Very good food here, and can accommodate gluten free needs by getting the chicken bowl with no drip sauce at all. That's my favorite dish. My only complaint is sometimes the meat is dry as if it had been sitting. Possibly just my bad timing towards closing. Other than that, it's great pricing for the bowl sizes. read more

There are few times in life when a meal is so perfectly aligned with the needs of the body that it causes you to run a 5k when you get to your hotel's fitness center. The angus veggie bowl was one such meal. I was tired from my 6:30am flight to Arizona, experiencing body locks from a long car ride, and feeling queasy from my "phat azz samich"(technical term, see Lolo's review) followed by ice cream for lunch. The beef and blanched veggies, which are already tasty on their own, felt like a cool breeze during a hammock nap in the summer under a shady tree. The bowl was priced fairly for the amount of food received. The beef was slightly juicy but well-seasoned and mixed well with the rice and blander vegetables. They had sauce options, but apparently no pickled ginger; however, the food was still fine without those additions. Definitely would eat again and it's perfect for a quick meal. The cashier was also really nice and let us steal water in our thermoflasks. read more

Well, I just found my new lunch spot. I have heard/read tons of good things about this place and I figured it was time to give it a go. I was a little worried if it was going to be enough to fill me up but I that was put to rest when I had a hard time finishing my bowl. I grabbed a beef bowl with added avocado. It was super yummy and the rice had this perfect texture that I absolutely loved. If anyone has seen any of my other posts it may not be a big secret that I try to make every dish I have super spicy. I saw a salsa dispenser and quickly loaded up. I went for the second to hottest that they offer and WOW this stuff packs a punch. I was reaching for my water after the first bite! The spice perfectly complemented the bowl and I was actually glad that I did not go for the hottest that was offered. I can only assume that they have to prepare it with lava-proof gloves. All in all, I would definitely say I am a fan. I was not however impressed with the cleanliness of the business. There was a good 1/4 inch of dust on the fans and it looked like they were a little slow to clean up tables. The menu signs were also a little shotty with Sharpie marker and dated decor. I made an order for pick up, and upon arrival my boyfriend was ignored and locked out of the store despite being three hours before closing time. He tried calling and was also ignored. I managed to speak to the manager over the phone and explained that we had made an order for pick up and that our card was charged. She then assured me that no charge had been issued which was a lie as the money had already been pulled out of my boyfriend's account. I don't understand why she couldn't have just issued a refund then and there, instead of locking the doors and ignoring the customer when there was no information to let us know that they were closed. Google and Apple Maps showed they were open, as well as the website processing the order. Overall customer service was just very bad for food that is quiet bland and poorly seasoned. I don't recommend based off food and service combined. As a restaurant, when you are in the fault you don't inconvenience the customer. It would've taken two seconds to process a return then and there, instead they made him come back a separate time and locked the doors while it was snowing outside. Very poor etiquette and just not something I would put my money into again. read more

Flame Broiler is decent if you want a fast, cheap-ish meal. I wasn't too impressed, maybe because I had high expectations from what I've heard about the food. I got the regular bowl with half chicken, half beef, brown rice, and veggies. I also added the optional green onions and magic sauce. The meat seemed like it had already been cooked and just reheated on the grill for my order. The magic sauce was a standard sweet teriyaki sauce, which was necessary to make the bowl taste better. The rice and vegetables were pretty good. The portion was pretty reasonable for the price; the quality of the food was not. For a place that promotes fresh food, it was disappointing that I could cook something more fresh. Maybe it was because I went on a snow day and I was the only customer eating there. Stopped by The Flame Broiler on our way down the 17 from Utah. I honestly couldn't be happier with the portion size, flavoring, and simplicity of the menu - unsurprising assets provided the huge college following that this place has. I got the beef bowl and had to box it up to-go due to the portion size. The ability to pick and add more sauce was pretty fantastic given my need to have control over those kinds of things. I was a little disappointed by the kimchi, but this is only a distraction from the good deal that you get with the bowl. Good service, good food, good price. No real complaints here. read more

The Flame Broiler claims loudly and repeatedly that they serve healthy, tasty grilled food. I can vouch for the grilled portion. And it wasn't bad. It wasn't that good either. You can order a variety of platters and bowls with chicken, beef or a combo. I went with a combo and the extra .35 for brown rice. The meat has some seasoning and a basic grilled flavor. There are 2 sauces available which if I recall correctly were called "Crazy Sweet" and "Crazy Hot". The sweet version was very much a teriyaki-like glaze. The hot was not very hot but had a pleasing flavor not unlike Sriracha. Flagstaff is a big enough town I'm sure you can find something better for your 8 bucks. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Flagstaff, especially if you are in need of a quick lunch and are shopping within the Milton area. I especially found eating at this place to be useful as an NAU student since the prices are very cheap and they have a nice selection of soda and bowl types that can satisfy anyone. The Food The food here is pretty good. It's a rice bowl place so if you don't like this type of food, you should stay away. They have a selection of bowls and plates to choose from, and you can even choose between brown rice and white rice. Your protein options are limited to chicken, beef, and tofu. Not bad, just not much variety, They also have vegetarian option so you can get a veggie bowl. Usually the food tastes fresh, although sometimes I have encountered what I can describe as freezer burn on the veggies. Sometimes the chicken is dry or overcooked, and the rice is undercooked. I have been coming here for years so it's not consistent, but it has happened often enough for me to be concerned. Other than that, its not bad, and can be remedied by putting soy sauce on it which I like. The Service and Decor This is a little healthy fast food place, so it looks and feels like a cafeteria. I usually just pop in and out, so it doesn't matter. The service is spotty. The employees here are mostly college students, many whom are likely having their first job experiences here, so I expect that. For the most part they are accommodating, and they do their jobs. Overall, it's a nice little place to go for a quick and cheap bite to eat. It's near Target and Bookmans, and Sprouts, so its not a bad place to be. Check it out. read more

For what it is it's good. Simple rice bowl. Not really Asian. You think of a teriyaki rice bowl, for example, but that's not really this. It's an American rice bowl. One of their sauces is sort of like teriyaki (but not really), and the other is sort of a buffalo spicy sauce. Menu is very limited. You can get a beef bowl, a chicken bowl, either bowl with veggies, or a "half and half" (beef and chicken). That's pretty much it. Oh...and they have kimchi, though we didn't really like it (they gave us a sample). Food came out pretty quick (maybe 10 minutes after we ordered), serving a bit small but enough, not too expensive. For "fast food" it definitely beats McD's or Wendy's or any of those places. This is real food that is pretty healthy. Nothing fancy. The guy behind the counter was very friendly, too. read more

My son and I ate here a few days ago outside on their sidewalk, since dining in isn't an option due to Covid-19, which I completely understand. There many great reviews. Staff looked friendly so we tried two of the bowls beef and ch9 with vegetables. Second was beef with tofu and vegetables. Tbe food did seem healthy. Vegetables were almost raw . The beef was way overcooked and was like jerky. The magic sauce or teriyaki was bitter. Tofu had no flavor . Service was good they seem very accommodating.
