I have been coming here regularly for the past 4 years. I had a meal plan and came here between 10 and 20 times per week for all three meals. While I admit, the food is not the greatest food you will ever have; I will say that most of the food is good, and there is enough variety to not make coming here a terrible chore.
The Hot Spot, like any cafeteria/buffet possesses a few constants. In the morning, they usually serve the same assortment of stuff with slight varieties to the choices such as the occasional inclusion of bacon as a meat choice. During lunch and dinner, they always serve burgers and fries, pizza, Mongolian style Chinese food, among others.
That being said, there is still enough variety to make people happy. First, they have a sandwich bar where students can have someone make their own custom sandwich, there is a vegetarian vendor that serves different items everyday, They even have theme weeks, where they cook up international dishes. Lastly, every afternoon they have a snack bar open where they serve different snacks including ice cream, puddings, and others.
Overall, I think this place is pretty decent and I would temper your expectations for fine dining because this is not a 5 star place. However if you come here expecting an abundance of decent quality food at a good price, I think you might be pleased. read more
