to wait again in another area. Watched approx. 5 guests walk in after me and be immediately helped. I Wasn't hiding, I was standing right there. Then finally when given a fitting room, I changed, came out and there was no associate available for any fitment checks. I proceeded to bag my own clothes until an ASSociate finally came. I would never recommend this location. Tuxedo was great and the woman who did my order and measurements was great, but the pick up experience ruined the entire experience with men's warehouse. You can recognize him because he is the best dressed guy in the place. ;) (that was for him if he reads this) He gave me straightforward advice based on my verbal responses, and my non verbal responses, and made me feel completely comfortable with him, his advice, and the value of the products he showed. After a screw-up by AA Alterations in Chico left me looking for a suit on Saturday for an interview on Monday, Men's Wearhouse saved the day! Employees are extremely professional, even when you're young and horrified when you see how much a quality suit costs. They were able to sell me a nice suit and have it altered in 24 hours! It fits well and I literally do like the way I look. All this and I barely broke $300. I will definitely use these guys again for my clothing needs and any alterations. read more

Guess I had the same experience as another user. I came in on a Sunday with a t-shirt and jeans on with the intention of purchasing a suit. I was in the store twenty minutes and no one came and asked if I needed anything. I even went by the register and not even any eye contact. Seems like people are snobby here for no reason. My fiancé and I came in to fit him for our wedding and were given one of the most ill-fitting suits he has ever tried on. Even after having his measurements taken, he had to hold up his pants to keep them from falling down! They were at leat 3 or 4 sizes too big! Drastic alterations were mentioned but a smaller size was not offered. Also, they did not have his shoe size in the back so they brought out shoes 3 sizes too big (perfect for his clown suit!). He should have been put in a better-fitting, differently-cut suit. The employees were friendly but it seemed like they were clueless in the fit department. We ended up buying the whole suit plus shoes at Formal Education in downtown Chico (HIGHLY recommend them!) read more

When we first went into order we were unable to make any appointment as no one here answers the phone and the recorded message states that you can leave a message but likely no one will return the call as the messages are not monitored. So we went in, please keep in mind that this is two towns away from us to get to and not close by. Upon entry we were told we had to make an appointment and should have called to which I advised the above and we were told that they guessed we could be worked in (even though there was only one other person shopping in the store and several employees available). If that was the only issue I would have been fine. Upon picking up the rental we decided to have my now husband try it on and the pants were 4 inches short, without exaggeration, which is appalling, we then waited to have them re-marked for adjustment and watched as several people were served before us who entered after and did not have appointments but were eventually marked for correction. Again, I could let this go as there was time for the alterations still. I went down to pick it up a few days prior to the wedding, with out my husband this time because he was not available and brought the tux home and loaded it for transportation to the venue (an hour from the closest Men's Warehouse). Wedding day arrives and we are getting ready, a sunset wedding for perfect pictures.. low and behold NO PANTS ARE IN THE BAG. My brother in law had to race to the store to get the pants that were floating around somewhere that nobody put back in a bag. Leave it to say I got no wedding pictures. For a day that was to be my one day that I wanted to pass down memories of to my kids and future generations there is proof that it ever happened because of the laziness, selfishness and unprofessionalism demonstrated by the staff you employ. If there were ever another event, though the next closest place is more than two hours away, I would go ANYWHERE else than here. How dare you all, you should be ashamed. read more

I would never recommend this place to anyone. Had an awful experience in the Chico mall location. Inexperienced staff member that attempted to help us in the busiest season (proms and weddings). The sales associate brought out two different types of pants per our request, however, in the $99 version he brought out a size 37" waist and a 34" slim fit in the $199 version. I didn't realize this until my son took them off and I saw the tag. I later asked if they could bring the correct size and he brought back the same pants with a different hanger that had size 34 on it. My advice is watch closely and don't get taken. read more

I was getting married and went to Men's Wearhouse for my tuxedo. The service was inconsistent and the suit didn't fit me. In the end they charged me a $20 late fee because I didn't interrupt my honeymoon to bring my tux back the day after the wedding. The first day I came to Men's Wearhouse the man handling our wedding rentals did not offer any help in picking out a style. I would later find that there were samples to look at and certain pieces to try on, but this man mentioned none of it. He simply acted impatiently while I tried to make tough decisions based on pictures from a catalogue. He also made some unprofessional comments about marriage, and about his wife being "his ball and chain" that offended my wife. I came back later to change my order after looking online without any pressure. The woman who handled that order was much more understanding and helpful, and focused on helping me. I was so relieved! She deserves an award. At this point I found that instead of the copper color we ordered, the groomsmen were given a gray vest and tie. Thankfully it was an easy fix, but it was a sign of what was to come. Weeks later, when I went to try on the tuxedo, I found that dispite the extensive measurements taken, the suit didn't fit me at all. I have wide shoulders and a narrow waist. My shoulders fit perfectly but the coat and vest had no taper to them and they were baggy around my abdomen and waist. When I complained one of the workers told me condescendingly "formal wear is different" like I had no sense for what looks good on me. They said they only had sizes XS, S, M, L etc, and there was no way to make the tuxedo fit the way I wanted.They could have at least warned me of this when they took my measurements. And even if I wanted to change the order, they were going to charge me $20 for any late changes! And since they rushed me through trying on everything ("just button every other button"), I never tried on the tie or I would have noticed that it was the wrong color and didn't match my vest. Understand the tux doesn't arrive in Chico until maybe a week before the wedding so after trying it on I didn't have many options left to fix the problem. My wife was able to use some temporary stitches to taper the vest, but I had to buy my own coat at over $150 to get something that wouldn't look ridiculous next to my wife's perfect dress. Then right before the wedding I spent $30 on a tie that matched my vest. Now tonight I was charged a $20 late fee when returning my tux less that 48 hours after I was married. They need them back the day after the wedding, even though they give out tuxedos three or more days in advance of the wedding. They expect people to interrupt their wedding/honeymoon to return a tux. They didn't just fail to fulfill their company guarantee, they weren't even interested in whether or not I liked the way I looked. Further, they failed to provide the basic client-centered customer service that anyone would expect from any business. Men's Wearhouse had an entire wedding rental section and I expected them to be as wonderful as everyone else we encountered in the process of planning our wedding, but their service wasn't even average. read more
