Growing up in a Polish household, my grandmother's homemade cooking was a cornerstone of my childhood. One of her specialties--and a personal favorite of mine--was her Reuben sandwich. Oh my gosh, what a treat that was! It set the standard for what a great sandwich should be. Over the years, I've tried Reubens at many places. Some were decent, others forgettable, but today I stumbled upon an absolute gem in the most unexpected of places--a BMW motorcycle dealership! I met Eric, the owner and head chef, and he was as welcoming and friendly as they come. I walked in with a general idea of what I wanted, but then I spotted the pastrami Reuben on the menu. When Eric mentioned it was one of his specialties, I knew I had to try it. Let me just say, I think a tear might've rolled down my cheek when I took my first bite. Words truly can't do justice to how incredible this sandwich was. The marble rye bread was fresh and perfectly toasted, offering just the right amount of crunch. The pastrami was tender, flavorful, and had a subtle smoky flavor (at least that's what my taste buds picked up!). The combination of house made coleslaw, Russian dressing, melted cheese, and--surprisingly--bread and butter pickles took this Reuben to a whole new level. I've never had pickles like that on a Reuben before, but wow, they worked! The balance of flavors was spot on, and the sandwich itself was a generous size, leaving me fully satisfied. Now, my grandma will always be the reigning queen of Reuben sandwiches in my heart, but I have to admit--Eric's version easily ranks in my top five, if not my top three. It's that good. Without a doubt, I'll be back to explore more of his menu, and I'm already looking forward to enjoying another Reuben. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor: stop by, say hi to Eric, and treat yourself to a meal that's crafted with care and packed with flavor. You won't regret it! Maybe you'll even ride away on a new motorcycle! :P

I know what you're thinking. Wait why is this place inside of a motorcycle shop? It's random but so fire don't pass up on the opportunity to eat here! Amazing owner such a nice guy. First of all his coffee is legit, easily one of the best spots to grab an iced coffee in OC. Don't skip the specials either! Loved it so much we came twice in one week - once for breakfast and once for lunch.

It's not often today for the owner of a business to reach out directly to a customer - she did and it was a very positive engagement. There are time that even the best business has a hiccup and something goes wrong. What makes a huge difference is how the business responds, and therefore, Rekindle gets five stars. I'm certain my next visit will be fantastic - I'll be posting an update in the near future. Wow - So Disappointed! Rekindle was at the Taste of Orange this year and I enjoyed one of the Italian sandwich samples they were handing out. It was fantastic! We met the owner - she was very charismatic and charming. Today we stopped by to grab an Italian sandwich, and I just cannot believe they served me bread that was so old and dry - it would have been perfect for croutons, but definitely nothing like what we had at the Taste of Orange. The bread was so dry I had to dress it up with some olive relish to eat it - I don't expect when I pay $31 for a sandwich and chai iced tea latte to get home and have to start working on my sandwich. I accept some responsibility for this, because honestly, who goes to a coffee shop for a sandwich.

A mere 1.3 miles away, I find this eight year old coffee shop that has its name origins from the German word for bread. Evidently, they have a plethora of baked foods mainly consisting of flour, water and often yeast displayed in full display next to the counter. I asked one of the staff if the shop makes their own bread and she said a local artisan bakery supplies them. They look amazing and they even have gluten-free options! This is a family-owned business that provides a more than suitable area for working on your laptop with WiFi access, or simply enjoying your favorite hot or cold caffeinated beverage, oh, and I must mention that they have premium blends as well for the coffee aficionado! Spacious indoor area that doesn't feel cramped and the exposed ceiling vents, the jazzy beats that is playing at a perfect volume and plenty of potted plants give it a balanced chill industrial vibe. There are tables outside too that's perfect for early morning or late afternoon when it's not too hot. I ordered the Vanilla Latte hot and asked that they fill up my insulated mug instead of the cardboard cup. Even with the steady stream of patrons, I received my expertly prepared brew by their hirsute barista, who gave me "beard envy" (I can only sport a goatee) :D The crew are friendly, conversing with the regulars. I can tell they enjoy working here! I don't come to Orange very often but would definitely grab coffee here again if I'm in the area and would highly recommend this place. This place is doing something right and by mere observation, I can tell they will continue to do so for years to come! Kudos!

I also noticed several tables with conveniently placed outlets, making it a nice spot for studying or getting some work done. During my visit, there were quite a few people working on their laptops, so it seems to be a popular place to settle in for a while. As for the service, it wasn't particularly warm or welcoming. One of the baristas accidentally dropped something, creating a loud noise, and she was visibly frustrated and seemed like she didn't wanna be there which affected the overall atmosphere.

I am writing this review because a few of my friends and I have frequented this coffee shop for a few years now, but we wont be back for a while. Months ago, one of my friends had made a visit and overheard an elderly woman making a negative comment about a Pride flag displayed by the register. Obviously other customers comments cant be or shouldn't be controlled by the company, but we were extremely disappointed to find out that since that comment was made, the Pride flag has been taken down. I had ran in to grab a drip before work one morning and noticed that some of the baristas also no longer had their Pride flag pins on. This clearly has details I am unaware of but it seems obvious that corporate had those images removed. This makes me and my friends feel very uncomfortable with how this situation was treated. I wouldn't recommend any of my friends to support this kind of activity. One very simple solution for you: Bring back the flag and you'll bring back our buisness! If you're worried about more complaints from individuals like the elderly woman, maybe fly an American flag as well I simply want people to feel safe and accepted.

It exists inside an old bank with high rising beams and ornate details on both sides of the walls. In theory, it sounds quite nice until you realize the coffee shop only makes up like 1/3 of the space and looks more like a makeshift pop-up rather than working into the infrastructure. The coffee was okay. My boyfriend got a maple latte that came with a lemon squeeze inside of it (not a good mix). The service was my least favorite part of the experience. I walked in and I myself greeted a barista with glasses. After a moment, he looked up from his whisk and said "hey guys I'll be with you in a moment". Several minutes pass by when another employee comes around from behind us, finishes her task, greets us, and helps us with our order instead. She was actually very nice and personable. I had brought in a to-go sandwich from the deli across the street due to the fact that my boyfriend wanted coffee and wanted to make a pit stop before we head home. While I waited, I took a couple bites at a table as they prepared our drinks. My boyfriend went to pick up our drinks. When he came back, he informed me that the same male barista with glasses said that I couldn't eat in here due to the smell of the food: a comment which caught me off guard. The smell of my deli sandwich would stink up this large coliseum-like building? What a weird thing to say. If he would have said something more direct like "no outside food or drink in here please" I would've respected that. But to comment on the smell of the food? Unnecessary. Especially given his customer interaction with us was already not personable. I don't plan on returning to play coffee unless something changes.
