There are a lot of not vintage items just vintage-looking, and some really stained and damaged tops in the front section which are not marked down. The store is very very packed full of clothes as well (and it's already quite small) making it hard to navigate and sort through. I wouldn't pay the prices they are asking, but I would if they put more care into the clothes they're selling and cleaning up the place generally. I think they could make the store easier to navigate and worth the prices by reducing overall inventory by 15%, and removing the stained and damaged and not-vintage clothes from the regular section, and having a distinct clearance section for those items.

The staff is very knowledgeable about their stuff- both the product details of their goods, as well as the technical gemological information and its history. They're very welcoming about people dropping by to gawk at their beauties (a docent-led tour of their pretties, anyone?) as well as customers who are looking to purchase pretties for themselves or for others. The staff is patient about answering questions as well as generously providing technical information and history that they think will be of interest to their customers. They won't pressure you to buy. During my last visit, it so happened to be that they had a stunning aquamarine ring that I just had to get.. oops. (But not oops because even after a few days, I have zero buyer's remorse!) They have a flexible layaway plan for folks who may be tight on the budget. For jewelries that are of high value (likely $1000+) they provide appraisal. To resize a ring, they ask for a week's time and they charge exactly what their jeweler would charge them for resizing. Talk about a friendly and trustworthy store! I'd highly recommend folks swinging by downtown Chico to pay a visit to Country Squyres, whether it's for funsies or for a unique engagement ring shopping. p.s. They offer a trade for your clothes, you can bring in the clothes you're tired of, and they'll either give you a store credit or just pay you cash outright. Hint: You get more if you opt for the store credit, which I always do because I never leave without buying something, not kidding. They are super fair with the prices offered and the owner is soft spoken and kind (she's the person who goes through the clothes and gives you a price for payment or trade). They have a live DJ on Friday nights, perfect for getting your groove on while you shop! I am so happy I stumbled across this store, I found some one of a kind pieces that I love to wear.
