Pros: Really nice customer service and decent food. Came in for the first time and the pretty salesgirl helped me figure out what to order. She was patient, too. Cons: It's not fresh. Chicken was stale, hard and old. Green onions had been sitting out for a while. What would make me give this place five stars? Fresh cooked chicken and beef right when you order. Fresh green onions sitting out less than 2 hours. Overall: The food tastes good and does not make me sick so I will more than likely come again, but the quality has much to be desired. read more

Since starting as a very small time food critic, I've made it to only a few places so far to try and critique food. The latest have landed me in Flagstaff AZ and at a small place called the Flame Broiler. This is by far the best spot for the type of food they serve. I will call it rice bowls as the style of food because there is nothing else but a bowl or plate of rice served with delectable chicken, beef, veggie or they'll even substitute Tofu for any or your meats for choices. The serving size is perfect, the meat is delicious and their sauces all have a unique taste to them. Heathy, affordable, tasty and the staff are very friendly, there's nothing to hate about this place. I'll be a definite return customer and look forward to another great bowl of Chicken soon. read more

Definitely a staple for me! Although the menu is somewhat limited (basic rice bowls,people, this is not Panda Express!) its always delicious and filling, and probably a healthier choice than some other options in town. Very yummy! A quick stop on our cross country drive that was fast and healthy. I enjoyed a half & half chicken/tofu bowl w brown rice and veggies, and hubby had a larger plate of half chicken and half beef. As recommended by other reviewers I added the Magic Sauce which did enhance the dish; also added some hot sauce since I like spicy. Was very tasty!! Only reason I didn't give it 5stars was the filthy restroom!! Seriously needs a good cleaning; was not just dirty from a day's use!! read more

This place can be great, however there is lady at the front the works sometimes who really needs some help. Just an idea to the owner, if English is not the primary language for the person taking the orders, things are going to get messed up and cost you $ and cause your operation not work run effectively. On my visit today we ordered all white meat with brown rice and carrots for 3 orders. Every single one came out messed up. In addition, the line got so busy customers were leaving. Very frustrating. From now when I walk in and see her in the front I am leaving. On a positive note the young man that works the register is A+ friendly and very efficient. read more

Food was decent. I got the half/half plate. Meat was ok, salad was no good, orange wasn't worth eating. For $10.50, there are far, far better options. I tried this place for the first time yesterday and it was soooooo good! They have amazing customer service and are really fast/efficient at getting your order to you right away. A sign on the door clearly states that a mask is required to enter the restaurant, however I observed two people in the back without their masks. Make sure the people who are handling your food are wearing their masks. read more

This place is nasty! What do you mean "healthy" food? This is fatty grilled fat on top of over cooked rice. We took two bites and threw it away. I would never go again. It is super cheap though and you get what you pay for. Except then you have to go eat somewhere else since you just threw away your 5 dollar food. read more

I like this place, but I don't love it. I perceive it as healthy Chicken, Beef, vegetable or combo bowls and plates with white or brown rice. The price is reasonable but not outstanding. I do like the fact that you have a brown rice option, and you can swap chicken thighs for breast. The reason to get the breast instead is that it's made fresh, so it's worth the extra money. Also, I like that I can get extra or a side of protein or veg to round out the meal. The brown rice option makes me feel better about eating semi-fast food like this, and that's only $0.35 for some peace-of-mind. The customer service people are always polite and orders are filled quickly. The reasons for the loss of the stars: First, inconsistent portion sizes. I have gotten a lot of chicken, a little chicken, lots of veggies, and once I got 4 vegetables in a bowl. But I always get too much rice, way too much rice. A balance of protein, veg and carb would be worth the money. Another inconsistency, the amount I paid for my meal. It has ranged from ~$9 to $11 for the same order. Now I'll admit that this could be my fault and I use the wrong words when order, i.e., extra or side, but the register monkey could ask if I want extra or a full side, and possibly explain what exactly the difference is, possibly by weight or some other quantifiable means. Inconsistency #3, I presume this to be an Asian-type cuisine (rice, soy-based glaze, steamed veggies), yet the only hot sauce they offer is a mexican-style/flavor which does not go with teriyaki sauce. The owner should spring for some Siracha or sambal or chili oil, something with Asian inspired flavor. And you're killing me with the tiny to-go sauce containers, killing me. The inside is dirty, or feels dirty, and the counter looks like they ran out of space in the back for storage. There is a TV high up on the wall, I think it's up there so you don't look at the floor. read more

This place is truly what it advertises to be. It tastes great on a hot or cold Flagstaff day. The ribs take a little longer but they are worth it. Perfect portions, not too big, not too small, and the brown rice tastes amazing. And .35 for brown rice, wow, dude not a big deal at all. I eat here 3-4 times a week and I often bring orders back to my office for my employees, the food is good, simple, fair priced and healthy. HOWEVER The sign says they open at 10:30am, HA! HA! that NEVER happens, today i sat outside until 11:25am before they finally opened!! (I saw at least 6 people walk up and leave while I was waiting), the manager laughed and gave me some lame excuse that he was "at the bank". One of my favorite places to eat in Flagstaff. You can either get combo plates with different meats and vegetables, or a bowl of rice, topped with your choice of meats/vegetables. I recommend getting a bowl instead of a combo plate. It's around 7-8 bucks, and it's a pretty big portion of food. Also worth noting, I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes or so to get my food. Highly recommend. read more
