Five Guys is a great choice if you don't want a fast food burger! You can also order and customize your burger on line. There are special toppings and xtras for no extra charge. I just do not understand what is so great about a burger stand whose food reeks of grease. Wife and I went there and bought 2 burgers with an order of fries. They put them in a brown bag that was soaked with grease by the time we got to the table. Burgers are more pan fried loosemeat midwestern and I guess great for you if you are obese or dedicated to being that way. The fries virtually slip out of your hand and I guess go directly to the walls of your arteries. I mean, what is so great about a place that is just so obviously unhealthy. You can do great burgers without all the unhealthy crap so why not be different and make good food. Cheeseburger was very good, and it alone deserves 3-4 stars. I especially liked the number of ingredients available. I agree with earlier comments that the bun is nothing special, and it arrives squashed or flattened against the burger's contents. However, the price is twice that of I&O, and so was the amount of grease. The fries were completely soggy and grease was soaking into the bag before we even picked it up from the counter. It was disgusting. Some customers must have been fortunate enough to get crispy fries, but that was definitely not the case with our order. The cajun seasoning was alright. Its ok if youre starving but truth be told, In-n-Out can give you a lot more for a lot less. Whenever I go, they tend to mess up my order. Ive even circled what I want and they still manage to screw it up somehow. Is a good burger really to much to ask for? If you're looking for a good burger with low expectations yea come here... I thought this place would be like super, super good but it was honestly just average at best. I think the burgers taste like burgers you can grill at home in your backyard. I also got the cajun fries and they give a LOT, like a LOT! Like really, I can eat a ton of fries but it was still too much for me and it was only the small portion. The flavor and texture of the fries isn't that great though..it was really soggy and thick and the cajun flavoring tasted like lawry's seasoning salt and it wasn't even spicy or even hot for that matter. I'd so much rather go to In-N-Out. Five guys is overrated and the burgers are way overpriced considering how average the burgers are. I really like the service at this location though! It's beloved by many of my friends, but I don't understand why. The flavor is not bad, and the fries are okay. The real issues is that the grease or fat content is so high that it overwhelms my palette. After a few bites it all tastes like mud. read more

I have eaten at several Five Guys. All the food is really good EXCEPT they have the WORST burger buns. This is why it is only getting 3 stars. Everything about the burgers and fries are great but the buns are tasteless, flimsy, and fall apart after just a few bites. I have asked them to grill them a little longer to see if it makes them a little stronger but it didn't help one bit. If they had a decent bun I would give it 5 stars. A little bit better than In-N-Out. But certainly not worth the extra cost. The Habit & Brea's Best are much better.

I've been hearing about Five Guys for a few years and finally had a chance to try them out. The staff was friendly, but even after I told them this was my first visit, they offered no assistance and just stood there waiting for me to order. While looking at the menu, I noticed that the prices were a little steep for burgers and fries. I ordered a cheeseburger, small fries and a small soda. The burger was buried under all of the fries in a paper bag. I finally got it out and opened the wrapping to find that the toppings were poorly placed in the burger and placing the burger under the fries kind of smushed the burger a bit. I thought the burger was very tasty, and a burger that is juicy is always a plus. The fries were good tasting, but not very crispy at all, and they give you way too many. I thought $12.21 for a burger, small fries, and a small soda was way too high. They should cut the quantity of fries in half, and sell what I ordered as a combo for no more that $7.00 or $8.00. The Habit is as good or better and has better prices. I doubt I'll return, even though the food was pretty good. read more

So this was my first time trying Five Guys Burgers & Fries and sadly, I was a little underwhelmed. The guys working at this particular location were cool guys. They were friendly and even turned down the music for us, because it was pretty loud. The food was just not what I expected, not when there's an In-N-Out existing out there. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger (2 patties) with everything except onions and fries and a drink. There's no such thing as a combo over here. Everything came out to like $14 and some change. That's crazy expensive! A double double combo at In-N-Out would cost me $8 to $9 maybe, so does that mean the extra $5 accounts for the bacon and grilled mushrooms?! That's a little excessive. When I got my burger, it was good, but what bothered me is that the bun immediately fell apart on me, making my burger extremely difficult to eat -- neatly anyway. That annoyed me a bit. To top it all off, I didn't really like the fries either. I guess I had higher expectations for this place. Anyway, I probably won't be going back, especially if there's an In-N-Out nearby. read more

I decided to give Five Guys a try since I had never been. When my daughter and I first entered the restaurant, we saw the menu right away. You get to choose your own toppings. The menu was fairly simple, you could order a hamburger, cheeseburger, etc, or the "little hamburger" or "little cheeseburger", etc. I decided to play it safe and I ordered the Little Bacon Cheeseburger. My daughter, not shy when it comes to food, ordered a bacon cheeseburger. I had no idea what to expect. I ordered a side of fries and two drinks as well. After we got our drinks, we found our table and sat in our chairs, waiting. It was pretty busy, but no so much as it was overwhelming and frantic. My daughter realized a little too late that the fries were cooked in peanut oil as she read the menu from where we sat. She has an allergy to peanuts. When we got our food, I made sure to take out the food from the bag and unwrap her burger for her and to put it on the white napkins instead of her touching the foil. I wasn't about to take any chances with her touching anything the oil may have come into contact with. Her burger was HUGE. And she was happy! lol. Mine was awesome, with just the right amount of mushrooms that I had ordered as a free topping. My daughter glared at me as I ate a few fries. I tried to feel guilty...really, I did. I visited this location after going to the one in Orange when they first started appearing in orange county. I consider this place pricier than most burger places. I can't remember how much but I am sure it comes to more than $10 for a burger, fries, and a drink. Their burgers are bigger in size than the ones at In N Out. Their regular burger comes with two patties, but I only get the little one that only has one. I like how the burger tastes, but it's nothing extraordinary. They have a variety of extras you can add to your burger without extra costs. I order mine with grilled onions, and mushrooms, but bacon is extra. The bacon is really crispy and goes great with the burger. One reason I don't really like the burger is because the buns are soggy, and sometimes it is hard to eat it without it crumbling. I really wish they toasted their buns to make it hold everything together. I do love their cajun fries. They come is cups, and the smaller size of the two sizes is actually a very big portion, so if you are looking to cut the costs share them with someone. They are the more natural thicker kind fries,and they are soft not crispy. But I really like the cajun seasoning so it makes up for them not being crispy. read more

If I'm really hungry, I get Cajun fries too, but the burger is normally enough to fill me and that's about $5. I'm here about once a week during the school year since CSUF is across the street. Hands down my favorite burger place of all time, and I'm super picky with meat. It gets messy, but who cares? With how good it is, I wolf it down within minutes and leave a happy camper. read more

Ok, lets get the bad stuff out of the way first. The music is WAAAY to loud in a small enclosed building. They put the burgers in the bag and then dump all of the hot fries on top of the burgers. You end up diving through fries to get to your burgers. A bit overpriced. No shakes. Now the good, service was friendly and swift. When we came, the establishment was fairly clean. Having multiple toppings can satisfy your occasional certain cravings. The taste of the burger was very good. It did remind me a bit of IN N Out, however the bun literally disintegrated in my hands. The cheese and grilled onions they use are top notch, but get ready for a messy time. The fries are over kill. The small can serve two to three people. So, burger, very good but a bit on the messy and greasy side, fries were ok....McD has nothing to worry about. My husband and I went to this location a few weeks ago and I was shocked about how unfriendly the atmosphere was. I normally go to the Cerritos location and am used to walking and hearing the typical"welcome to five guys" and the employees are super friendly..Not so at this location. Not to mention the fact that I was injured while waiting for our food. Those stupid metal racks they keep the potatoes on were too close to where we were sitting and when I got up, my shin slammed into the metal rack and left 2 gashes. Nobody seemed to care. My husband and I left and went back to our hotel room cuz we were on vacation. My leg was killing me so I took a look at it and it was very swollen and bleeding. i called the store and the manager had me come in to fill out a incident report. when i got there, she couldnt find an incident report and asked me to fill out my info on a piece of paper and she would send it to her manager. It took 4 days for a manager to call me and then all he offered me was a $20 gift card. Can you believe that? The only reason I didnt go to the ER was because I was on vacation and didnt want to spend 5 hours in the ER. The owner called me and was an ass..He said, "what do you want me to do, accidents happen"? He said, you dont have any medical bills so there is nothing I can do He told me to try to sue him if I want but it wouldnt do me any good. Can you believe he treated an injured customer in such a rude manner? Not only does this location suck in customer service and the burgers arent as good as the other locations ive been to, but the owner has absolutely no compassion at all. I am truly disappointed in the chain and will NOT return. I encourage others to boycott this place if they want to be treated like a loyal customer. Let's start off with the service. I was greeted with a smile as soon as I walked in and everyone there is so friendly! The energy you get from them is very uplifting. However the food, personally I expected more from it. It is not a cheap place and I believe you are not getting your monies worth. The burger here is phenomenal. I like it much more than In-n-Out. The patty tastes much better to me and it feels more prominent. A lot of In-n-Outs burger taste feels much more dependent on the other ingredients. The only thing I don't like are the fries.
