5 Stars for what may be my favorite specialty pizza ever. Pro-tip: order the G.O.A.T. Pizza. We had a hankering for pizza and Francesco's absolutely hit the spot. Their pizza is NY style thin crust (YUM) and though you can order a typical Margherita pizza, I highly suggest looking through the specialty pizza options. We got the G.O.A.T. Pizza which comes with mozzarella cheese, goat cheese, caramelized onions, herbs, and hot honey drizzle. It's even better than it sounds. This was the perfect combo of garlicky savory cheese and sweet honey with the tiniest kick. I could have eaten the entire large pizza on my own. I'm in RI for one more week and trust that I will order this again. I also got the 10 piece order of wings with BBQ sauce and was so pleasantly surprised to see it came on top of caramelized onions! It was there in the description, but I missed it. They were so good I was picking them out by hand and enjoying them. The wings were thick and full of meat. This was my second time at Francesco's Pizzeria and was looking forward to eating their pizza. The first time I went was for a slice and it was light, crispy, fresh...just delicious. Unfortunately, I was very dissapointed in the large Margherita pie I ordered this time around. The dough was brittle, the cheese didn't taste all that fresh and the rest of the ingredients (sauce and spices) were just OK. It's always dissapointing when a restaurant lacks consistency and leaves you wondering what happened? Is it the cook at certain shifts, carelessness, different quality products? I don't know, but this place may be worth a try if they could output the product I had during my first visit. The pizza was dissapointing, but the wings were good. It tasted fresh, very crispy and hit the spot. The wings definitely saved the overall meal which is why I gave them a 3 overall, but the pizza was like a 2. The other stuff - I called in and was put on a long hold. The employee I spoke to was a apologetic about the wait and was overall pleasant. I ordered a Margherita pizza based on photos I saw online. I added pepperoni to half of it. I will say it's a pretty good pizza. Thin crust, good red sauce, fresh ingredients. I appreciate that it was not sloppy. It is definitely one of the better pizza places I have tried locally. Now I did order delivery so the unfortunate part was it wasn't hot or even warm. But with that being said could have been the driver. I would def order from. Here again as far as pizza goes. read more

Francesco's Pizzeria was a stop for the 6th Annual Search for the Best Scoop Shop RI with RI Food Fights. When we saw this stop, we were very excited that a pizzeria was also serving ice cream. There were a few flavors to select. I chose a scoop of the tiramisu gelato. It was very refreshing and light. Since we walked in, the pizza smelled so good and purchased 2 slices. They have earned awards such as the most instagrammable pizza, most delicious pizza, and most creative pizza. I saw they have a General Tso's pizza which has General Tso Chicken, Roasted Red Peppers, Scallions. Thought that was unique. I had their Classic Pepperoni-Red Pizza, Pepperoni and my husband ordered a slide of the Buffalo Chicken-Shredded Buffalo Chicken, Scallions, Mozzarella. The crust was crunchy and crisp and it wasn't too saucy. This was delicious. There is street parking available. In front of the pizzeria there are a few seats with a middle stand for sharing. These were so cool and efficient. Service was great. It was just 1 woman managing the phones, customers inside, and managing the orders. Providence is a veritable theme park if you're into world class Italian so... it is a little disconcerting to be confronted with a General Tso's pizza. I guess we're just in the throes of feeling we can throw anything together on some lump of dough and give it a Paisan fist bump for authenticity. A little too random for my taste but when you can buy a Twinkie Smoothie six pack at Walmart all bets are off when it comes to culinary DNA. Anyway, I liked the pizza despite it's confused pedigree. This place is terrible. I went here based on great reviews from critics and Barstool.. what a mistake. The pizza was undercooked and the extra toppings added was minimal.. we're talking a large pepperoni pizza with 6 pepperoni. That's just cheap/lazy and irritating. The real negative here was the woman working the register on Saturday 4/27 at 4:30. Major attitude for no reason and told me to hurry up and pay so she could take her break. Are you serious? A let down... Went here from the Portnoy review and felt like they didn't give us the same pizza as him. Ordered one cheese and one pepperoni pizza. The sauce was the main let down... didn't taste any different then something I could buy from the market. Well they got me in the joint so kudos to them but I don't think I'll be making the 45 minute trip back. read more

I've been to Francesco's for pizza twice with about a year in between. I think they're working on improving their pizza. Recently I went here for the Rhode Island food fights ice cream month and got a scoop of salted caramel gelato. It's very reasonably priced, and quite good. They had more flavors to choose from than I'd expect for a place more focused on pizza. Overall, I'd probably go again for gelato, and I'd consider the deal they advertised for adding a piece of pizza to an ice cream purchase for only 99 cents. The shop is small, but there is some seating outside. More of a pick up and go place. Street parking here is also generally pretty easy. read more

If you came here thinking about getting the General Tso's Pizza... DO IT This was hands down one of the best pizzas me and my girl have had in a while. We ordered about 30 minutes before closing and it was one of the best decisions we made. No flop on the pie, beautiful under carriage and the toppings were solid. Not normally a fan of a white pizza but the general tso's sauce took this pie to the next level. Will we order again? Absolutely. Taco salad - 2 stars They need to do a better job at chopping up the iceberg lettuce; too many big pieces. They literally put maybe l1 of 2 crumbled up tortilla chips and they tasted stale. I tried this place when they first opened 3 years ago and was very impressed but turned off by the super long wait. After watching the Dave Portnoy review and trying again, all I have to say is Wow! Nice crispy crust, perfect amount of grease, and a little floppy NY style. Folding it in half is the way to do it. I had the Brown U special - pepperoni/ricotta//hot honey. Blew me away. My 4 and 9 year old were equally impressed with their cheese and pepperoni slices. Next time I'm going to try a General Tso slice. Highly recommended! read more

We wanted to pick up some apps to eat while we were watching the game on Sunday, and were in the area so we stopped in to order something to go and ate a ready made slice from the case while we were waiting. This location is to go/takeout only - which was perfect for us. While we were waiting, we saw several Uber eats pickups happen, which means that other people had the same idea too. I had the General Tso's slice - which was both sweet and savory and my kids a pepperoni and cheese slice. The pizza is a thin crust and there was a good amount of toppings on them. The wings were well seasoned and juicy and the mozzarella sticks were crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside - just how we like them! While this spot isn't our usual neighborhood pizza place, it was very good and we were happy to have had the chance to try them out today. read more

I ordered wings and a sandwich from them a few months ago. I waited an hour and a half for the order. The staff never apologized for the wait or made any assurances while I waited there that the food would be ready soon. Anytime I would ask if my order would be ready soon, I was told the location was new (which at the time it was a new location) and they had a lot of orders. Which okay, fair point but that was still not a reason to make me wait that long for wings and a sandwich. When I finally got the wings and ate them at home the wings were not very good at all. Though the sandwich was good. I have not gone there since after that. I am writing this now because I still get annoyed when I drive by the place. read more

This review is based on an Uber Eats delivery. I didn't dine in. Just moved to Riverside and was looking for a good turn to pizza place. I'd say this one is a winner. Was poking around on Uber eats and noticed this place had a deal at the moment; BOGO free of their 3 cheese pizza. Went for it and added meatball to both cheese pizzas. We also ordered a BBQ chicken pizza. I take off one star because the crust on the BBQ pizza was pretty 'meh'. The flavor was delicious though. I'm a woman who likes a good pizza crust and both 3 cheese pizzas were perfecto. Tasty meatballs, plenty of cheese, a rich sauce and soft crust with light crunch on the outside. The girl who took my order had a snarky attitude as if she has it under control but proceeded to forget about my slices in the oven resulting in her having to replace the pizza. Once I finished I asked her to discard my pizza box and she responded as if she was too good to do her job.
