I drove here from out of town and I had about 10 minutes to shop, the lady came up to me three minutes in and said they closed the register early so I actually only had five minutes, so they close the register at 4:55pm not 5pm. I found it kind of rude. They should definitely put on the website that they close 4:50/4:55pm if they're not going let people shop until 5 PM. Overall, I had a negative experience. read more

I learned about Lulu's through my teenage daughter. Didn't you know? It's where EVERYBODY would get their homecoming dresses, amongst other things. I'm not tryna be some hip GenXer wannabe, I genuinely like the clothes here. I just happened to be the oldest customer in the store ha ha. This is where clothing and accessories (and some shoes) from Lulu's can be found at very low prices. Most of the items in the bins are $10 and the dresses are a bit more. I found a hooded sweatshirt for daughter and a knit wrap dress & summer hat for me. Everything was $10. There are dressing rooms at the back of the store so unlike the online store, you can actually try stuff on. There's something to be said about brick'n'mortar stores! Make sure to check the hours and days - they are open Fri - Sat. I also noticed they have a Senior Hour on Sunday from 10:00 - 11:00. I wonder if that's when they give out AARP discounts? I could have spent more time here but I was conscious of making the BF wait and wait...besides there is more to life than just shopping. Well, sometimes. read more

I ordered a dress online and was fortunate because I loved it and it fit me well. According to a few other reviews, they have not had the best results. I am usually an XS but read all of the reviews and learned that the dress ran small. For some reason the site would not honor my 20% off discount code. I called in, spoke to one of the reps and she found another code that I could use. It took a while to order by phone but was very happy once my dress arrived. I will most definitely order from them again in the future. I've been shopping at Lulu's ever since they had a brick and mortar in downtown Chico. I'm a loyal lulu's customer and when i see my SF friends get packages from lulu's I tell them it started in Chico! So, you can imagine how excited I was when I found out there's an outlet! I'm from Chico, but now live in San Francisco. Yes, I drive up to Chico specifically to shop at the outlet. It's the perfect place to get a dress/clothes for any occasion. I recently got married, and I got all my engagement photo outfits, bridal shower, bachelorette party, and rehearsal dinner dresses all from the outlet. It's definitely worth the drive because everything is $10 dollars! It's not even clothes that are out of season. You can find clothes that are currently online. I've gotten clothes from brands such as ASTR, J.O.A, Free people, billabong... oh and also, they have shoes!! The outlet is organized by size so you can go through bins and find things to try on. Every time I go in, it's clean, welcoming and just has great energy. The people that work there have all been extremely helpful especially Ashley.. she's the best!! Since I go in so much, she's knows my style and while i'm trying on my bags and bags of clothes she'll throw a piece under the curtain and say "I think you'll like this." I'm a little scared to post such a high score because this experience was completely amazing and I'm scared everyone will learn about this amazing spot. That being said, I drove to Chico from Fairfield to check it out with modest expectations. This is a true outlet store. None of these items are made for the outlet, unlike Nike and other well established outlets. These items are either modestly defective (I saw nothing alarming. Maybe a misplaced sequin or two) or are over stock items. Personally, I enjoyed the challenge of digging through the bins for my finds. Everything was well organized, and not a dress was in the wrong spot. I was also amazed at the quality of their selection. I was expecting far less to choose from, especially on a Sunday. Most importantly of all, the customer service in store was amazing. I felt welcomed, and one store associate actually matched me with an evening gown that is out of this world and an insanely cute Jumper. I wish I wasn't moving to Florida so that I could come back! read more

Outlet store downtown Chico should be called Lulu's Sewage Outlet. Clothing is wadded up in steel bins scattered throughout the store. The clothes and shoes are all returns or defects. After seeing my wife pick though this stuff for more than an hour, I was done. $15 or $20 should be more like five and dime for what they offer for damaged returns or seconds. Lots of foot traffic and tire kickers here, not much cash register action. Final word ......over priced, overrated imported cast offs. read more

A couple of months ago I stopped by to get a dress for my engagement photos. Chakeira and Darrian went above and beyond to get me what I wanted! They gave amazing suggestions, and even called me to let me know when my sizes were back in stock. I went back in yesterday and saw Chakeira again. She immediately recognized me from my last visit, and gave me the same 5-star treatment that I received before. The lulus outlet is by far my favorite store not only in Chico but literally all of the United States! The outlet allows any age person to dress like they own at least six figures and not like broke college students! The clothes range from delicate swimwear to warm winter peacocks! The brands they offer are top notch as well. They range from free people, amuse society, Steve Madden, Frankie's bikinis, Levi's and so many more. Not only does the outlet have an amazing clothes but the staff lead by Ashley is wonderful! I look forward to going to the outlet everyday before I go to work because the people that work there I now consider friends, not just people trying to take my money! I love this place! I honestly hate shopping but the people who work there are so nice and helpful! this is the only place I'll ever go to again in Chico. Everything they have is top quality, there might be a rip here and a missing stitch there but that's the whole point it's an outlet store! Even then it's never very noticeable and does not ruin anything if you ask me. The best part is I don't ever see anyone wearing the same clothes as me around town. Which I personally love. This place seems like a great idea! A bunch of clothes for just 5 dollars?!?! Thats right 5 dollars. Well there are a few catches. The clothes here are the unwanteds and overflows. Some may be tore and other have stains. Some just fine. How do you find those gems you ask? You have to search through bins of wadded up piles of clothes. You could spend hours looking through these bins but I was tired of it after 20 minutes. Next if you are bigger than a xs or s good luck! There are few M bins and even less L/XL bins. Oh yeah they are combined boxes. Not their own. They didnt even have L/XL shirt options. I did though find 1 piece of clothing. It was a struggle to find but I do love it. I just wont be back to search again. Not worth the pain again. There is also a shoe section. The flats are shoved in spots and not displayed and heels are piles on shelves. The whole store is just hard to navigate. read more

Every time I go to the Outlet with my daughter, everyone is so friendly and always have smiles on their faces! One day I honestly thought my daughter was buying everything in the store! As you can imagine, waiting for her to try on items took awhile. The girls saw how tired I was and offered me a chair! I was SO THANKFUL! All the Outlet workers are super helpful as well. Wow!! I just had the BEST experience at The Outlet! I made a trip from Sacramento just to shop here and, let me tell you, it was absolutely worth the trip! Ashley, Bianca, Lauren , Hannah, and Maya were incredibly helpful and provided exceptional customer service. I was concerned about going shopping solo, but Ashley and Bianca felt like friends giving me their honest input and pulled great options from the bins that I wouldn't have picked for myself but they worked out great! I left with so many clothes for such an affordable price! I was shopping for an engagement shoot and left with great options for the photo shoot and so many more staple items. If you are on the fence about whether or not it's worth the drive- DO IT. If you are wondering if it's worth the wait outside to get in- IT IS! I've seen this company grow from a shop downtown to the money maker it now is. I have also worked in a couple different areas of this company and been a customer. There are pros and cons to any business but working for this company is one of the worst experiences I ever had. Aside from the constant changes in policy (and them never letting staff know, not even a quick email) it was a barrage of micromanagement, always feeling like you are in the wrong and a lack of general awareness regarding the employee. I worked in both the warehouse and Customer Service and they both had ups and downs but Customer Service was by far the worst experience. Multiple "Shift Leads" lead by a head shift lead listen to your calls and chats constantly telling you how you should do things better, even when it was an inappropriate sexual encounter from a customer. Pretty much every day going to work was like being persecuted for one silly thing or another. Very rarely did they give positive feedback and it almost felt like we were set up to fail. Something would go wrong in the warehouse yet when you got to work there would be no notice until you are 4 customers in, each having the same issue and you have to "chat" your shift lead asking what was going on. They didn't allow any communication other than chatting in a group chat even when we had no calls.You have to be able to chat with up to 6 people at a time and very quickly resolve issues while being on the phones was a little more laid back but took more time. Expect to be told you are not handling enough customers even when you feel chatting with 5 or 6 people at once (all with very different needs) is not in line with the kind of customer service you are expected to give. Constantly being chastised for the tiniest thing was just part of the job. Working for the warehouse was a bit less stressful as long you as kept your head down and worked fast. Regarding the actual items; most Lulus brand items are pretty good but zippers tend not to be the most reliable as well as some stitching. Pretty much any other brand was very good quality though. This is a Juniors retailer so , from what I could tell, mainly the Lulus brand pants and shorts were very very small while their tops were a pretty normal size range. Dresses ran a little small (Juniors sizes) in Lulus brand but fit pretty standard in any other brand sold on the site. The shoes are all pretty cheap and last about a season (you get what you pay for there) and the jewelry was not well made. This business, as its been growing, has gone from employee aware to completely uncaring. Like I mentioned above, you will be micromanaged relentlessly and constantly told you are breaking some rule which was just imposed that week. I understand growing pains within a company but this was just blatant disregard and neglect. This goes for my experiences in both the warehouse and Customer Service. Regarding the customers, due to the issues with the Lulus brand clothing, they do refund or replace if the item comes with a hole, split seam, broken zipper (list goes on) once you show a picture. They also go out of their way to make customers happy even when it wasn't the companies fault (which is both positive and negative for them as a business). Long story even longer; miserable to work for (thats why they have such a high turn over rate) but the items themselves (most anyway) are well made. Stick to the alternate brands if you don't want to have to send something back due to a defect. read more

I had the most incredible customer service experience last night with LuLu's. Katelyn (not sure if that's spelled correctly) deserves to be recognized for her amazing ability to LISTEN to my concerns and be empowered [by her company] to make a decision to take care of the customers needs (ME)! I had placed an order on Monday for several dresses and expedited the shipping to 2-day...I have a wedding Friday and wanted the dresses to make it to me by at the latest Thursday. I didn't see any shipping status come through on my email, so I called on Tuesday to see about an ETA. Katelyn checked with the warehouse and I'm not sure of exactly what the issue was with fulfilling my order, but she said that everything I ordered would be shipped out that night and she was not only going to reimburse me for the 2 day shipping, but they were putting it on a 1-day shipping to get it to me in time for the wedding!!! She was attentive, concerned about my call, took ownership and was able to ship it to me even faster (and cheaper) than what I ever expected!!!
