I regularly receive a no chip manicure and no chip pedicure and all of the spa treatments! My nails are beautiful and I always let Kathy pick my color. She has the latest trends and can customize with hand painted nail art designs. She can layer color and swirl them making unique creations. She uses a magnet to swirl the magnetic pigments into beautiful sparkling designs that dance in the light. My manicures last 2-3 weeks! My pedicures last forever! She also waxes my eyebrows, lip and chin. I have very sensitive skin, and she is the only one I will let perform this service. My skin does not turn red and does not break out when Kathy waxes me. I have had issues at other salons. She is fixing up the place and recently painted, replaced the carpet and installed new pedicure chairs. She is truly a hands on owner. I've been going to various salons for manicures for over 30 years and First Nail Spa is way up there in amazing service! My nails look fabulous! I went in with Gel-X nails on a few fingers, a couple of cracked natural nails, and no-chip polish on the rest of my nails. Everything was quickly and carefully removed gently. This salon is 5 mins from my house and I decided to check it out based on reviews. The shop is clean and well maintained with a good selection of regular and no chip colors. No chip has been my preference for a long time so that is what I went with. The work is awesome, the second time I went to them, I threw out a design I wanted (learning some places really don't do designs for no chip) and they really put a lot of heart into it! I walked away a happy client. My first no chip was $45 and the second $50; a little pricey but again, the work was awesome in my opinion.

They seem to only have one woman on staff who does acrylics (what I have), but she does them so well I don't mind making an appointment. I've even gone a week with no nails (a very rare sight for me!) just so I could see Sarah for my full set! I am very picky about my nails, and she always does an incredible job. The shape and length are perfect! All the women are very sweet, and it only took a few appointments for them to know me by name and know what I like. To address some of the other reviews about "rudeness", they have at times been very blunt with me about my nail care. Personally, I view it as professional advice (they are licensed professionals, after all), and am thankful for it! But I can see how others might be offended. And yes, you should make an appointment. They're in a busy area and are sometimes booked. I often just call the day before and it's no problem. Also, to the issues with sanitation- I am a licensed esthetician and I have seen no issues. We are trained and tested on many of the same sanitation and sterilization protocols. Don't make assumptions based on what you think is happening, a lot happens behind the scenes/between appointments. And more often than not, people just don't know what to look for! I have been to this salon many times and everything is in line with board standards and regulations. Please give this place a try! They are meticulous, professional, and very kind.

I asked why and she said it was a "quick dry color and is $7 more". When I said she should have told me she replied "now you know for next time". She said the same thing to a person to my left when asked for something they weren't getting but wanted. It was too late 2 minutes into the pedi to change. She said "now you know for next time". There won't be a next time. Watch out. I've observed how they coddle their "regulars". Not new people.
