Hate having to write this kind of review but it's unfortunately necessary. I'll start with the good. The pizza is very, very good. Love the thinner but crispy crust. Great wood fire flavor. Unfortunately the service is poor. The waitress we had last night had such a careless attitude as she moped around the establishment with zero sense of urgency. We seemed to wait forever for every step of dinner while, Multiple tables came and went. Restaurant was less than half crowded. I can deal with this if this was the only thing to go wrong, but unfortunately it wasn't. To make matters significantly worse, I've been dealing with lower gastric upset all night and into this morning. I have a sensitivity to certain cheeses so I ordered a No Boundaries pizza with plain dough. I asked for the squash, sausage, onion and goat cheese. It tasted absolutely fantastic, but found out overnight after scraping the toppings off that the first layer of topping was shredded cheese. How does this even happen. Plain Dough doesn't sound like Jays Heart or Cheese and Herb. Can't fathom how something like this can even happen other than careless service. Super disappointing and massively frustrating to deal with overnight and this morning. Could easily be 4 or 5 stars if not for the negligence. read more

Original review was one star due to how chewy the pizza used to be years ago. Flatbread reached out and I tried again. Not sure if the recipes were changed but so far, this was the best pizza we've had in RI. The salad and chicken was also the best we've had. No exaggeration, all the food literally melted in your mouth, I literally didn't even have to chew the chicken! Both the pizza and salad were seasoned extremely well, tasted fresh, there was no overburdening flavor and felt like a professional chef made them. Everything was light and worked together. Staff were also super duper nice! I'm not sure if this was a one off from my previous experience, will update as needed. read more

Went there tonight for the first time! This place is deceptively large. The long hallway at the entrance is a little ominous, but it's warm inside! We had a 5:30 reservation but got there early. We were seated immediately as there were many times open, but there was a wait by the time they left. It seems like Flatbread knows what they do well and sticks to it! We would have loved to order an appetizer, but the menu was just flatbread, bread, and salad. However, I was impressed they had a non-alcoholic IPA that actually resembled an IPA, and the flatbread was delicious. This restaurant was definitely kid friendly. At 6 pm on a Friday half the people in the room were too young to drive. Service was mediocre. I would not mind going back again but don't envision this place making our regular rotation. read more

I really adore Flatbread for all that it offers in atmosphere, energy, and flatbreads! Our waiter John was a chiller and was super accommodating to our large table. Favorite pies include the Kalua Pork, Homemade Sausage (add goat cheese), and Jay's Heart (of course). The vibes are unpretentious and they give a ton of money back to the community through weekly fundraisers that support cool local orgs. read more

We really enjoyed ourselves. Parking in the area can be a bit of a pain but we had a great time here. The food was excellent- I had a pepperoni and sausage pizza. A few others also had different types of pizza. I don't think anyone has leftovers. It was that good. We had a very pleasant waitress and the food came out surprisingly fast. Service here was great! Flatbread came out quick and salad was tasty. Lots of beer choices and they had super safe GLUTEN FREE pizzas and salads. It made my wife, who has celiac disease, feel really safe. The crust was prepared and cooked on an aluminum pan to avoid cross contamination and the toppings were so varied that it did not get boring. I only come here when my school pays for it, lol. This has given me the opportunity to try many of the pizza flavors. Being a simple creature, I enjoy pretty basic pizzas: -the cheese one with garlic and herbs -the pepperoni one -the one with chicken, barbecue sauce, purple onions, and pineapple (i was never a fan of pineapple on pizza, but that is in my past). So many pizzas have mushrooms. So many. It's a bit of a nightmare for me, but could be a slice of heaven for you. The brownie sundae with salted caramel or vanilla ice cream... exquisite! This place is great! Has such a nice country atmosphere and is filled with the aroma of fresh pizza and wood burners. When we went, there was a group of kids holding a raffle to raise money for their school. It's a great, family-friendly restaurant. They have tons of options on their menu, but just be prepared because they don't have appetizers, mainly just variations of pizza and flatbreads. If you're vegan, you're in luck! You can make your own flatbread (they call it a "freeform flatbread") with any toppings you want. They have TONS of veggie options! They also have vegan cheese so you won't have to worry if you have any dietary restrictions. Their specials sounded delicious - I would have definitely tried them if they were dairy-free! We were hungry and wanted something simple but satisfying. This was exactly what we needed to hold us over until dinner. The pizza here is delicious! I was shocked actually. The small with half pepperoni was the perfect size to split between the 2 of us. The pizzas are thin, but quite big and everyone around us seemed to have a lot of leftovers. All the pizzas are fresh and made to order. The crust was super thin, yet the center did not get soggy! PHEW! Sauce, cheese, seasoning, everything was perfect! Also, the wood fire ovens are right in the same space as the seating which was cool to watch. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area. The place is really big and seems like they can accommodate large groups. I'm sure college students are here all the time during the year. Solid pizza and reasonably priced. Flatbread is a college hill classic!! I have been going to Flatbread for years and even went to a New Hampshire location years ago. Flatbread is the ultimate space for gathering with friends but my family has been loving takeout over quarantine. They often have delicious specials but you cannot go wrong with the classic Jay's Heart flatbread. With cheese and marinara plus an herb oil, it's classically delicious. As a vegan, I go for their vegan flatbread which has caramelized onions and mushrooms. I usually add sundried tomatoes, pineapple, or olives for some variety. These additions can get a bit pricey so it'd be really cool if Flatbread could add another vegan pizza option! Do yourself a favor and grab takeout from Flatbread and be sure to dine in when it's safe to do so!! read more

What happened to this place?? Pizza was actually BAD. The crust was flat and tough and the toppings were unbelievably sparse.

Went here at about 8:30 Saturday night, no wait for a table. Server was friendly and attentive. The menu only consists of salad and pizza, so no apps or garlic bread. We decided against all the speciality pies and got the cheese and sauce pie with pepperoni. It was pretty good, large enough for two people to split, lots of pepperoni! The atmosphere was really cool and they had a good drink selection. The kitchen is open and there are two huge fire ovens and the bar was nice and long and not cramped. I loved the atmosphere but where we sat wasn't nice and I had the view of the garbages and all the food scraps and dirty dishes and gross stuff. They should put a door or wall in front of that, there were big buckets of watery yuck and dirty rags. Sitting elsewhere would have changed the atmosphere vibe for me for the better. read more

My first choice in the area. Outstanding wood fired pizza baked in a giant clay oven. The large pizza feeds 2-3 people, as the crust is very thin and the sauce is quite appetizing. We couldn't stop eating! The brownie sundae is the most remarkable i've had, too. The brownie was chocolatey rich but not too sweet, the ice cream fresh and light, and the chocolate sauce tasted homemade--not like the processed-with-cheap-ingredients kind you find in grocery stores. High quality ingredients, great service. The small parking lot is a tight squeeze, so you might have to find street parking. We had to back out to exit as there was no room for a 3-point turn. read more

More of a preliminary review as we didn't have space to sample the flatbreads, but this was a top notch spot for some craft brews in a spacious, laid back atmosphere. My wife and I stopped by with our friend for an afternoon drink and we couldn't have been happier. Our server knew his beers very well and provided an excellent recommendation on a hazy IPA. Had a great experience ordering delivery from here! Delivery was super efficient and fast. We ordered the Jay's heart flatbread with pepperoni and the homemade sausage flatbread without mushrooms. The Jay's heart flatbread was delicious but I didn't love the flavor combination in the homemade sausage flatbread. I think it's a tad pricey for the size of the pizzas but given the overall quality I would definitely order from here again. read more

A great take on flatbreads A chill vibe at each location A unique profile for each one When we got word that Flatbread Company was coming to Providence, my family and I darn near flipped our wigs. We had been staunch advocates of the Portsmouth and Portland locations, and for a family that usually thrives on trying as many new places as possible, it was one of those restaurants we craved multiple times. And then we heard FBCo was coming to L'il Rhody. Hot diggity. We kept an eye on their Facebook page, monitoring construction, and looking for an opening date. Finally, it arrived. In short, we all love it. The food consists of quality ingredients and great flavors. The service is friendly. Getting a seat isn't overly burdensome, thanks to the large layout, and waiting is pleasant back by the books behind the bar, as well. Outdoor seating is clearly a bonus in pleasant weather, and near the ovens is a separate kind of perk, also. The local tap beer offering echoes a strength of other locations, and is nicely representative here (stretching into nearby MA/CT offerings in addition to RI, sometimes). Kids love coloring their own submissions for menu covers and gobbling up delicious pizza. And so do us adults! A solid offering - glad PVD is on the Flatbread Company map. read more

Some of the best pizza around. It's a 30 minute ride from my house and it's well worth the trip. The regular cheese pizza is so tasty. Has a unique and fresh taste that I struggle to find elsewhere. Also very reasonably priced. You can tell they use fresh ingredients in every bite. Only reason it's not 5 stars is the staff is a little inconsistent. But overall pretty good. Highly recommend if you're craving pizza and want to feel good after eating it. They also have a bunch of different toppings and specialty pizzas. And I've tried a bunch of them and every single one of them has been delicious. Salads are also fresh and delicious. They market themselves as a restaurant that uses fresh and organic ingredients.
