I stopped by Stanley's late on a Saturday afternoon to place a to-go order. There were a couple tables finishing their meals and my order was taken pretty promptly at the cash register. I paid with cash which got me a 5% discount. I ordered a tomato burger and added cheese and lettuce to what comes on the burger (pickle and onion), I also got onion rings and a strawberry shake. There appeared to be a lot of pick up orders being made and while I waited everyone in the establishment finished their meals and left. When my burger was finally done nothing else had been started so my burger was getting cold while my shake and onion rings were being made, took about 4-5 minutes to get the rest of my order. When I got home I fixed up the burger because they put no condiments on this thing and I was disappointed because this smash burger wasn't even thick as two nickels.... Still I was pretty excited to taste this burger but first bite and something tasted foul. When I tasted each individual ingredient I discovered the onions to be rotten. I had ordered my burger to have raw onions instead of cooked but I can't imagine cooking these shaved onions would get that taste out. I picked off the onions as best I could but the taste had already permeated into my burger. So, onto the onion rings which were decent. The strawberry shake was ok but not a thick shake, they use a little more milk than I would like especially for the price of $5. I really wanted to like this place, and I always choose mom & pop places over chains but in this case, I'd say go down the street and get a biggie bag for $6, my $15 at Stanley's was a dismal disappointment.
Went to Stanley's last night and hadn't been there in years! The waitress was friendly, the classic tunes were playing in the retro inspired interior and most importantly the food was great! The highlight was the Quebec Fries smothered in brown gravy and cheese! The Stanley burgers were great as well! Highly recommend! 4.5 stars
The environment has certainly died down in the years but the food hasn't... I have a double cheeseburger with everything on it and home made strawberry lemonade and it was perfect.
I have eaten at Stanley's many, many times over the years and it has never disappointed. I do miss the tabletop juke boxes but, if anything, the food has gotten better. Everything tasted exceptionally fresh. The traditional Stanleyburger (yes, that's how it's listed on the menu) is a smash burger on a soft bun with grilled onions and pickles ($3.49). Delicious! A side of their perfectly browned hand cut fries is $3.99. Add a cup of brown gravy for dipping ($1.75). They also have shakes ($4.99) and, of course, coffee milk ($2.39/$3.39). You can have a satisfying, inexpensive meal in a cool, retro diner setting. I also had the pleasure of being taken care of by Deb, who's probably the sweetest server I've ever encountered. Her smile never left her face the entire time I was here. Although they are located on busy Dexter Street, they have a small parking lot next door. Looking forward to returning soon.
One of my Dad's favorite restaurants. It felt very fitting on his first birthday not on earth, that we would celebrate his memory at Stanley's. I have so many memories wrapped up in this Central Falls location. From staring at the old large juke box at the entrance preparing for how I would use my quarters as a kid all the way up to dinners on Halloween before trick or treating with my daughter. I will forever love Stanley's. Why should you love it? It's a greasy burger. They do carmelized onions. It has an old diner vibe inside with colorful locals. They have coffee milkshakes! A large plate of fries is shareable for 4 people! They have saloon doors to the bathroom. They now have beer. But I am sorry to inform you, those table juke boxes are now all gone. RIP chosen music. (Still want those? Head to Twins in North Providence) I have never had anything other than a cheeseburger, fries and shakes from Stanley's. I can't comment on anything else. It's also hard to describe to you a Stanley burger but my best way is: it tastes like my childhood.

Friendly service, cool diner atmosphere, burgers and fries that take me back to before McDonald's came to Rhode Island, The prices take me back too! Had a fabulous meal including a mushroom cheeseburger and Quebec fries (poutine). Absolutely yummy. The burgers are made to order with onions and pickles (recommend) but you can order your burger without. Small parking lot makes dining at Stanley's convenient. Next time you're traveling through CF, RI stop at Stanley's! Love!
Classic diner vibes with comfort food! If you are watching your calorie intake, this is probably not the meal for you. We came here to try the burgers, fries, and shakes and they all lived up to the hype! Adding bacon and extra toppings to a burger makes my meal complete. You will leave here full and ready for a nap! We sat at the counter and had fast service. There is limited parking in a small lot.
Typical diner food. Greasy burgers and fries. Inexpensive and hits the spot. Servers and cooks are always friendly. Parking is off street but can be tight. My son has a peanut/treenut allergy and dines here safely so that's always a plus. My one complaint is the cheese on the cheese fries. Someone tell me why it's so thin/watery? It tastes like disappointing. They really could work on stepping up that fry game.
A serendipitous discovery of this Central Falls treasure had me out in the stormy weather. The burgers are delish and it feels like a lovely time travel to sweet times when you step inside. The service is friendly and the playlist is fun. I recommend this iconic neighborhood eatery, big time. There is a parking lot next to the building and rumor has it, seasonal lobstah rolls arrive in March.
When one thinks of casual diner food and experience, look no further than Stanley's! Slinging burgers since 1932 Stanley's is a unique old school spin for diners. Very reasonable prices and a litnay of choices to quench your hunger! With house made lemonade on the menu I couldn't pass it up. When asking there are a few flavor options from blueberry, strawberry dragonfruit and a few more I don't remember. I went with dragonfruit and the lemonade was flavorful and perfect for me with not being too sweet nor tart. For starters I chose a chowder as it is a part of the Friday menu to choose from. They have both red and white and I chose the latter. It was smooth, cream full of a good mix of veggies and clams. For the main I went with bacon cheeseburger and I don't know just how to articulate how much of a comfort burger this is but boy oh boy it was a great diner style burger! The staff is very welcoming and friendly keeping the food and conversation flowing throughout the visit! Thank you for a great dining experience! There is both street parking or a small off street lot to utilize during your visit. Be it cash, card or Venmo there are plenty of ways to settle the bill. I'm participating in the 2nd Annual RI Food Fights Wiener Event and this was my fourth stop. I had been to Stanley's before so I knew what to expect - a classic diner experience with good food as a great price. I was especially convinced to go when I did because they had a deal going on for Central Falls restaurant week which was too good to pass up: 6 burgers with a small fry for $12. I took two friends with me to help me finish all the food. We added lettuce, cheese and mayo to the burgers for $1 each upcharge. We also ordered a homemade lemonade each. They have about eight flavors to choose from but we went with strawberry, pineapple, and passion fruit. The food came out quick. The patties were a little bland in color, but the flavor was there. I wish they had toasted the buns. We requested the fries to be made dirty which meant sprinkled herbs which I think helped with adding flavor. Their fries are on the thicker side which I am not the biggest fan of but they still tasted good. I ordered a chili dog but I sort of regretted it singe it was messy and I felt like there was too much going on. Our server was very kind and patient with as (we were asking for lots of requests). They have a parking lot which makes it so much easier to dine in. read more

I came here often when I was a kid, my grandparents would take us for a cheese burger, fries, and root beer float. I loved sitting at the counter and watching the cook make everything on the flat top griddle. I recently had the opportunity to come by with my kids and found myself ordering the same meal I had enjoyed with my grandparents many years ago. This place hasn't changed much in all that time and it was very nostalgic to be back. My kids and I enjoyed our cheeseburgers, fries, and drinks and look forward to returning read more

Four stars for such a cute diner vibe and wonderful staff! The dining area is small. Three 2-seater booths, a couple of larger booths and a few tables on one side and the lunch counter overlooking the grill on the other. As soon as we arrived we were greeted. We chose a 2 seater booth which was plenty big enough. On the table are your menu's. These are so small you'll need your reading glasses. There is also a table top display that includes a list of the beers they serve, new appetizers they offer and regular weekly specials information. Our waitress came over with forks and napkins, took our drink order and filled us in on the days specials. The meat pie sounded tempting but I really wanted to try the burger on my first visit. The burgers are cooked well-done. It doesn't taste like salt & pepper is used when they are cooked, but there are shakers on the table as well as white vinegar and more napkins. We asked our waitress for mustard and ketchup to put on the burgers. I upgraded to dirty fries on my hamburger plate. The dirty fries taste like they have a hint of cayenne pepper but over all the spice did not 'pop'. A bit of salt and vinegar helped. The fries appear to be made of fresh cut potato that is deep fried on low heat. They are tender throughout with no 'crisp' on the outside. Adding mustard to the burger helped the over all taste. The lettuce was nice and fresh, the pre-sliced tomato was a bit old looking. The grilled onion served with all the burgers are a little sweet and add a nice texture to the meal. We also tried the fried zucchini appetizer. There are limited vegetable choices on the menu and I wanted to add some veg to the meal. The breadcrumb coating is a little sweet and very crunchy. Not a healthy veg, but quite tasty. Our waitress asked if we would like dessert. I asked about the strawberry short cake and was told that's available in the warm weather months. The normally offered desserts include apple, blueberry and pumpkin pies and a grapenut pudding with changes here and there so check with your waitress if you like dessert. Things to know: They could give the floors a nice scrub, but otherwise it seemed clean. The single restroom is behind the swinging doors off the dining area. A 4% surcharge is added to your tab when making payment by credit card. A restaurant parking lot is located next to the building. The real attraction of this place is the ambiance and staff. When we got up to leave the cook and both waitresses said good bye. This is a real friendly, neighborhood icon. read more

No frills and delicious! A couple of friends first put me on to Stanley's last summer and I haven't looked back. I usually order a double mushroom cheeseburger, no pickles (comes with caramelized onions). They make burgers to order, which might mean a bit of a longer wait but it also means your food is fresh! I would recommend the 'dirty' fries, which have a nice smoky seasoning. And you really can't beat the prices! This place is wonderful. :) read more

A quintessential Rhode Island experience! A ton of choices on the menu. Burgers, dogs, and seafood oh my! Our delightful server Nancy recommended the fried pickles and they were some of the best we have had. Plenty of precautions taken, masks, sanitizer and plastic barriers between seats. Forgo your usual and try a new burger topping. I highly recommend the mushroom. read more

We had been to Stanley's before the Rhode island food fights, and it is one of our go-to places, so we were stoked to see it on the burger blowout challenge! The service is always fantastic and the prices are very cheap for the high quality and amount of food. It is cash only, so be prepared, but it is always a great experience! read more

Wonderful place to go around the block for a quick bite. Portions are very good and plentiful. Our server Lisa is an amazing, lovely person that is very attentive and full of smiles (you can tell even with her mask on lol. Spaced out seating to confirm to covid restrictions. Small diner vibe. Must try the fried pickles!! Would mosdef go back everytime I'm up here in Rhode Island from florida. A true central falls staple. read more
