Gave me a infection in my nail and then tried to tell me it was my fault I will not be going back there.

I got a pedicure and a full set before I went on vacation. The first day, unfortunately one nail fell off and I didn't feel it, but I was already iut of the country. Other fell off quickly after that, and I even got 2 nails fixed elsewhere. The nail tech also cut one toe too far, and it hurt for a couple of days, so I was pretty bummed about that. Firstly they said they opened at 1030,i drove 30 plus minutes to get here and arrvied early, they did not arrive to open until 1055 and were very rude short when asked about timely opening, I understand that it is snowing, however the weather forecast said there would be snow, you are running a buisness. Horrible customer service I have been trying to get a no chip fixed which peeled off within 12 hours of having it done, I paid a decent amount of money and they simply dont seem to care to fix their mistakes.dont get me wrong the original service was great my nails looked amazing but when you pay for a no chip you expect it not to chip and that if it does you should be considered a priority. This place always has people here ! I spend a lot of fine in the area since I moved in with my boyfriend so I needed to find a new place to have a conversation and get my nails done. When I came here Vicky was available to do my nails and I have to say she was fast and did a really good job. I went there asked clearly do you take cards. They said yes both card and cash is fine. I signed up for Meni&Pedi. The behavior of the lady in charge was insulting and annoying. I thought may be she is sounding like that due to issues in English communication.I ignored the behavior.It was my first time.The lady who was doing the work was nice and doing the job properly but again due to language barrier very poor communication. I ignored that also as I respect all languages. Then once all done I asked her to paint my nails, then to my utter surprise the lady started laughing and started talking to her coworkers in their language and making fun out of me.The lady first asked are you sure? 3 times. Then she said why you want to do?Then she asked me what color you want ? I said bright colors and black. Then the lady said very rudely that go and choose your color but just before sometime they brought the color catalog to a lady customer. In the mean time the other lady who was in charge of the shop started shouting that we don't color Men I am sorry we can't do it. Please pay and leave.I was amused by it. Funny part is just beside me a guy was doing nail painting to a lady customer. I asked them why didn't you tell me before, then they again started speaking in their native language and started laughing. Where do I begin... Disastrous manicure. If I could give them -75 stars on Yelp - I would. I thought this kind of things should not happen in a professional place that takes money for their services. I was sure up until today that if a person charges you money, it is sort of expected that the service is good or maybe average-ish, maybe bad, but is still there. Not this time. Manicurist has no idea what she's doing, rude, ridiculous "service" (which is really absent in this place): hurt my fingers by buffing them too much, then thinning them with a machine that they were bleeding (took no care of it whatsoever and continued - just smashed blood on the nail and that's it) and made my nails too short that it actually hurts. No scrub, no massage like in normal places around. Just some cheap lotion and a weak "effort" to massage hands. I could do a way better job, alas I didn't have time for that. If I had an important event this evening, not just a friends gathering, I would have been so so so ashamed by the manicure I have because it looks ATROCIOUS. As if a 5 year old child have done them... this bad. I would probably visit back just to talk to the owner or manager and show them what costed me $32. DO NOT GO THERE! Take your money somewhere else. This place is ridiculous and dirty, I wish it closed. read more

I went to this place because of all of the reviews on Vicky. I made an appointment with Vicky. When I arrived I sat for an hour after my appointment should have started. She was extremely rushed and was doing three appointments at once. I don't feel like she was paying very good attention to my appointment. No lotion after my nails and she didn't even give me an opportunity to check my eyebrows in the mirror after she did them. My nails turned out OK but she tried to charge me more then what they were. I had a design on 2 nails at $3 each hand. This should equal six dollars and she kept insisting on I pay 10. In the end I had to pay the 10 and I just took the other four out of her tip. I must say for how many good reviews there were I was disappointed with my appointment which lasted an hour longer than it should have because she started late and she was doing multiple appointments at once and rushed through the whole thing and skipped out on normal manicure steps. She did the design OK but I might not come back if she's always this rushed and busy and my eyebrows turned out to have been overdone and will have to grow back. I actually look a little silly and am very unhappy as I have a date tomorrow and I will be on vacation next week so I will be stuck with these eyebrows until they grow back. read more

They are not even close to a five star place. As soon as I walked in I was rushed into picking a nail color the lady was absolutely rude. My natural nails needed to be cut because one hand had them a bit longer than the other She did not cut the length or file my nails before even putting the acrylic tips on, She only got as far as that and I asked her to remove them because they were not even and I told her I would not be getting my nails done here. My friend recommended I come in here, even though I was hesitant because it looks like a hole in the wall. I was told to only go to Vicky... So on a Saturday morning I called for a last minute appointment at 1pm, and surprisingly that was the only time that Vicky actually had available. When I came in she was just starting with some girl, but she told me to pick a color for the no-chip. There was an amazing selection of colors, and there was an acrylic nail on a stick with every color painted on it, there were also different nails with different designs. I chose one of the design sticks and went back to Vicky. I was sat at a table to soak my hands in warm water. For the next 2 hours Vicky skipped between me and 2 other girls... I found this extremely unprofessional, and at some point one of the girls warned her that she had to go back to work and didn't have time for such a long manicure.... Due to the skipping around and length of time I would usually leave a lower rated review, but my nails look amazing!! I hear that if you go during the week and not on a saturday it is slower there, so you will get more attention. It's been almost 2 weeks and still look good. The top coat by the sparkles that I got started chipping a little, but i assume it's just the sparkles, plus i am the only one that can see a difference. Don't expect a high class salon, or superb service, but if you go to Vicky expect to get great looking nails that will last for a while. read more

Five Star? More like One Star. I will not be coming back here. I went here once years ago and after not being able to get appointments at other salons, my mom suggested I go here for the mani pedi that I desperately wanted. The pedicure went fine, but it chipped the next day. I WAS pleased with my manicure, as the polish held up for quite a few days, which was great since I'm busy with my hands all day. Then, I took the polish off and was shocked by the state of my nails. When I got my nails done, I had on a no-chip from another salon. I felt a little attitude from the manicurist when I told her I needed it removed. She told me it would cost extra and placed a bowl of liquid (I think it was acetone) on a candle warmer and put my fingers in it and walked away. Periodically, she would pull my fingers out and scrape at them with one of the instruments and then put it back in the liquid. The liquid got VERY hot and I actually think my finger tips got a little burnt, as I lost some feeling in the tips afterwards. I told her it was too hot, and again, I got some attitude from her. She pulled my fingers out and began vigorously scraping the old polish off. Looking at my nails after removing the polish, I see little nicks in my nails. That was from her scraping at my nails so roughly. So there is still polish stuck in the nicks and my nails look ridiculous and full of horitzontal nicks all over. I've had a no-chip removed before and there was none of the brutal scraping that occurred at Five Star. Go elsewhere. read more

Made an appointment with Vickie for pedi and French no chip. She made pedicure great. By the time she was finishing up my toes, she got a lot of people coming in, on top of that someone directly asked her to do her nails, so I started noticing that she is really hurrying up with my manicure, even though I told her the reason of me being there was my best friend wedding. I came with a certain design in mind that she has done for my friend, but when she started doing it on me, she hardly have any care of how it looks, and she would ask me is this or that is ok, which it totally wasn't, as the lines were not even and just not done right or neat. Every time I would ask her to fix something she would very obviously get attitude and say something on her language that I didn't understand. Rude! After 2-3 nails she tried, I asked her just to do French manicure. At the end she charged my card and I did t find a tip line on a slip, which I asked her about ( not like I wanted to leave her anything after being rushed out of there with an obvious don't give a care attitude) and she answered in a very rude tone: YOU GOT NO CASH?! Well duuuh... I got no cash, you not going to die from paying taxes on your income! So she charged my card one more time for getting that tip from me. She didn't even say thank you. I swear, I have never been treated like that! On top of that it has been 19 hours and my nails are covered with broken curricula that she didn't remove. I just got those nails done and need to go and get them redone as they look like trash and I need to go to a wedding! On top of it she charged me 64$ plus 7$ tip literally for a pedicure, because I can not even call that manicure. WORST experience ever! I made sure I made an appointment so she got time for me and do the same design she once done for my friend but I guess those dollar bills ring in her head louder when more people are coming so she doesn't give a care about the quality of her work and satisfaction of her new clients. This was my first time going to 5 star nails, and I have to say I was not impressed at all, in fact I'm incredibly disappointed. I have been getting Acrylic/Gel nails for years now, and I was told by a family friend that Vicky was the person to see, so I decided to give it a shot. I had made an appointment with Vicky, and when I got there, she had somebody in her chair at my scheduled time, that as it turns out was a walk-in. Although it was annoying to have to wait an additional half hour before getting my nails done at my scheduled time, I decided to let it slide because I wasn't in a rush and patiently waited. When it was finally my turn, I felt that Vicky was trying to finish my nails as fast as possible, and as a result she ended up cutting me and making my cuticles bleed/sting on 5 different fingers with the rotating blade/drill thing that is used for acrylic. I have gotten acrylic done before and sometime a cut does happen, but never on 5 separate fingers during one appointment. She was careless and rude. Finally, after it was time for the polish. Vicky tried to push me to try their no chip nail polish because it dried faster. I told her I didn't want to because I had already picked out a color, and instead of dropping it, she was very pushy and tried again to convince me. She made me, as a customer, guilty for not wanting to get it. I hated the pushy-ness and the guilt. Also, I had narrowed down my polish choices to 3 different colors, and at every other salon they let me see the color on my hand, so that I can see if it looks good with my skin, when I asked Vicky, she very rudely said no that they don't do that there, and she made me quickly decide on the color. Luckily, the color I chose I happen to like on me, but still I think that was very rude and made me feel rushed. Overall, my acrylic fill in looks good if you ignore the fact that 5 out of my 10 fingers have red swollen cuticles that sting like crazy and hurt 6 hours after my appointment. Needless to say, I will not be coming back because my fingers hurt and the service was rude and rushed. read more

Only one technician and she asked who had an appt. which I was the only one. She takes the walk in and I sit there until 10:30 when the rest of the technicians show up. Terrible job done on both my nails and feet. No apology for being so extremely late when I had called 2 days earlier to schedule. I would have walked out if someone hadn't given me a gift certificate. Would NEVER recommend this nail salon. Would highly recommend going to Nail Tech 6 in Wheeling, IL. They give a decent pedicure for $25 and Vicky is amazing with acrylic nails. She is very fast and gets you in and out in no time. I have acrylics and like them to look natural and she gets it and shapes them nicely. read more
