They also have these cool display tables that have similar products grouped together. The "robot table" is a delight. Vintage Hen is also part of Little Red Hen, which I'm sure some of you have seen around town, so it's for a good cause. They also sell their stuff online through an Etsy store. This place has become one of my favorite downtown spots.

The staff is very knowledgeable about their stuff- both the product details of their goods, as well as the technical gemological information and its history. They're very welcoming about people dropping by to gawk at their beauties (a docent-led tour of their pretties, anyone?) as well as customers who are looking to purchase pretties for themselves or for others. The staff is patient about answering questions as well as generously providing technical information and history that they think will be of interest to their customers. They won't pressure you to buy. During my last visit, it so happened to be that they had a stunning aquamarine ring that I just had to get.. oops. (But not oops because even after a few days, I have zero buyer's remorse!) They have a flexible layaway plan for folks who may be tight on the budget. For jewelries that are of high value (likely $1000+) they provide appraisal. To resize a ring, they ask for a week's time and they charge exactly what their jeweler would charge them for resizing. Talk about a friendly and trustworthy store! I'd highly recommend folks swinging by downtown Chico to pay a visit to Country Squyres, whether it's for funsies or for a unique engagement ring shopping. p.s. They offer a trade for your clothes, you can bring in the clothes you're tired of, and they'll either give you a store credit or just pay you cash outright. Hint: You get more if you opt for the store credit, which I always do because I never leave without buying something, not kidding. They are super fair with the prices offered and the owner is soft spoken and kind (she's the person who goes through the clothes and gives you a price for payment or trade). They have a live DJ on Friday nights, perfect for getting your groove on while you shop! I am so happy I stumbled across this store, I found some one of a kind pieces that I love to wear. It's one of my little happy places for sure and definitely worth a check out if you're in the area.

I've been contemplating whether or not to post this review because of the love I have for this…read morethrift store...with that being said and regardless of all my years shopping and spending here, I think I will because I'm really bothered. I also downloaded the YELP app to share this. My experience there today was sour. I found a hand basket that was (tugging at my heartstrings (one with a style I've been looking for) among all the other baskets, but this one said not for sale (NFS). But I thought I'd ask, thinking they'd have absolutely NO PROBLEM selling it to me because it was probably donated and free to them. One of the ladies up front when I asked said "Oh no, it says NFS" We can't sell that to you but one woman was like "Oh, if it's with the other baskets I don't see why not"... she took it to the back and asked if it could be sold? She returned and told me they (whoever) said NO! Why would you deny anybody/anything that you get for free when it can be replaced and you'll get another something just like it to use as display?wouldn't you want to sell somebody something especially when they bring up to the counter and ask if it can be sold when you are a thrift store?? I'm sure you get TONS donations, many of which are baskets!! Super irritating and like I've already stated..sour!
