This was my first time in the restaurant but it will not be my last. I was in there redeeming my burger coupon from my burger passport from Rhode Island and was so glad I went. The food is cooked while you wait right there. It was so good it was hot juicy and fresh it came with grilled onions which is our favorite really hit the spot one of the best burgers I had on the passport this time. We will be going back as we ordered french fries that were cut and cooked to order and then every Friday they have fresh fish items until they run out. Going to take the honey back to have the fresh whole belly clams plate and I'm going to have their fresh clam cakes. And chowder. The people are very friendly and knowledgeable they have all been there for many many years which made it that much more comforting. Because a lot of times you're going to restaurants to eat especially now in those restaurants have new employees that don't know much about what they're doing or the restaurant in particular. We came in from the Buffalo NY area and were referred to Stanley's by our Airbnb. we ordered the bacon burger and the mushroom cheeseburger, both doubles and they were delicious. very flavorful and filling. I also ordered the fried pickles and OMG they were very addicting! Our server was very friendly and very informative! this is a must if you are in the area. you will not be disappointed. I have been going to Stanley's for about 65 years. My parents went there when they were going out together in the late 1930's. The burgers, fries and all of their menu is excellent! Such a terrible experience at Stanley's. Fries were clearly from a frozen market Basket bag. Burger buns were not toasted. Nothing worse than soggy burger bun. The staff don't care. Great place for diner food. I ordered the chili cheese fries and the poutine. I enjoyed the chili cheese fries more because who doesn't love chili? Poutine could have used more cheese. I ordered the double mushroom burger. Had to say it was very delicious. Just the right about of mushroom and cheese. I don't try to eat giant portions so I think these sliders are a good portion size. I also got a milk shake. Pretty standard. Nothing horrible about it but nothing exceptional. Just vanilla. Waitress was very nice and got my boyfriend a new coffee when he accidently poured vinegar into his coffee thinking it was sugar. This was my first visit I had heard a lot of good reviews. I got 2 Stanley burgers with cheese AB be hand cut fries. Their "thing" is that all of the burgers cone with pickles and grilled onions. Each burger was less than three dollars and the fries were four dollars. Can't beat the price, food was fresh. The only reason I dropped a star is because the onions were a little overcooked and mushy. Other than that very good definitely a must try. read more

I really don't know why everyone raves about this place. Everyone's been telling me "try the burgers. Stanley's is the best". It is really cute, retro diner in the middle of CF. Our waitress was very pleasant. But, I have nothing else to say about this restaurant other than the burger patties that everyone raves about had zero flavor. Nothing. Tasty authentic diner burger! With that comes the authentic diner atmosphere, so it looks a bit dingy and greasy. My girlfriend says the burger is a bit greasy too, I agree, but i think i like that at this place lol...it's definitely a bit greasy but that's what gives it its flavor. My preference is the single stanley burger with cheese with the Stanley's special fried onions and pickle, and i add lettuce and tomato for about a dollar more. I can't be 100% sure, but I do believe the first burger I ever ate as a child was a Stanley burger. Even though Stanley's decor went through a major facelift a few years back, absolutely nothing has changed about the burger. They are just as delicious as they were over 20 years ago. The burgers are thin, double burgers are smashed into one, and all are topped with a mound of perfectly grilled onions and pickles (unless otherwise specified). A lot of reviews call these burgers, sliders. I'm not quite sure why? Sure, they're not some behemoth gut busting burger -- but I wouldn't call them siders either. The Quebec style fries, while not traditional poutine, are delicious in their own regard. What's not to like about crispy fries covered in cheese and gravy? Stanley's does have a menu with plenty of other items, but I couldn't tell you whats on it. I just couldn't imagine getting anything other than what's described above. It really is that good. We love trying unique establishments and Stanley's fits the bill. The cheeseburgers were fantastic. Another member in our group had the chicken tenders and stated they were very good. The service was friendly and quick. They have an adjacent parking lot which was convenient. Unfortunately they were out of their famous onion rings. The fries were enjoyed by 3 of the 4 people. For me this place is a childhood classic, I have been coming here a handful of times a year for most of my life. When I was back in RI, and looking for a place to eat Stanley's popped up on the Yelp app and reminded me to visit this spot. I love the burgers, but there is also a lot of nostalgia there. Grilled onions and pickles on the standard burger, for me that is the perfect combo! I also get the Quebec fries every time. You just can't beat fried potatoes slathered in cheese and gravy. Last time I was in I also got a shake, the chocolate was good. My friend got the strawberry and it tasted a bit too artificial for me. The service is always okay, nothing amazing, but I am not expecting anything exceptional when I come here.
