Great food and incredible service! Had the opportunity to chat with Paul the GM of the restaurant and today, the cook as well as our server Miquela. Both were energetic and great to ask us what they could do to make our visit better. The food choice is large and fresh. If you haven't been here, you start with building your bowl of uncooked protein (beef, chicken, pork, meatballs, sausage, etc.) then add veggies, sprouts, beans... you name it! Next is the sauce bar. They have a huge selection of sauces and oils to choose from. Recipes are listed to help you or just be creative! You can go back as many times as you like. You can't leave here hungry! Remember to tip the cook and ring the gong!! Keeping this on our regular list to visit! Give it a try! Parking tip- use the covered parking right behind the restaurant (across from REI). Cool in summer, dry in winter! read more

I highly recommend coming to this place with people who know or are willing to make great mixtures with ingredients. My family was not happy, as their combination did not go well. I really enjoyed my combinations. One thing is that this place was not well cleaned, the service was terrible, and there were no shrimp. read more

I stopped in for a quick lunch, loaded my bowls, added sauce to one of them, and headed to the grill. A hurried chef came from the back and immediately scolded me for not putting my sauce in the "correct" bowl. I apologized and explained it was my first time, but he continued to berate me. At that point, I said, "I guess you're not working for a tip today." Under his breath, he gruffly responded, "Short-staffed. I'm the manager. Don't have time for this." I apologized again and suggested he--especially as a manager--take a moment to teach instead of scold. Instead, he came over again and continued berating me. I'm honestly shocked that in an era where customer service matters more than ever--especially with social media and online reviews--a manager would risk displaying such attitude and disregard for guests. Needless to say, I won't be returning. read more

We got in to Flagstaff kind of later in the afternoon/evening and were looking for something close to our hotel. I found HuHot on Yelp and decided to give it a try. First to note- their hours are not correct on Yelp. They closed at 8 p.m. instead of 9. So we cut it kind of close. The server was still good even though we walked in 45 minutes before they shut down. Some things were running out for the evening. But we still had plenty to choose from. A couple waiting to eat also had a gluten allergy and they were extremely accommodating for them - I would say even above and beyond what I've seen in a restaurant before. We enjoyed our meals and would definitely eat here again if we are ever in the area. read more

Huhot always makes a trip to the great city of Flagstaff worth it. I went over the fourth and per usual I enjoyed every bit of both of my trips to this location. The consistency between lunch and dinner service was very much appreciated, and it is rare that you get to fully customize your beverage to accompany your meal which was a huge bonus. The grill masters always provided amazing small talk while cooking your food which added to the personable atmosphere and added a great personal experience to the overall process of making the meal truly yours. They had a new Hawaiian sauce that was pretty dope and I already cannot wait for my next trip to Flagstaff so I can eat at the best Mongolian grill in Arizona by far! As a bonus, the all you can eat structure ensures you get every bit of value from your meal. read more

Haha surprisingly this place was really goood. While visiting the Grand Canyon, i had stopped by flagstaff and by accident found this place. I was craving Asian food so I decided to give it a try and honestly it did not disappoint. The service was a little slow but I came during a time that not a lot of people were eating so maybe they were taking it a little easy, no big deal. There are so many sauces it was really easy to make your dishes how you want them. I had a good meal here! read more

We didn't have too many food options because I had no service in Flagstaff, and the restaurants in the area didn't even offer WiFi. As a result, my boyfriend and I ended up eating here for dinner. There were a lot of different options to put on your plate (all-you-can-eat style), with someone cooking it for you. The price was $20 per person and included rice and salad. Appetizers were available for an extra cost. The service was relatively slow, but regardless, we were welcomed and received nice service overall. read more

I have apparently been spoiled by ycs in the valley because this experience was miiiid. The only good part of this was the sauce, the noodles are not fun and the meat was bland. Also I've been staring at this hair I found in my food for 26 minutes and I cannot figure out if it is dog or human, but one thing is for sure, ITS NOT MINE. Also! I did not get a straw with my Dr Pepper. Sause is good tho. read more

HuHot Mongolian Grill - Hair - Mongolian Near Me - Flagstaff, Arizona

Huhot has been my all time favorite restaurant for yearsssss. There isn't a single one in California so when I took a trip to Sedona I of course had to drive up to this Huhot! I've been through this Huhot twice before, both times to do takeout. This was my first time eating in. Everything was fairly clean which is pretty expected and every Huhot I've been to (I've been to A LOT of Huhots) has been clean. There was spilled sauce or veggies so they must be pretty on top of it. I only passed through twice as we had a filling lunch and went here for dinner. I would say the quality has gone down a bit. The meat ended up dry and the sauces weren't as flavorful as I remember them being. They didn't offer soup as I usually receive when I go to Huhot and my boyfriend ordered a salad that he never got. I know Huhot is more of a serve yourself with the style of restaurant, but it took forever to even get the check and then get the check back. This is the reason for the star taken off. Of course I'll come back to Huhot as it is still my favorite, but maybe to a different location. read more

Everything was delicious and the cooks were amazing! I love coming here whenever I visit Flagstaff!

I appreciate your response. Who would I ask for when I call? I really loved this restaurant. It's sentimental for me because I found out about my Moms terminal brain cancer coming back while I was there. I have the best memories here too. I hope it was just an off day because it the past this restaurant was so close to my heart. read more

HuHot Mongolian Grill - Advertising for beer and wine? With neither available ? - Mongolian Near Me - Flagstaff, Arizona

Eaten a lot of Mongolian barbecue over the years. They have gotten kind of boring later in life. NOT THIS ONE ITS AMAZING .

The food offerings are good and fresh. I feel as if the grill isn't hot enough, it takes several minutes to cook one bowl (longer than at other Mongolian experiences I've been to) especially when there are multiple orders on the grill surface that require using copious amounts of water to remove stuck food thus cooling the surface. If the grill is hot enough and properly seasoned food sticking should be minimal. The use of spatulas to move the food around cuts the noodles as opposed to long sticks that leave the noodles long, easier to be eaten with chopsticks. The dining tables are really greasy as is the railing surrounding the grill area. They need a deep clean. Men's bathroom has soap splatter on the wall that appears to have been there quite some time, sink is filthy. Personally I don't feel the food or surroundings are worth $20 + per person after drink but AFAIK it's the only restaurant of its kind within 100+ so. read more

Very tasty and great service thank you Candice and staff for being so awesome last night!

Food was excellent, the cook was amazing when we went. My problem was the servers. The meat and veggies weren't refilled, there were 2 servers ignoring our corner of the restaurant. We called for help several times, but we're ignored. The cook finally came out to help us. So yeah. Better service when the owner is working that's for sure. read more

Excellent service. Staff was super nice and the food was really good! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was I think they should give a to go box. I know it's all you can eat but you can only eat so much and even if you charged a dollar or two for it to go box I think that would have made me get five stars. read more

I see the reviews are mostly positive. I read some of the negative reviews, and my observations were mostly the opposite of those: We found the servers attentive, friendly, and helpful; the restaurant was clean; and the buffet was well organized and fully stocked. (Though there's a strategy to stacking a bowl. Ingredients that can easily fall out should go in first, and stackable items like noodles go last. We pretty much had to go through the buffet in reverse to get that right, but no Mongolian restaurant I've been to gets this right for me.) My problem with the sauces is that several had fishy ingredients unnecessarily. Fish sauce should be a separate sauce and not in things like peanut sauce. Yuck! This bothered my group more because we eat vegetarian. Nevertheless, there was still plenty of sauces available for vegetarians, and they were good. My other issue is with the cooking. I'm not much of a cook, so I could be wrong, but I think that the cook of a stir fry should be stirring most of the time he's frying--not leaving the food unattended most of the time. I'm pretty sure the lack of attention negatively affected the quality of the stir fry. The cooks at the four other Mongolian BBQs I've been to were moving all the time and didn't leave the pile of food sitting still on the grill for very long. Often they were able to also sweep the excess sauce back into the serving bowl, which gives a side of rice something to soak up. (HuHot has serving plates, not bowls, so probably wouldn't be able to accommodate extra sauce.) Admittedly, if this were the only Mongolian grill in town, I'd keep coming back anyway, because I just like this style of restaurant that much, but I'd come back more often if they would fix the issues I had with the food. read more

A little expensive but really great food. Wide variety of things to put in your bowl to get put on the giant round Blackstone like cooker.

HuHot Mongolian Grill is one of our family's "go to" favorites while we are in Flagstaff enjoying Snowbowl. It's become a family tradition. We just ate there on a Friday night 2 weeks ago. They were not packed but the staff seemed overwhelmed. We were ignored and didn't have someone stop by to ask about our drinks until we were nearly done with our first plate of food. We were basically ignored our entire visit, which had never been the norm. Granted, we haven't been there since last year's ski season. The raw food line was missing beef. I asked for a refill and after literally waiting 5 minutes without anyone bringing food, I asked another worker, who promptly brought some out. We were disappointed to discover that they no longer have the soft serve ice cream machine but whatever. The grossest part of the entire visit was watching the grill cooks yelling HuHot and seeing spit flying out of their mouths onto the food cooking in front of them. Surely there is a better way. I love the idea of the gong and the tip but maybe it makes sense to look away from the food or wear a mask to keep from getting spit on food??? On a positive note, I was impressed to see how much care and attention the cooks make for someone who shares they have an allergy. The woman in the cook line ahead of me shared this and they did a good job of making sure the grill was clean, all the utensils were clean and they blocked off the grill to ensure that the food wasn't cross contaminated by allergens. read more

First time trying this restaurant out here in Flagstaff omg the food was absolutely so yummy to my tummy, loving spice they matched it and I was so happy... the server and the staff thar cooked our food did so wonderful...this location is a must, taking your bowl with raw meats and veggies and spices for them to cook in front of you is also so much fun to see ... well for sure be back we loved vibe... read more

They have lots of options to make great noodles. One Sunday my wife and I came for lunch and we heard the manager cooking and scolding staff. Thought this guys not very nice. My wife usually orders hers to go, because she can't eat it all and likes the leftovers. I ordered to eat in, about 10 minutes in the manager tells us she can't eat hers here and has to leave. We were blown away and said they have signs that say it has to be to go, when I asked where are the signs he said the website. I was not going to make my wife sit and watch me eat, so I asked for a box. He said no! I asked to talk to the manager, finding out he was, I asked for the owner and he called and gave me the phone. The owner was reasonable and told me I could have a box to take mine home. That manager has made this place a NO GO, for my wife and I. Sadly, because the food and restaurant are great. Some people were not meant to work in the HOSPITALITY industry. read more

My taster buds are on fire!!! Did a search for restaurants near my hotel and this one came up (Along with about 50+ others). It looked good in the photos so I headed out to try it. It's so simple! You fill a bowl (or two) with ingredients (vegetables that are plentiful) and then choose your meats (beef, chicken, pork, and some others) then you his the sauce bar and select a sauce (or 10!). Then head over to the grill and they grill it up for you, put it on a plate... then you enjoy! And best of all...it's all you can eat!! Great value at $16.99! There are take out options too for a little less. It's was tasty and my sauce selections made it spicy! Delicious dinner! read more

I recently was in flagstaff to handle some family matters, myself and wife decided to catch a bite to eat at our known establishments. HuHUT was a delicious spot to eat for lunch but today we had went to through the ordinary process, food line up is always good but when we came to the service of cooking it turned horrible, we could see that there was a new cook perhaps but in some sort of training. As cooking progress we notice that food was left on grill for a long duration without any water causing food to burn and left a burnt taste on food, as making it very dry. We hope this experience doesn't ruin our next trip again read more

HuHots are hit and miss in my experience. At least in Utah. We love it when it's good, but have been to at least one gross one. We thought we'd try one out in AZ and see if it was one of the good ones. It was by far the best. The buffet (and everything) was clean. The people were kind. The server was helpful, letting us know things like soup were included in our price. I don't know if it's included at all locations or just this one, but we were excited to try it. The food was plentiful and fresh. The ice cream machine was broken, but the server let us take cones for fun and told us we could order bowls of ice cream since the kids were pretty excited about it. We felt like valued customers and enjoyed our time there- and the food! read more

Way better than YC's Mongolian grill! This place was really tasty, their options were great, and I loved pigging out here, really. So good. Family and I came here after a long day at the Grand Canyon and it was just what we needed. We loved this place. In town from the valley here for a Memorial Day baseball tournament. Most Mongolian grills are one trip through the line, and they make you use only one bowl. That means you pile a tower noodles meat and vegetables into your bowl but things are falling all over the place. This place is as many bowls as you want and as many trips through the line as you want. Very reasonably priced and plenty of items and sauces. Overall, the taste of the buffet grill items was very good. Some negatives were the appetizers were not priced making it appear like it was included in the all you can eat cost. The drinks also did not have prices again making it appear like it was part of the all you can eat cost. We would not recommend the crab Rangoon which tasted like plain Philly cheese with no crab. The service was excellent. Would have given a four or five based on service, but very disappointed due to added cost of appetizers and sodas, and not making it be known that there was an added cost. read more

Love this restaurant! What's better than being able to create your own plate and it turning out to be delicious and being able to get seconds? It's always fresh and even when it's busy, doesn't take too long. It's definitely worth waiting a few extra minutes for. I love the sauces and trying new combinations each time. Needed a quick place to eat and we found this Mongolian Grill. I was severely disappointed due to the fact that as soon as I walked in no one was there to greet me. I had to wait for other customers to come in and pile up before someone reached out. There facility was definitely dirtier than I was expecting but as soon as I was walked over to the grill area they told me that since I was getting the food carry out that there was only "one size" even though online they said there was kid versions etc. My spider sense was already tingling tremendously at this point but the final nail in the coffin was that their selection of food buffet area to build your bowl didn't have any wax paper to compress your food and the bowl they give you is small. Given this I was unable to get much food into the bowl (which normally at most if not all Mongolian grills they have wax paper to compress and fit more). The food once it was cooked was edible but the meat itself was old tasting and didn't feel fresh. Overall, I would definitely avoid this Mongolian grill. read more
