I popped by this restaurant between school visits with some coworkers. I got a 9 wings with fries - the wings were crispy and well seasoned! I love that they serve real, full sized wings and not the party wings that are real wings cut up & marketed as 2 little wings smh The fries were good too. The staff were very friendly. This Place is FIRE, I think i have been to one of their other locations in Providence. ANyways, we stopped here for some chicken, and i was impressed with their friend chicken and wings. Possibly one of the best chicken places around. I've been coming here for years and could only name a couple times when I've been disappointed. Here is why this chicken/food is so good. 1. Their chicken pieces aren't massive so they are always cooked thoroughly. Nothing is worse than biting into chicken with bloody bones. 2. The breading is always very crispy and their chicken taste fresh 98% of the time. Every time I've gone the food has been nice and hot. 3. Their prices are very reasonable. I got a 9 piece chicken wing box with fries for $10. 4. The seasoning they use is very addicting. 5. The fries are BOMB. Very solid Fried Chicken. I picked up 2 breasts (they were on the small side) and they were juicy. The chicken was well cooked, fried great. I was amazed at the cost for each piece, less than $2. I also got the fries. They were smallish Fries, well cooked and had a good seasoning on them. I got the medium and it came in the same size box as the chicken. My wife got the nuggets (think McNugget) which came with fries and a couple of rolls. She liked them, I would pass on the nuggets and get the fried chicken. read more

First time I drove to Royal Fried Chicken, I wasn't sure I was gonna get out of the car. Let's just say I didn't "fit in" with the locals..but not to worry, the neighborhood improved significantly as I got closer. its just a block away from the famous Stanley Burgers and everything was cool once I pulled in..Also, theres plenty of parking near the door. The chicken is just fantastic. .cooked perfectly and just the right amount of spice...if I had to compare it to a chain, it would closely resemble Popeyes..with its touch of heat. So in a state that is famous for the Rhode Island Red, there is not a lot of fried chicken going on. One must naturally discount the KFC chains. First, what they lack in quality they more than make up for in price. Popeye's is probably the best 'chain' here by but they are few and far between and expensive as well. That brings us to Royal. They are not in the best place I guess, but they are only a few blocks from Stanley's Burger. The chicken was good and the prices were fantastic. They do great family packs that seem to fit just about any configuration you like. I would say I like the chicken here better than KFC, the prices are much better than either KFC or Popeye's and the sides are comparable. So bang for your buck, this is the place to go. read more

it feels a little strange to get friend chicken from a place that shares half of their store front with a makeshift grocery store, but the chicken here is awesome.
