The place is simply decorated, nothing fancy but the work they do is AMAZING! The prices are also a shocker! $20.00 manicure and $33.00 pedicure ( 9/2024) . Called to see if they had a simple manicure slot open after 2pm on a specific day for my mother-in-law. Even though it was only a few days before, they had an opening. The nail salon is in a strip mall, and there was adequate free parking. The manicurist helped Mom pick a color and gave her an excellent manicure. Then they had a nail-drying machine that shortened the time we had to wait for her nails to dry. They were also very accommodating as they helped her negotiate the salon with her walker. This salon is only 5 minutes from her apartment, so that was a bonus for me! All in all, this place was perfect. read more

I'm so torn about this place. I'll admit, my nails look amazing. However, it was so rushed that I was worried the whole time. At one point, there was a visible piece of dust on my nail and he just polished over it. I'm sure he saw it, bc it was clearly visible. Great SALON!! A breath of fresh air!! I am so happy I found this place after trying a few other "no so wonderful" nail salons in Wheeling. I've been here twice- the first time I say Ryan ( I think...) for a pedicure and Rose the next for a Mani. Each time my nails turned out incredible!!! they have amazing colors and spend so much time making sure everything is done perfectly. The massages are to die for! I would spend the money just for their massages alone lol. Really really great salon, clean, up -to-date, great massage chairs. Just perfect. Everyone is friendly and you don't feel like they are talking about you in their own language ( which i really appreciate as i find this at other nail salons quite often. ) Shirley's is a GEM! Have tried many local nail places for gel extensions but haven't loved any so far. I tried Shirley nails at the recommendation of a friend who has been going there for years and so far I'm very happy. Everyone who worked there was very pleasant and my nails look great. My manicurist's name was Jeremy and he was the sweetest (: on top of his amazing personality, he did a fantastic job on my nails! I get pretty nervous going to new places but when I told him what i wanted he quickly and efficiently got the job not just done, but done really well! This is a hidden gem and really the only spot I've been to where every single nail technician is on point. Jeremy, Quinn, Christina, and Tony are my chosen ones when it comes to my coffin-shaped acrylics. Unlike other shops, the technicians ask how you like the shape of your acrylics during the filing process and make changes based on what you want- and they're genuinely kind. This is the ONLY shop that does not up-charge for nail shaping (how it should be) and also the most affordable ($25 for a full set with regular polish). The only downside is that their nail polish selection is terrible but I see a lot of their clients bringing in their own polishes. If you're looking for acrylics at an affordable price without the frills of an upscale shop, this is it! read more

Never coming back here again, used to get my nails done here a lot until I realized my nails always broke and lifted but I thought it was normal until I checked out another salon and I was shocked over how much better the quality was but that place closed so I came back here not even 10 days ago. The guy that did my nails did them SO FAST because on of his favorite clients walked in that he began to not pay attention to what he was doing. My nails lifted tht same day, hair got suck under the nail that same day and broke not even 7 days later. The bottom of my nails was bulky because it was so thick. I used to come here all the time when I was in high school and they never disappointed. It's very unfortunate that I have to give them two stars. The lady that did my manicure was a very nice lady, but she did a sloppy job. The moment I sat down, everything felt very rushed. She did not have technique and basically colored in the lines. There were spots missed and spots where she applied layer after layer and seemed like she depended on the top coat to fix all the mistakes and nail polish remover to clean the edges. I still paid for the service, but probably will not go back there again. read more

I called them on Fruday night to see if they where open on Sunday and whoever I talked to told me to come in at 1:30 on Sunday. When I got there the sign on the door said closed. I'm really disappointed with this place. A few friends recommend this place to me and I thought I'd give it a try. The first time I went it was amazing. I got a no chip manicure, it stayed on for almost a month, and I even got 5 dollars off because it was my first time there. After that it went down hill. Now my no chips chip within a week and they are always rude when I'm there. The last time I was there the woman actually said "don't watch me do your nails watch the tv". I have used nail techs Jeremy (the owner) and Tony for years. They are quick and do immaculate work with nails. There is just no other salons I feel in the area that are as good as them. I even know people willing to drive from surrounding suburbs because of this salon's customer service, personal touch, friendliness, and commitment to customer satisfaction. They are very reliable, regardless of who does your nails. They have a great local reputation and will make sure that you have an experience that makes you want to return. The owner/manager Jeremy is amazing and is a very hard working man running this business to support his children and mother back in Vietnam. He cares about his customers and has personal relationships with them, even remembering details about what's going on in your life and asking you about it. I wish I could do more to promote this nail salon because it is worth every penny spent there in comparison to others.
