The ambience was great, the service was good. But the food could use some fine tuning. I don't like to leave negative reviews but I implore management to rethink the burger. The burger is bad. Like really bad. It is a structural disaster. Beets, Pineapple, Eggs, and Tomato cause the burger to slide all over the place. We asked for the burger medium and it came out charred, cold, bland and dry. How could a burger have all of these ingredients and still have such a strong lack of flavor? The sauce was non existent. And we added truffle fries to the order. They were the worst truffle fries I have ever had. Cold like they had been sitting for a long time and coated in oil. No extra cheese or parsley or nothing. Just pure oil dumped onto the fries. You wouldn't know they were truffle fries other than the aroma. The entire dish is inedible. and it was $30!!! The fried olives were hot and crunchy, which was great. Loved the blue cheese. The mussels were also really yummy. Loved the addition of lightly toasted bread croutons instead of just serving the dish with bread. We loved the broth flavor, but it could've used a bit more acidity. The kale salad was really yummy as well. I really liked the croutons, toasted hazelnuts, and anchovy dressing. But it was wayyyyy too overdressed, which made the dish a bit sickening. The place is small but has personality and an inviting ambiance. Plus all the servers and bartenders were very kind and patient. You have to try the fresh frozen watermelon margarita! Who doesn't love some house made ricotta with freshly baked bread? Can't go wrong with that. We were seated within 15mins around 11:30am on a Saturday, that was risky but the table turnaround time was quick since they have many tables. Highly recommend the house cured Norwegian salmon, great breakfast as well as pretty to look at. I have mixed feelings. I've been here a few times and I typically enjoy the food they serve, the restaurant itself is nice, and our most recent waitress was so sweet. However, every time I've come I've had really horrible standout experiences with some of their staff. Particularly, there's a male bartender who is SO RUDE. The way he speaks to guests who are paying to dine in the establishment that employs him is crazyyy. Like I would be immediately fired from my service job if I spoke to guests in the way that he does... and it seems to be a common occurrence based on the other reviews. He actually cussed at my friend and he has this attitude about him that makes it clear that every guest is a nuisance to him rather than a person deserving of respect and dignity. I don't know what his problem is, but his rudeness has genuinely tainted what would otherwise be a holistically positive impression of the restaurant. Ricotta pancakes - 4/5 the most popular dish from what i've seen and they were very delicious especially the butter on top. after a few too many bites i became a bit bored of it though. Having tried getting into this restaurant on numerous occasions in the last 3 years, we decided to do a walk-in on a windy Sunday afternoon and brunch and lucky for us, we got seated right away, the day after Christmas. Indoor seating is really tight, but we still managed to be seated at a relatively isolated table near the entrance. The place was at 90% capacity and staff was running around but managed to keep service times within an acceptable 20 minutes. Our order included an excellent cocktail Golden Dawn ($14) which was packed with flavor and good amount of spirit! For food, we got a Spinach and Feta Classic Aussie Roll ($8) and a Spicy Harissa Chicken Pie ($8) which were really delicious. We also got an Avocado Toast ($12) which had a small layer of shaved radish, which looked good presentation wise but did not enhance the flavor whatsoever, like a radish should do. The grilled 7-grain bread however was very nice and the lemon oil added a decent amount of flavor. Service was good and quick! I ordered cauliflower steak, which came with Turkish pickles, chickpea mash, and schug. It was good but the pickles overpowered all other flavors and ingredients in this cauliflower entree. Only order the cauliflower steak if you L-O-V-E love pickles. The burger comes with chipotle mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, and has many delicious add-on options. The servers are super friendly and all have great style. The space is pretty small, but our server offered to push another table over to increase surface area. I'm really sad I have to leave this review because I've been here many of times and have loved it but unfortunately, I had a really negative experience last weekend and wanted to share. SERVICE: We both got the burger and on the menu it is quoted as $21 but we were charged $23, also added a pricing of $2 extra for a slice of cheese which we weren't notified about. On top of that, our waitress changed our tip to higher and when I saw the receipt come thru the next day I called the restaurant and asked to speak with a manager and then left a voicemail with the office but they never called me back. This is completely unacceptable. The burger itself: Meat was fine but lacked flavor (and small) but the bun was dry and that takes away from the burger completely. It was a basic burger that isn't worth the amount. Also, the fries were overly salted and soggy, definitely not worth the $25 you spent for a mediocre (at best) burger. This place is great for brunch but not for dinner and sadly I won't return because of the experience I had. Please be mindful of checking your receipts so you don't get your tip changed :( read more

We put our names in and were pleasantly surprised that the wait was shorter than expected, but after we were sat we were ignored for 15 minutes. Had to ask 2 separate people if we could place our order. The person who took our order was nice, but then disappeared again until we flagged someone down again to ask for the check. We watched both tables on either side of us get seated and served their meals - and one table finished their meal, paid, and left - before our food came out. While I give this place a 10/10 on vibes, the food was just okay. I ordered the ricotta pancakes (their special, according to a waitress) . Though I was expecting a pancake that was slightly cheesy, there was way too much ricotta, which made them taste more savory than sweet. I appreciated that the pancakes were topped with lots of fruit and served with real maple syrup, but I wasn't blown away by them.
