There many great reviews. Staff looked friendly so we tried two of the bowls beef and ch9 with vegetables. Second was beef with tofu and vegetables. Tbe food did seem healthy. Vegetables were almost raw . The beef was way overcooked and was like jerky. The magic sauce or teriyaki was bitter. Tofu had no flavor . Service was good they seem very accommodating. Place was nice and clean read more

Bro!!!!! Just had this for the first time. Awesome! Great teriyaki bowls with a hit of flame broiled goodness. Well done guys!!

Oh how I miss this sweet sweet hot spot from my college days. Good portions, and great prices, especially for a college student!

Pros: Really nice customer service and decent food. Came in for the first time and the pretty salesgirl helped me figure out what to order. She was patient, too. Cons: It's not fresh. Chicken was stale, hard and old. Green onions had been sitting out for a while. What would make me give this place five stars? Fresh cooked chicken and beef right when you order. Fresh green onions sitting out less than 2 hours. Overall: The food tastes good and does not make me sick so I will more than likely come again, but the quality has much to be desired. read more

The choices are simple and healthy, if your looking for a light meal with some flavor, the flame broiler is a good start. Wish they had a couple more options but other than that it was worth the stop. read more

Since starting as a very small time food critic, I've made it to only a few places so far to try and critique food. The latest have landed me in Flagstaff AZ and at a small place called the Flame Broiler. This is by far the best spot for the type of food they serve. I will call it rice bowls as the style of food because there is nothing else but a bowl or plate of rice served with delectable chicken, beef, veggie or they'll even substitute Tofu for any or your meats for choices. The serving size is perfect, the meat is delicious and their sauces all have a unique taste to them. Heathy, affordable, tasty and the staff are very friendly, there's nothing to hate about this place. I'll be a definite return customer and look forward to another great bowl of Chicken soon. read more

This is my favorite place! Great food and healthy. I come here at least once a week and get the combo plate. Chicken, Beef, veggies, rice and oranges to cleanse the palate. The containers of extra teriyaki and hot sauce are key! read more

Love their food very fast, easy and healthy. Come here at least once a week. Options for vegans are delicious!

Definitely a staple for me! Although the menu is somewhat limited (basic rice bowls, people, this is not Panda Express!) its always delicious and filling, and probably a healthier choice than some other options in town. I've only ever gotten the beef bowl but has always been hot and fresh and quick. About $6-7 bowl. read more

Been here twice for lunch. Got the chicken bowl with brown rice and green onion and raspberry tea. Both times the food and tea were yummy. In the famous words of the terminator, "I'll be back!" read more

I was skeptical to try this place but I am so glad that I did! It was delicious -- their menu is simple and I love that it is all healthy. I ordered the bowl with chicken and brown rice. It had so much flavor! I loved it. read more

Was fast and friendly. Got the chicken bowl. The chicken was burnt and skinny. Add the sauce definitely to it. I will not be heading back to this place as there are other establishments with better quality food. read more

Great food for the price, good portions. I've come here a few times and will keep coming back :) I think the magic sauce is teriyaki ;) thanks guys read more

Alway enjoy flame broiler, never a bad experience. Super fast with your order, even when there's a line. I typically call in an order fir pick up. Nice sized portions. read more

Very yummy! A quick stop on our cross country drive that was fast and healthy. I enjoyed a half & half chicken/tofu bowl w brown rice and veggies, and hubby had a larger plate of half chicken and half beef. As recommended by other reviewers I added the Magic Sauce which did enhance the dish; also added some hot sauce since I like spicy. Was very tasty!! Only reason I didn't give it 5stars was the filthy restroom!! Seriously needs a good cleaning; was not just dirty from a day's use!! read more

I love this place! You can tell the food is quality and it's nice knowing the food you're eating is truly fresh. Tastes great and the mini bowl is always filling! read more

This place can be great, however there is lady at the front the works sometimes who really needs some help. Just an idea to the owner, if English is not the primary language for the person taking the orders, things are going to get messed up and cost you $ and cause your operation not work run effectively. On my visit today we ordered all white meat with brown rice and carrots for 3 orders. Every single one came out messed up. In addition, the line got so busy customers were leaving. Very frustrating. From now when I walk in and see her in the front I am leaving. On a positive note the young man that works the register is A+ friendly and very efficient. read more

This place is great! Awesome food and great price. Nice people working there. The sauces are great too, so make sure you grab some like the hot one and the magic one. Food is prepared timely, quality is great, and the place is clean. Love it read more

Food was decent. I got the half/half plate. Meat was ok, salad was no good, orange wasn't worth eating. For $10.50, there are far, far better options. Their magic sauce is a basic teriyaki sauce, I have no idea why anyone would rave about this. Pretty lackluster experience and certainly not worth the price$$ read more

This place is nasty! What do you mean "healthy" food? This is fatty grilled fat on top of over cooked rice. We took two bites and threw it away. I would never go again. It is super cheap though and you get what you pay for. Except then you have to go eat somewhere else since you just threw away your 5 dollar food. read more

I tried this place for the first time yesterday and it was soooooo good! They have amazing customer service and are really fast/efficient at getting your order to you right away. The food is so delicious! I would totally eat there again! The restaurant itself was not very clean, but it was most likely because of the snow that was trudged in that night. read more

Can't believe I have lived in Flag 3.5 years and tonight was my first time here. So yummy! Do wish they had soy sauce alternative to go with all this healthy food. I just took it go and enjoyed with my coconut aminos though. Will definitely be back! read more

I like this place, but I don't love it. I perceive it as healthy Chicken, Beef, vegetable or combo bowls and plates with white or brown rice. The price is reasonable but not outstanding. I do like the fact that you have a brown rice option, and you can swap chicken thighs for breast. The reason to get the breast instead is that it's made fresh, so it's worth the extra money. Also, I like that I can get extra or a side of protein or veg to round out the meal. The brown rice option makes me feel better about eating semi-fast food like this, and that's only $0.35 for some peace-of-mind. The customer service people are always polite and orders are filled quickly. The reasons for the loss of the stars: First, inconsistent portion sizes. I have gotten a lot of chicken, a little chicken, lots of veggies, and once I got 4 vegetables in a bowl. But I always get too much rice, way too much rice. A balance of protein, veg and carb would be worth the money. Another inconsistency, the amount I paid for my meal. It has ranged from ~$9 to $11 for the same order. Now I'll admit that this could be my fault and I use the wrong words when order, i.e., extra or side, but the register monkey could ask if I want extra or a full side, and possibly explain what exactly the difference is, possibly by weight or some other quantifiable means. Inconsistency #3, I presume this to be an Asian-type cuisine (rice, soy-based glaze, steamed veggies), yet the only hot sauce they offer is a mexican-style/flavor which does not go with teriyaki sauce. The owner should spring for some Siracha or sambal or chili oil, something with Asian inspired flavor. And you're killing me with the tiny to-go sauce containers, killing me. The inside is dirty, or feels dirty, and the counter looks like they ran out of space in the back for storage. There is a TV high up on the wall, I think it's up there so you don't look at the floor. read more

I don't know why I keep giving this place a chance to improve but I did and they failed. Taste old and over done. Always order the chicken it may taste better. The steak or the Angus isn't worth it. The second I ordered it 2 minutes later it was 'ready'. Enough said but avoid this place. read more

A sign on the door clearly states that a mask is required to enter the restaurant, however I observed two people in the back without their masks. Make sure the people who are handling your food are wearing their masks. read more

Great place to get a rice bowl. Menu is simple and strait forward. Workers are pretty chill and friendly. Food comes out fast. Taste pretty good and even better with the Magic Sauce on there. Price is reasonable too. read more

I love this place. Always fast, always delicious and the staff is really friendly. I go at least once a week. 10/10 will recommend.

Flame Broiler is one of the best healthier options in Flag. While it may not be pretty, the location is convenient. The rice bowls are filing and always tasty. Plus the food is quick and very reasonably priced. read more

Wishing I didn't have to travel all the way to Flagstaff for this greatness! Just the right amount of food to fill you up, even had some left overs. Customer service was okay but the food was well worth it. read more

This place is truly what it advertises to be. It tastes great on a hot or cold Flagstaff day. The ribs take a little longer but they are worth it. Perfect portions, not too big, not too small, and the brown rice tastes amazing. And .35 for brown rice, wow, dude not a big deal at all. The sauces are worth trying because they compliment the dishes very well. I live in Texas now and I miss the Flame Broiler sooooo much. read more

Addicted to the chicken bowls ! Also the magic sauce is a must . Service is off and on , the younger crowd that works there (probably students) are friendly and nice but the older lady (maybe owner?) is not friendly ... Seems pissed off to be there . Oh well won't keep me away tho :) read more

Amazing place!!! It's cheap, tasty, filling and healthy! What more could you want? The service is always consistent and the food is always made very well. The works combo is worth trying and their sauces are good too. I think this is my favorite place in flagstaff! read more

My boyfriend and I tried this place for the first time today and I can confidently say we will be coming back a lot! Very good prices for the portions, the veggies are nice and fresh, and the chicken reminds me of a much less fattening teriyaki chicken. Not sure how fresh the chicken is, by yummy anyways! read more

I eat here 3-4 times a week and I often bring orders back to my office for my employees, the food is good, simple, fair priced and healthy. HOWEVER The sign says they open at 10:30am, HA! HA! that NEVER happens, today i sat outside until 11:25am before they finally opened!! (I saw at least 6 people walk up and leave while I was waiting), the manager laughed and gave me some lame excuse that he was "at the bank". I go to the bank every day for my business too, the bank opens at 9am and I was there twice already this morning... give me a break! Good food... bad manger, not on time, LAME! read more

Good food! You should definitely check this place out if you're looking for something a little lighter. The price is moderate given the portion size. But I think that's what they're going for: smaller portions = less calories. Anyways, give it try! read more

This place is amazing and I have been hooked since I found it!! The food is fresh and the magic sauce is really really good

Love it there owner is very nice and goes out of his way to make sure you are happy!!

One of my favorite places to eat in Flagstaff. You can either get combo plates with different meats and vegetables, or a bowl of rice, topped with your choice of meats/vegetables. I recommend getting a bowl instead of a combo plate. It's around 7-8 bucks, and it's a pretty big portion of food. Also worth noting, I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes or so to get my food. Highly recommend. read more

This place is really good. Healthy food for a great price. I usually get the works bowl and it is a lot of food for cheap (doesn't taste cheap though). Tastes fresh Everytime I have been. read more

Why have I not been here before? I loved the food! I had the chicken and veggie bowl, with the hot sauce. It was really good, and really affordable, it's about $5 per bowl, and it's a big serving. The store seems health conscious, they even have brown rice, also they have signs everywhere saying no MSG, no skin, no trans fat, and some other things, I can't remember what they were. I will most definitely be back! read more
