    pan seared salmon
    Yessenia F.

I was going to an event at Warsaw and was looking for restaurants in the area to get dinner prior. The location is pretty great! It's right next to McCarren Park and it seems pretty lively with ample outdoor seating and a small cozy indoor area. The seating inside is pretty small, so try to make reservations in advance. The ambience and service was great. Our server was very attentive and checked in on us a few times. There was great music. It was a great place to chat and enjoy some drinks on happy hour. The food was ok. I got the pan seared salmon which was good. I enjoyed the little crisps and sauce it came in. A friend got the fettuccine which wasn't the best? The noodles were very bland, it had no flavor. The saving grace was the eggplant fritters. The cheese bread was a nice appetizer. I would recommend for the vibes and the fun area that it's in, but gotta give the food another go!

Brunch Vibes Worth the Hype! Had brunch with my cousin and let me just say, every bit of the hype is so well deserved. We went on a weekday around 11am, so it wasn't too busy, which made it even more enjoyable. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome by the friendly staff. That energy sets the tone right away! I'd read about the Ricotta Pancakes and had to see what the fuss was about, they did not disappoint. We also had the Grain Bowl with a side of steak and halloumi, and every bite was packed with flavor and texture. I don't drink alcohol, but I love a good mocktail. "Waters of Life" was a winner--especially if you're into bold ginger and turmeric flavors like I am. Best part? You can treat yourself without breaking the bank. Trust me, this spot is a gem. I'll definitely be back soon!

Greenpoint staple next to McCarran Park offering big tastes with lively atmosphere and quality service. Whether it's brunch, dinner or just drinks, this corner spot is the place to be.

One of those classic brunch spots that gets packed once the weather warms up. They've got all the usual American staples, but the real standout? That kale salad!! So good, perfectly dressed, a little spicy, and topped with toasted hazelnuts Also got the ricotta pancakes, super fluffy with honeycomb butter. Very good. The spicy chicken sandwich hit the spot but not a must order. ricotta pancakes $22 black kale salad $16* spicy chicken sandwich $20 날씨 풀리면 사람 꽉 차는 브런치 맛집.

Very cute/cozy brunch spot, stopped in on a random Monday morning with the girls. Bartenders and servers were amazing and welcoming, the food was amazing as well. I'd certainly recommend this cute spot, you don't be disappointed.

I got to try their Five Leaves Burger, and I found it to be a very interesting combination of sweetness from the beet and pineapple with the savoriness of the beef. Personally, I felt it's more suited for people who enjoy that type of contrast--like those who like pineapple on pizza--though it wasn't exactly to my taste. One small thing that threw me off: when I ordered, the waitress asked if I wanted cheese. I said yes, but it wasn't mentioned that it would be an extra $2 until I saw it on the bill. It's on the menu, but I think a heads-up would've been nice. Honestly, I feel like burgers should just come with cheese by default, so it felt a bit nickel-and-dimed. It came out to be almost $30 for the burger.

A great place for a casual brunch if you're in the Greenpoint area. The restaurant itself is very small so you'll be super close to others and no reservations available- walk in only. I had to wait 30-40 min. The food was great. I feel for the price ($20) for for the big brekky, which included eggs, hash browns, toast, and your choice of 2 sides, it's a great bang for your buck. Tip: choose the baked beans for one of the sides and thank me later. We had spicy margs and they had the perfect amount of alcohol. Service was efficient, no complaints. Overall, I would return but I'm not the biggest fan of restaurants where people are literally seated on top of you. However, the food was great so I will probably make an exception.

    Moroccan Scramble

I might have set my expectations too high and got disappointed. I do not recommend Five Leaves for its food and service. If you are looking for good food don't go. But if what you want is coffee (latte, cappuccino or an espresso martini) then go ahead and try it out, it's pretty good. Food: the food was blah. Nice presentation but that's about it. We had the ricotta pancakes, most of us agreed that they were too dense and not fluffy enough, it becomes overwhelming after the first 2 bites. One thing that I appreciated was that the fruits were fresh and sweet. The Moroccan scramble was ehhh. It is stacked on top of the bread and to get to the bottom of the plate it's a hassle and it's messy. The taste is not spectacular but it's edible. The burger was ok, nothing special. The chicken sandwich was good, not great. Ohhh but wait...their mussels were delicious. We enjoyed the coconut curry sauce and the fresh cilantro. Service: the best way that I can describe the service in one word is...neglectful. The waitress was not rude, but we already had our plates in the table when I had to ask for water for the table. The glasses were sitting on the table empty for 30-45 min. We asked for a hot chocolate (along with the rest of the order) it took like 30 min to come out, after we all had our coffee. Ambiance: is serene, cool, comfortable. The decor is very nice. Unfortunately I will not be going back and I do not recommend the restaurant because of the service and the food. Buuuut...their coffee is pretty good, I wish they put the same amount of love in their customer service and food that they put in their coffee. lol.

We sat in the outside covered seating in which could have used a bit more cleaning. But was suitable as we wanted to park our bikes in sight. Ordered the burger and steak plates with frozen watermelon margaritas. Burger style is thick and juicy and messy, slathered with spicy mayo (huge fan). Truffle fries were delicious and plentiful. My partner liked the steak as he ate it all unless he was just very hungry. The margaritas were strong and tasty - perfect for a summer evening. A friend suggested this place as Bernie's wait was too long, and scratched my burger itch!

Five Leaves never disappoint. The atmosphere is neighborhood casual. I didnt know eggs can be made this perfectly. Honestly Ive had half the menu and all 10/10. Service= fantastic

Walked in on a Monday afternoon and was seated immediately. We got the chicken pie, truffle fries, spicy chicken sandwich, and an egg toast. The food was good and flavorful. I enjoyed the truffle fries and would say it's a must order for the table to share. The pot pie was a bit drier than I expected but I did enjoy how fluffy the ricotta pancakes were. Overall, cute brunch place but very small interior that was slightly uncomfortable to sit.

Stopped in to grab a coffee on the go. Didn't try any food but the restaurant is cute and quaint offering Australian / American brunch/ lunch selections. My coffee was full of flavor and a hit the spot on a cold day. The service was great, took time to explain their cuisine and what they are best known for. Great coffee and service.

French onion soup, Five Leaves Burger
    Emma K.

Went for dinner Friday night. Took about 40 mins to get seated for 2 people no reservation around 7pm. Super cozy vibes, good food, festive!! The French onion soup is super tasty as are the mussels (need more bread with the mussels!) If you sit on the bench side at the second or third table in -- you're on top of a radiator so the bench is heated! Walked by this place many times, shocked I've waited this long to try but defs will be back

    Burger was juicy

The guy working the counter has a lot of energy and clearly loves being there. The PB banana smoothie was yummy, very thick so could use a spoon. Mushroom toast was a bit pricey but you did get a lot of food for your money, the focaccia was crunchier than expected but all around a nice cafe bite. I just appreciate how this is such a gathering spot where you can watch bk life play out while working, it had a different energy from a lot of places in the area.

I first ordered a chai latte and he said I could do two different syrups so I got the pumpkin and salted maple, though I was worried about it being too sugary so he suggested I could just do half a pump of each. He asked me what the name of the order would be and I said "Aida" (the phonetic spelling is ah-EE-dah). And then I heard the other barista say something along the lines of, "oh Aida, how about 'Aida' rather not be here", pretty rude if you ask me. And then I ordered the spicy nook sandwich. And when another server called my named to grab it she didn't even knowledge me when I tried to thank her and instead she talked to her coworker while I was right in front of her. The sandwich was really good, so was my chai tea. I really like the pumpkin and salt and maple syrups too. I did like all the options for seating although it was pretty packed. I'd say if you have a big party get there early. By 7pm the whole place was filled. There was a huge majong club that came in and took the whole back area, it was so crammed there were lines for the bathroom. Over all I had a good time. I really like the music too just know it gets very busy in there. The employees I would say were hit or miss. The ones that were great though I really liked. Just seem like the ones who didn't really give attention to customers or were kind of rude seemed like they didn't wanna be there.
